This thread should make it obvious why the environment doesn't stand a chance.

People are the reason the environment doesn't stand a chance. I'd be willing to bet Suzuki's footprint is bigger than mine.

Ezra was also out with the Occupy crowds in Toronto trying to make them look like idiots. Saying that they will repeat anything someone says. Ezra had little knowledge (or total feigned ignorance) of what 'the people's microphone' was all about.

The occupy crowds made themselves look like idiots. They didn't need anyone's help.

I just want to note this statement from John Abbott: http://www.johnabbott.qc.ca/welcome

which the Post has appended to the Kay piece linked above: http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2013/01/29/jonathan-kay-david-suzuki-is-poster-boy-for-why-canada-needs-suns-hater-brand-of-journalism/

To set the record straight regarding Dr. David Suzuki’s visit to our campus October 24, both male and female students escorted him throughout a full day and evening of activities in order to facilitate his movements throughout our campus. Those students, all of whom were chosen for their professionalism, were part of our Police Technology program.

There was no rider in Dr. Suzuki’s contract specifying the gender or dress code of those assisting him throughout the day. The negative comments and innuendos made are demeaning to those students and to the College and are the result of the misinterpretation of emails exchanged between colleagues.

With regard to Dr. Suzuki’s fee, it was in line with his full day participation in what was a very important event for our College where 1,600 students attended the morning presentation and more than 13,000 Lester B. Pearson School Board students followed the live webcast. In an unprecedented move, the campus essentially became one big classroom on that morning as teachers were encouraged to participate in the morning lecture and incorporate the event in their classes. Following the days commitments, Dr. Suzuki was the keynote speaker at an evening honouring benefactors who are responsible for several million dollars in donations to the College.

Kay has written some horrendous AGW/CC related columns in the past... but every once in a long while, he came up with something accurate/relevant, to the point I no longer included him in the NP's stable of denier 'journalists'. Looks like he fell backward again with this column where he accepts Levant's tripe at face value. Imagine if Kay had simply contacted the appropriate representative(s) from John Abbott directly - what a concept!

They should have put the boots to him. The banksters don't allow Occupy or any other demonstrators to get to them through their lines of security, why would an Occupy crowd put up with an enemy propagandist, even for a second?

Well....might be seeing them some more.

In one giant hypocritical turnaround, they (Sun News Network) are petitioning the CRTC to be included in basic cable.....meaning you pay for them whether you like it or not !

I suppose getting a couple of thousand viewers a day is bleeding them. Maybe if they were better and not such a second third rate looking station they may do better.

Yes, I heard that one. Typical that the same ones who are complaining about others living off the government are the first ones at the trough.

And I just want you to know that I'm really sorry for calling you a clown in that other thread.

Getting called a clown by someone who thinks being accused of rape is worse than a woman having to go through rape, is meaningless.

Yeah, clown puts it lightly.

Really! So, I guess we have another rape defender here! What's the matter: Palin Derangement Syndrome?

He gets paid by a news organization that has never been profitable in its entire life since lord black created it; so if the corporate donors crack the whip, these guys all have to jump regardless of how high minded and intellectual they think they are!

What? Hypocrisy? From the right? Never I have I ever! Next you'll tell me that Sun TV's parent company accepts money from the taxpayer!

I know... shocking!

Seems they have been a fair bit quieter about slamming the CBC. Now it makes sense.

Which is what makes it an August thread.

Can you ever avoid personal insults?
  • Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
  • Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds.
  • Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location?
  • The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

August, no idea why you put savile and suzuki together, some sort of point is there obviously , but MH is right, the comparison is horrible.
I guess that I'm fearful of leftist adulation.

If the CBC (or BBC) promotes someone, then I get suspicious.

I'm no shill for Videotron and the husband of Julie Snyder but the CBC/Radio-Canada receives over $1 billion annually, directly, from taxpayers. Anything Ted Rogers receives pales in comparison.

And anyway Black Dog, isn't it scary to you that a media centre receives funding from the government? (Hint: Imagine how that relationship could be abused if Harper gets re-elected in 2015 - assuming that it's not already being abused.)

no - this was simply you taking extreme liberties in bringing forward a most ugly, undeserved and ridiculous comparison between one of your favourite targets, Suzuki, and a known/described pedophile. The comparison actually says more about you than anything else.

Jimmy Savile was not a "known/described pedophile" until after his death.

In a sense, I admire young people like Brigette de Pape who have the courage to take on "power". But would she have had the courage to take on someone like Jimmy Savile, a product of the BBC, the elite? Or is it easier to take on a PM that the Toronto CBC leftist elite despises?

Waldo, this is what frightens me: Among leftists, someone like Savile or Suzuki can get away with murder. And many public figures, whatever their age - or political opinion, now know this.

David Suzuki is a murderer? Hmmm...you learn something new everyday around here.

Anyway, how about them Ravens?

and you're bringing forward the most inappropriate comparison, after his death... in a period when the pedophilia is known/described.

whatever you believe Suzuki has 'gotten away with', your reference to the Ezrant article is one that has been shown to be without "murdering" substance.

Eyeball, you of all posters, should understand my point. What frightens me is that someone (Suzuki, Harper, Savile, Obama) could cultivate such adulation that they could get away with murder.

It seems to me that the Left is more inclined to adulate. IOW, it is easy to denigrate the Right it but requires true courage to ridicule a leader of the Left. It is easy for Brigitte dePape to oppose Harper, but it is hard to oppose Suzuki.

So, on what side of the aisle are the psychopaths likely to sit: Left or Right?

Why?

What frightens me is that someone (Suzuki, Harper, Savile, Obama) could cultivate such adulation that they could get away with murder.

What disturbs me is that someone would go to the trouble of trying to enculturate me to believe Suzuki would.

It seems to me that the Left is more inclined to adulate.

I'm not surprised it seems that way to you.
