Why can't Canada be more nationalist?

I can see that you have given this much thought.

I hope that you do not own firearms?

I am a law abiding citizen without a criminal record. I do own firearms. I am ready for the day when the economic system collapses and people start fighting in the streets over food. People with firearms will rule over those that do not. It's also why I have gold and silver as throughout the ages those metals have always been used to trade with. Then a true revolution will begin.

if the economy collapses what are you going to do with your gold and silver? eat it?...the new currency will be food, services and practical trade goods, silver and gold will be as worthless as dirt......

All through the ages gold and solver have been used to trade and it will be the currency again. Sure at first it won't be but once things slowly are re established then precious metals will once again have their place.

Bottom line is that the people with guns will be ruling the people without guns.

Maybe if someone finds the term offensive then it would be best to not use it.Regardless of how it may be specifically used.

That's my policy.

Thank you

WWWTT

it's not offensive and i didn't use it an an offensive manner and I never meant to offend anyone...i'll stopping using it when people stop using "patriotism" and there's no chance of that happening any time soon..

Patriotism is important and needs to be strengthened not weakened. The socialists are trying to water down what it means to be a Canadian until the term itself is meaningless. That is their goal, the destruction of Canada.

I have guns I'll take what I want from those who don't have guns. I won't be starving...lol.

thinking things through isn't your strong suit is it?..with the number of gun owners that there are in canada chances are you'll try take food from someone with a gun and you'll be dead long before you can starve to death...

Peaceful pursuits is making us the laughing stock of the world and got us booted from the UN security groups. What the world respects is military power. Sorry to burst your bubble but it's true. The stronger your military is the more respect you get.

You get respect for both. Canada didn't get into the UNSC last vote largely because the Harper gov didn't even campaign for the position. They showed zero interest in wanting it, which is a joke.

edit: i'm ignoring this thread from now on due to it being completely ridiculous.

You have said you were in prison before.

Should we believe anything you have to say from now on?

Do you know if a Canadian who was convicted of assault with a gun can legally own a gun?

Yes they can unless there was a portion of their sentence that prohibits it, the length of time varies varies from years to life.

As long as you haven't been charged in the last 5 years, you can apply for a Possession & Acquisition License, a background check is then made a the Chief Firearms Office makes the call in conjunction with the RCMP.

Most prohibition orders are for life.

Most are for 10 years, not for life. I had numerous convictions for assaults, never with a gun mind you, and I got 10 year prohibitions every time.
As others have said, it really depends on if this person got a pardon or not. I doubt someone with a conviction for assault with a weapon would get one.

Really?

I've been to prison several times for assault and assault with a weapon every time. Once the weapon was knife, another a gun and the last one I snapped a mop handle in a bar and stabbed someone with it. I used to drink a lot and pick fights in bars.

Yet you claim to own guns, which is what triggered my curiosity.

Thanks for all of the info, everyone - I appreciate it. smile.png I had a hard time finding information myself.

Yes, if anyone in Canada gets convicted of any kind of assault, even common assault the judge will pretty much always slap a 10 year weapon prohibition onto it.

I got a pardon for my crimes, so my record is gone now, well sealed. All of my record was assaults and none were with weapons. I had poor control of my emotions and would lash out physically.

All the same as long as someone isn't banned from owning firearms they can apply. If you're banned, even applying will get you charged again with a breach of a court order.

Edit- if you breach a 10 year ban you'll most likely be rewarded with a lifetime ban...lol.

Pardoned for all of your crimes, eh? Just how common is that in Canada? - That someone would recieve a pardon for all of their crimes? And you yourself said, and I quote, "I've been to prison several times for assault and assault with a weapon every time. Once the weapon was knife, another a gun and the last one I snapped a mop handle in a bar and stabbed someone with it."

Lol, I don't remember writing that, I may have embellished it a bit. I have been to jail quite a few times yes but I never stabbed anyone with a mop handle though. Sounds like a movie.

A pardon is obtainable after some time has passed since your sentence ended and the board who makes these decisions is convinced that ones likelihood to reoffend is low.
