Shady Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Of course he's all there. He's just a complete racist ahole. No, he's definitely not all there. But who cares. This whole thing is getting obscene. Why am I not surprised that CNN is there, asking him "important" questions. I guess they're having to fill time now that the missing plane thing went nowhere, and they've finished asking Cliven Bundy "important" questions. Yes, CNN, if you're a racist, they'll give you a microphone at the drop of a hat! The most trusted name in news. Quote
WestCoastRunner Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 No, he's definitely not all there. He is definitely all there! Are you providing medical professional support that he is entering dementia? Are you defending him? Not sure your angle here? Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. WestCoastRunner Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 I absolutely want to know how you can defend this guy. Are we discriminating against him? Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass. - Maya Angelou
Shady Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Except of course, there's one racist they love... Quote
Shady Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 I absolutely want to know how you can defend this guy. Are we discriminating against him? I'm not defending him at all. He's racist, as well as old and senile. The two aren't mutually exlusive. Quote

WestCoastRunner Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Not sure how he was "rounding up blacks and latinos." Where did he store them after he rounded them up? Anyways, nobody was denying Sterlings behavior in the past. That's why he was sued and ultimately lost several years ago. So why are you defending him now. Why can't you come out and take a stand against him? Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass. - Maya Angelou
Boges Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 Least shocking thing ever. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/basketball/report-sterling-threatens-to-sue-nba-refuses-to-pay-fine/article18711568/ Quote
Boges Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 $2 BILLION!!!!! http://www.thestar.com/sports/basketball/2014/05/30/nba_shelly_sterling_agrees_to_sell_clippers_to_former_microsoft_ceo_steve_ballmer_for_2b.html LOS ANGELES, CALIF.—Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has agreed to buy the Los Angeles Clippers for a record-breaking $2 billion. Now it’s up to others whether the deal goes through. Shelly Sterling said in a statement issued late Thursday that she’d signed a binding contract for a sale of the Clippers by The Sterling Family Trust to Ballmer in what would be a record deal if approved by the NBA. Ballmer “will be a terrific owner,” Sterling said, “We have worked for 33 years to build the Clippers into a premier NBA franchise. I am confident that Steve will take the team to new levels of success.” Sterling negotiated the sale after her husband, Donald Sterling, made racist remarksthat were made public. The remarks included Sterling telling girlfriend V. Stiviano not to bring blacks to Clippers games, specifically mentioning Hall of Famer Magic Johnson. Shelly Sterling’s statement noted that she made the deal “under her authority as the sole trustee of The Sterling Family Trust, which owns the Clippers.” Donald Sterling’s attorneys contend that he is a co-owner and therefore must give his assent for the deal to go through. They also say he won’t be giving it. Quote
cybercoma Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 This is going to be cute. She sold it. He says no. Quote
guyser Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 I imagine the seller of the Milwaukee Bucks is crying in his latte this morning. They were sold for $500M (or so).......meaning there was probably a lot of money left on the table. Quote
cybercoma Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Lob City is worth way more than the Bucks. Quote
Boges Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 The LA Dodgers went for $2 billion. This is one of the reasons why the NFL hasn't been in LA for years now. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 If Sterling and his ex-Mrs. get $2 billion from Ballmer for the Clippers, then Sterling is a certified genius. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Big Guy Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 "Sterling was determined to be mentally unfit to make decisions related to the family trust. According to USA Today, the Sterling Family Trust owns the team and based on provisions and protocol related to mental capacity, Sterling's wife, Shelly, became the sole power-wielding decision-maker recently. Experts determined Donald Sterling was not capable of making those decisions due to his mental state." http://www.kmbc.com/sports/Report-Sterling-deemed-mentally-unfit/26245332#!Ssler If he is unfit to make those decisions was he then "mentally unfit" when he made those statements that are forcing the sale of the team. If he was not mentally competent then he was not responsible for his statements and should not be made to sell. I do not think that there is a mental competency requirement to own a team. Boges Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) People scoffed when it was said that he "wasn't all there". The stupidity of what he said especially in the Anderson Cooper interview is evidence of a lack of mental capacity. He may still be a racist (see he previous actions that were completely ignored by the league) but his actions indicate a lack of mental capacity. Edited May 30, 2014 by Boges Quote

monty16 Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 The upside of this is Sterling has damaged his reputation and that can kill him quicker than he would have just died from old age. He's an ugly old man whose persona is seen as attracting beautiful women and that's the way he wants to be known. Now he is being known as a racist hating old white man and his biggest cause is to clean up that image with his money. In the US there may be just enough of his ilk in the general population to let him do that. Hence, the sympathy he gets for the trouble he has caused himself. Quote

monty16 Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Not a lack of mental capacity, only the fact that racists will spill their guts on their racist agenda if asked simple questions. They can't help it, it's what they are and they can't pretend it away. Let all that sympathize with him be known for what they are. The legality argument is thin cover at best. Quote
