What a joke Charles Anthony is. I report someone for the first time ("Yeah I somehow missed that. What a piece of shit" Black Dog)...and he tells me to delete the message myself.

I'm not a moderator on this site,

OK. I deleted your entire status update. The whole thing was trolling from the get go.

You should be able to delete individual responses to your own Status Update posting. You were told that.

Perhaps it is not working. Can the rest of the membership confirm or deny that function?

There should be a Delete button that appears to the top-right of every response to your status update. It may appear only when your mouse pointer hovers over that area.

When I read something that I consider to be blatantly racist etc. I have found that stating that it is racist has little value. I try to find a similar view expressed by someone who is considered by all to be racist ( like leaders of the 3rd Reich and White Supremist groups) and post that quote after the original post.

If there is no similarity then my method has no effect and is ignored.

Avoid doing that. We choose to deem that as disruptive and confusing.

You can not just post a quote. You have to state your point. If you do not state your point, your quote will be taken down.

How did you come to that conclusion, especially with the plethora of crap that ppl post as status updates.

I stated an opinion. Clearly, any opinion that doesn't line up with yours is trolling.

It's my understanding that status updates and any discussions that take place in the chat room are not moderated to ensure PC. MH has even admitted on this thread that he does not read the status updates. Judging by what is posted on the updates, it just seems to be a free for all and a platform to express thoughts that would otherwise get deleted in threads. I am just as much a perpetrator of this habit as are most of the posters on here. Big deal.

Well, that's a good question. At least the mods should be consistent with the review of status updates. I have seen plenty of status updates that would have been deleted in a heartbeat if they were posted in a thread.

We do act on Status updates but it's difficult as they don't have a 'report' option.

So we get PMs about status updates, sometimes after they have been changed.

Children require referees, umpires and supervisors to control their actions because they are young, immature and need an adult guiding hand.

Intelligent adults, on the other hand, should be mature enough to maintain their tempers and not look to outside supervision and moderation to set standards of civility. If you need some third party to moderate your actions then it is time to review what it is that you are doing and why you are doing it.

True, but this the internet. Anonymity makes people feel they can say anything they want. Some people just aren't mature either, even if they're adults.
