Now, I know that Hillary Clinton has not officially said she will run, but you can bet she is! I would like to see her pick Elizabeth Warren as her running mate but sounds like a hispanic would make more sense. Who do you think she should pick as her running mate?

A centrist Male wasp from a swing state. Biden or Jeb Bush

Well, Jeb could be a possibility! Stranger things have happened.

How about Collin Powell. I know he is somewhat tainted from his association with Bush, but he did buck Bush (pardon my expresion) until they brought the boom down on him. He seems like a smart man to me and of course we see now that America has been able to accept a black man in the white house.

He's too old, but If he were younger, he wouldn't be a bad choice.

I think having two women on the ticket would be great for american politics. After all, the only people who wouldn't like this idea wouldn't vote for Hillary anyway.

Yes you are right, I didn't realize he was the age he is until I just looked him up.

OK I got two more ideas, one serious, one not so much. Michelle Obama, although I don't reckon America would allow two women at the helm, and then there's Dave Letterman. He's out of a job just in time to start a campaign. A little humor wouldn't hurt, would it?

Michelle Obama would be great and like I said previously, anyone who didn't like two women on the ticket wouldn't vote for Hillary anyway. However, I don't think that Michelle is into politics like her husband is. Dave Letterman, hmmm, now that could be interesting.

I'm just being silly here now but I'm thinking about some interesting "top ten lists" as well as "small town news" items, from the white house. I get this way this time of night.

I just read that It would not be the first time two women have run together: (Jill Stein and Cheri Honkala were running mates on the Green Party ticket in 2012.). However, it would be the first time for a major party.

Hillary Clinton and Colin Powell could be the geriatric ticket! I've got their campaign symbol already ...

Ronald Reagan was 70 years old when he was elected. And I suspect Hillary is now feeling invigorated and refreshed with a grandchild on the way. What if it's a girl! She will want to leave a legacy for her grandchild!

He was, but he didn't have a vice president that was almost 80. Anyways, who cares what sex her grandchild might be? She's already left a legacy. You're too focused on identity politics, and cults of personality rather than actual ideas and policies.

Not sure why you would say that, but who cares.

I wait with baited breath to see what kind on neanderthals the GOP/Tea Party wil come up with.

How about Robin Williams? He's only mid 60's. I'm determined to get humor and intelligence into this game.

And he has both! Not a bad choice.

Hillary will be 69 or so in 2016... That's too old. Best to leave the country to the next generation.

Sure Hillary is going to make a run for it, and why not? She is among the entitled political elite with a strong network for garnishing political contributions!

I just hope at some point in time the US public realizes that she is just another step in the wrong direction!

Or Mary Landrieu, Louisiana Senator.

Is she the one who got roasted on live TV during Hurricane Katrina?

Hate to say it, but I'm kind of with Shady here: the idea that the person should be chosen based on identity-politics credentials is pretty sick. It makes me think of a focus-group sketch I saw on The Daily Show a few years ago. "What did you think of his comments about the middle east, Jew?" "What do older voters think of what he just said, Senior?" "Did that speech appeal to women, Woman?" "Christian-- oh, you're Christian AND Black! You're TWO things!"

Although, one might argue that a decision-making process like "We'll pick Biden because Obama needs an old-white dude to reassure old white voters" or "Mitt needs a young dynamic running mate, so we'll pick Ryan" is also identity politics. One could also make the case that "we need a VP candidate who will excite the evangelicals" or "we need a candidate that will get the Tea Party faction behind the ticket" or similar considerations are also, in a sense, identity politics.
