And neither is it debatable that the Conservatives are fully supportive of the Fraser Institute.

It's totally debatable, because it's not even remotely true. The Fraser Institute and the CPC have opposing views on many issues, especially when it comes to healthcare.

Do they Brian? I'm not really aware of any honest disagreements but am anxious of hearing that to which you are referring. Good item for discussion as long as we can keep it on track!

Initially, I'll just say that I don't consider the CPC as being honest in the least with regard to our health care system. There's little doubt though that it needs to walk very cautiously on how it handles their problem. Canadians are going to require a lot of conditioning before they will give up even the smallest bit of what Tommy Douglas gave us. It's just not in the cards. Any suggestions?

The Canadian health care system can be improved upon and will likely but not under a Conservative government.

No...it is perfect....ranked best in the world for sure. All ya hafta do is convince the taxpaying rubes to wait their patriotic turn for routine health care procedures.

Stop spamming the forum with your ridiculous ideas. Canada doesn't have the best in the world. Other countries that practice universal health care have the best. Exclusively, the best.

No....it's true. Canada's is the best at convincing the taxpayers that access to wait lists and web sites is the way to go. The absolute best at doing this.

Yes....I can, and so can a majority of Americans with untaxed health care insurance employment benefits. That's also why American & Canadian pets can get faster treatment than Canadian patients waiting for the universal health care genie to grant them a wish...eventually, even though they have already paid for it with their taxes. The pet owners are willing to pay....right now...without hesitation. It is no surprise that a well financed, for-profit health care enterprise can provide great service !

Room to get better , but I have spent a lot of time in hospitals with elderly parents in the last 5 yrs and I have no complaints with the service.

As have most of us.

But none of 'us' have any incentive nor desire to make attempted feeble and ignorant posts about 'free' or waiting lists' or some such, all in plain view of millions of his country men going broke from care to going out of country for basic care.

And at the end of the day, none of us have some ignorant lackey to rely on for coverage.:lol: T'is funny to watch.

It's still a personal attack even though you don't mention the name. Nobody is unaware of who you are attacking.

It remains a mystery to me why the Canadians who are quite satisfied with their health care access and services (as stated here) have to insist that most Americans must/should be dis-satisfied with theirs, when this is certainly not the case.

Nope. Americans are clearly quite happy with their healthcare system. No problems whatsoever.

They can be just as "happy" as Canadians are with theirs, whether ranked high or low. Why would you expect any difference ?

I need to have a surgeon and I got a appointment with in 2 months. It is not important so I have no problem with that. And if it was important it would have been sooner.

Someone has certainly done a good job at convincing you that the Canadian system is the polar opposite of how it actually operates.

That OK.....the same thing happens in Canada whenever any suggestion of a better public/private solution is proposed...."Oh no....American style healthcare!"

Of course.

We dont like some idiot lackey in a cubicle picking his nose while deciding to approve treatment or not. We leave that to the Yanks.

Waiting lists are a scandal in the U.S., but normal operating procedure in Canada.

I've never seen or been put on one of these waiting lists. Getting the medical care you need when you need it is the norm in Canada.
