The Rangers are more rested and maybe faster. They might look OK early, but the Kings should crush them. If Lundquist is a problem, they'll have a fourth liner skate over top of him. On a related note, the Canucks organization and fans must vomit a litle bit in their mouths every time they see Vigneault celebrating another series win. The Rangers and Nucks swap coaches. The Nucks fire Tortorella (owing him $8 million), fire their GM, their best center wants out, their team is in complete disarray. Even by the eye test, Quick has been less than stellar these playoffs while lundqvist has been mostly outstanding (save one game versus Montreal). Quote

Especially offensive teams. Blackhawks and Sharks are much different than Habs and Flyers. Quote

The only thing that could possibly derail them is if King Henrik frustrates them into doing something stupid. -TSS- Posted June 8, 2014 Report Posted June 8, 2014 Has there ever been any serious talk in the NHL that the season should really end a bit sooner? perhaps then start earlier? After all, even though hockey is nowadays an indoor-game its roots lie in the outdoor game played in cold temperatures and on natural ice. That's why teams from cities like Boston, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal etc are considered as the traditional teams when as teams from places like Carolina, Nashville, Miami as plastic teams. The season ending in mid-June is therefore just against the ethos of the very sport. Quote

The Kings have better offensive defensemen, but not a better defense. The Rangers team defense is better. Plus they block more shots than just about anyone. Quote
