You have never elaborated on your theory of human origins, so maybe you'd like to tell us how Neanderthals and Denisovans fit into the picture. Are they descendents of Adam and Eve or did God create these other human races before them. Or, are these human relatives descendents of either of Noah's three sons......can't wait to find out.

Don't hold your breath.

So conclusion is, what these folks in Texas are teaching is not consistent with the bible. End of discussion

And not just evangelicals. For some reason nazi sites like Stormfront and Vanguard were also running with that story....they seem to really get bent out of shape by the prospect of Europeans having some Neanderthal blood for some reason also.

Now, if I recall, the issue is that Texas public school boards are promoting pseudoscience in the classroom, like teaching that all human races are Noah's descendents. I don't need to elaborate on human origins, since I don't really care a hoot if you believe we all developed from the urine of an alien pissing in the ocean....my belief is rooted in FAITH. NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCES NECESSARY.

You, on the other hand have to elaborate and explain your stance. And you're doing so poorly at it.....what more, when we peel away the onion skin, you're left with nothing .....except the possibility of the......magic pie in the sky! UFO! STAR TREK! laugh.png

And speaking of Star Trek, that same name was cited as an example in the topic, What Is A Christian, post# 153.

More slimy arguments "I don't need evidence but you do". At least you've spelled it our clearly. So tell me, why do you wet your pants so much when archaeology does confirm some minor or very broad point in the bible? There really is a place called Egypt, the bible must be entirely truuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue. And then your little cheerleader will jump in and claim you won the argument. Pathetic.

Don't tell me that sums up the gist of your understanding? That's all you managed to come up with about the facts listed in The Bible? The exampe of the existence of Egypt???

Yup. Pathetic, indeed. laugh.png

Therefore, let me now officially lump you along with some of the folks here. Come back to me when you've got something substantial to say.

Right back at ya, slick. It's my belief, I don't need facts but you do isn't a substantive argument.

This is a really well put summary of what the debate with theists is actually about. The problem is the intellectual dishonesty from theists when they claim any sort of evidence for their religious beliefs. If they stuck with faith, it would be a much more honest, but probably more boring, dialogue.

That's what I said a couple of days ago about betsy: Science is sound and respectable when she thinks it supports her personal interpretations of her preferred version of the Bible; it's a hoax and contemptable when it challenges the structures of her narrow little world. Pure hypocricy.

Well, what can I say? Faith is...faith.

FAITH

Strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.

Funny. I offered more scientific evidences that supports the Bible more than you guys managed to scrape to support your own claim.

Oh quit your incessant whining. I only stated the fact....that the onus is on you to support your claim with evidences. After all, science deals with evidences.

You should know better than to debate belief with a religious person. Don't blame me just because you're stumped with your own belief. You're the ones rambunctiously engaging me.

So what! Good for them for having the guts!

Secular classrooms teaches assumptions for facts!

You mean absolutely proveable facts via countless scientific methods that the earth is far, far older than 6000 years?

Can you find a high school textbook that says the theory of evolution and the theory of the evolution of man is 100% fact?

Lol the topic of this thread has been shredded to pieces.

If the kids go to proper schools, they most likely won't be instilled with nonsense by their parents or religious preachers.

"Our work"..... I didn't realise you and betsy were aligned. But, if you are and if your intent was to appear deliberately ignorant and illogical, then, yes, it was worth all your "effort".

betsy logic: Science can support the veracity of the Bible, but science can't support the veracity of science.

Yeah maybe I am. Thats not a problem, is it?

And if your intent is to appear with your head pulled out of your culo, youve failed.

Good for you. Keep your damn faith to yourself then and stop trying to get people to teach it in science classrooms, where the threshold is a little more rigorous than faith for something to be taught as fact.

Oh, did I tell you about Christian group organizations that teach our kids leadership skills? Yep. True.

Pretty much any organizations can teach kids leadership skills. Whether good or bad leadership skills being taught is another question.

Agree. But it's better for us Christians to teach our own children, and hone them with leadership skills. With Christian values as solid foundation, I think if these training remain consistent with Christ's teachings, it will benefit society and will make the world a better place.

Cheers.
