Accountability Now Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 Personally...I put the CBC poll right up there with the 50 states that wanted to secede from the US after Obama got in again. Accountability Now Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 You're British? Nope Canadian. I often tease my American friends about that one. You still are bored...hence so much America gazing. Good thing hockey is back, huh? Yes...very bored and very glad hockey is back. Quote

There are always going to be people who think the grass is greener. Perhaps, but they wanted to be part of President Obama's "historic" moment, compared to PM Harper and his band of "Neocons" destroying Canada. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Guest American Woman Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 Nope Canadian. I often tease my American friends about that one. Do your American friends remind you that it was the British? As Obama said to Cameron upon his visit: "It's 200 years since the British came to the White House under somewhat different circumstances. They made quite a impression, they really lit up the place. But we've moved on." Quote

Pretty much, eh? I like the quote. I'll have to remember it. I like the quote, too. Nothing like a little War of 1812 banter among friends. Quote
GostHacked Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 American Woman, recall in the gun thread where you asked out the second shooter? Why did we not hear about it again? I mean they got it all on video from the chopper... Quote
Bryan Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 The CBC poll was a fact...a sad, pathetic fact. "CBC" and "fact" in the same sentence. That is some comedy gold right there. Quote
dre Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 And if you don't think there are Canadians who buy into conspiracy theories, too - think again. Quote I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger
Moonlight Graham Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Hey...you Yanks just remember who won the War of 1812! We got all the way to the White House, buned it down and decided to go back home because we were bored. LOL. Just fanning the flames! LOL. Boges Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) I heard the guy who started a website about Sandy Hook Hoaxes on the radio this morning. He sounds exactly like a truther. He cites inconsistencies in police reports and people's stories. Can't really argue with any of that but same with the argument against the 911 conspiracy works. If it was an inside job you'd expect a well co-ordinated event everyone involved would have been told what to say and stories would have matched. But if it wasn't planned then you'd have unexpected things to happen as it did. Edited January 17, 2013 by Boges Quote

Boges Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) How do you know it was just after the shooting? was it time stamped? We can play this game both ways. Perhaps they were students running for their lives? Does the absence of an explanation of who these two people are provide evidence that the shooting is a hoax? Edited January 17, 2013 by Boges Quote

Perhaps they were students running for their lives? Does the absence of an explanation of who these two people are provide evidence that the shooting is a hoax? The clip I posted was I think from CBS, the view was from the police or news chopper overhead just after the shooting. All explained in the video, with the chopper footage. The shooting was not a hoax, however there are some strange things with it. The medical examiner would not let the parents identify the bodies in person, instead he delivered photographs to the parents for verification. He said that during the 15 minute press conference he gave at the site. I've never heard of ID'ing bodies by picture alone, claiming to want to not traumatize the parents. Quote

Michael Hardner Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 We were British, so since the British burned down the White House didn't we burn down the White House? No wait, it was actually the British! The great comic Niles Seguin made a poignant point to a room full of Canadians: "When Canada did something valiant prior to 1867, it was "Canadians" and when they did something heinous it was "The British"" Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! bush_cheney2004 Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 "When Canada did something valiant prior to 1867, it was "Canadians" and when they did something heinous it was "The British"" Spot on....it was the British who supported slavery and snookered First Nations, not Canadians ! It's very convenient, and works well. But seriously, i think anything that directly involves our soil, like the War of 1812, can be argued to at least in some extend involve "Canadians", or Canadian British or whatever we were called. I don't think Canadian British can be given credit or blame for something that happens over on the island of Great Britain that doesn't involve anyone in North America. The people of the 13 British colonies of America were also British, so technically the British created the United States and wrote the Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the US. Nope....by definition, the United States of America was not created by the British. Many other nationals were also involved in the 13 colonies and Revolutionary War. The Unites States' formation also intersects France, Spain, and Russia. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
