When I first joined the Progressive Conservative Party, it was partly because the Conservatives supported the Canadian Armed Forces. Since this stupid merger, Harper has conducted a campaign to cheat the vets who served this country. Harper is no Conservative. For all his BS about rebuilding the Canadian Forces he has done virtually nothing. A man or woman goes off to fight for Queen and Country and when she or he returns and completes the mission, they are cheated and ill treated and forgotten by their government under Harper.

A Conservative stands for God, King and Country

Just curious, did you feel that Bev Oda was treated unfairly over that 16$ glass of orange juice? Was Bev Oda entitled to her entitlements?

Yes she was. If the ruling party or any party has a problem with that then put restrictions on the way expenses are spent and reported. Have all elected officials post their detailed expenses on line and put restrictions on what can or cannot be charged as "doing business". I have no doubt that there have been many $16 orange juices and plenty of alcohol charged during lunches and dinners - for politician and "entourage".

If Bev runs again, the voters will show if they want her representing her or not.

Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.

Still it shows the same sense of entitlement as the senators, and this is no different. And people are sick and tired of it. But I love how the liberals on this board went from howling over these entitlements and then trudeau's boy gets caught and it is no longer a issue. You guys are so funny..

He only "got caught" when he decided NOT to become Harper's boy. Otherwise you'd have heard squat about it. Rules is rules, and the Harpers have had 8 years to change them, but now all of a sudden they're PO'ed. Ray Charles could see through that!

72G'S to move down the street, what is he a senator?? You would think they would not allow something like this to happen with all that has been going on. Or is this just the same old ''I am entitled to my entitlements'' excuse. This is no different then the senators and he should step down untill a investigation happens.

Is it within his contractual benefits? Were the expenses audited? If the answer is both I don't see why it should not be paid.

So you notice that to, that the general sold himself to the highest bidder? And if he became harper's boy it still would have been leaked.

I doubt that, what with the right wing media in the Conservatives pocket and always pushing a right wing agenda and all.

(its dumb when anyone says left wing media so lets all get dumb together!)

Sun news. At least sun news actually checks facts and even goes after the government, not like the star which is pure leftwing fabrication.

So while we are talking OVER spending by officials, the latest reports says that taxpayers paid over $67,789.48 over 3 years for weekly catered lunch meetings for PMO staffers and ministerial chiefs of staff, which is a violation of the Treasury Board policy. When asked today, Clements stood up and said "It was within the Rules" Well, Leslie said what he did was also within the Rules but we don't hear anything about this from the Tories about the staffers. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/02/25/pmo-expenses-lunches_n_4850684.html?ir=Canada%C2'>

If they were working lunches there's nothing wrong with that. That works out, by the way, to about $450 each week. How many people and how many lunches did it involve?

Come on, PIK. If your employer was willing to pay your moving, legal and real estate charges would you tell them no, you'd rather pay them yourself?

Hate the game, not the player.

Perhaps this has gotten a bit more play than it should - but you have to admit - if Mr. Leslie had become a Conservative as he originally contemplated, it would have gotten even more play - and none too kind. But to your point - Andrew Leslie is not just another employee - he's chosen to enter the world of politics - a world that is currently rife with partisan attacks, polarized issues and reporting that may - or may not be biased - but certainly is always in search of a "gotchya" moment. So it's a matter of judgement - knowing that there is a "spirit" to every rule......and moving 6 blocks doesn't pass the smell test for most Canadians. No doubt, they will tighten up the rules pretty quickly - which will likely cause further embarrassment. Perhaps they'll only allow a 50% claim for inter-city moves......but whatever it is, it'll be known in perpetuity as the Andrew Leslie rule.
