GostHacked Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 I dunno about "left-obsessives", but it is fun to watch the HDS sufferers: Forgive me if I am skeptical that a politician actually does some good for a change without an ulterior motive. Quote
Guest Peeves Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Forgive me if I am skeptical that a politician actually does some good for a change without an ulterior motive. While true, if they say they will as part of an election promise and then they do it, as Mike did provincially , then I give them credit as warranted. Quote
Fletch 27 Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Forgive me if I am skeptical that a politician actually does some good for a change without an ulterior motive. Its similar to "Pavlovs Dog" syndrome.. We have been abused by the Liberals for so long, some just can get over good plolicy changes.. Quote
Keepitsimple Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 It's simply because there is no money to pay out these pensions. They all know that and now that it will eventually effect them they are going to try and do something about it. This is not leadership. This is damage control. Since when does the Left care about whether you can pay for something?......Socialism fails when you run out of other peoples' money. Quote Back to Basics

g_bambino Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 I have two portraits in my den. One is of the greatest leader of our time General Franco and the other is of PM Harper. They will go down as the two great men of history. PM Harper is akin to Canada's father and we his children. Now let's all gather around Papa Harpers feet as he tells us great stories of how we beat the communists, socialists and Liberals and how to keep the wolves at bay. it's time for Harper to outlaw all other political parties and make the Conservatives Canada's ruling party. PM Harper could get a military uniform and start taking steps to expand Canada's borders beyond North America. We need a place to vacation PM Harper please start there. Why don't you go vacation in North Korea, and not come back? Quote
Topaz Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 I was C-PAC tonight and the AG found out that the cuts for OAS, which the Tories said so there be enough money for the future.......they are taking out 10 Billion by doing so. This is the reason they don't want Page to get his hands on the other documents he wants to see. The Tories went on a spending spree, and I would like to know where it went, and now Canadians have to pay for THEIR mistakes. What a bunch of liars. Quote
Mr.Canada Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Uh.... so does capitalism. idkwhatimdoing Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) That $1M would hardly make a dent on the budget, and was pure politics. There's no doubt that he was banking on the fact that the news would pick up regardless of how loud he was about it and that his quietness would play off even better. Politics is politics is politics. An extra four years would make a lot more than $1M in corporate contributions. Edited October 24, 2012 by idkwhatimdoing Quote
kairos Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Harper and his ilk don't make money off pensions, they make it off investments, and post political positions with large corporations and think tanks. Quote

PIK Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 It's a way to save face when crunch time comes. I guess I should applaud the move, but my distrust of Harper makes me think otherwise. Maybe it is time for you to mistrust the people that have for years been telling you how evil harper is and to be very afraid of his hidden adgenda. Those were the people lying to you. Sleipnir Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Suck that up you left wing whiners. Glad he got a majority, 'cause the NDP and Liberals wouldn't do it, they have shown a record of entitlement...Ok there was that Bev Oda anomaly... There was more than that Bev Oda fiasco - there is pratically nothing fiscally conservative about that party. We need to control spending and Harper is not but I;m too afraid of what the NDP will do to change my vote. I will never vote for the Ad Scam Liberals. It's either Tory or NDP for me. eyeball Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) So how are we ever going to recruit the kind of governing talent this country needs without CEO-like compensation packages? According to theory we can expect the quality of our politicians to sink ever faster now. I want more upstanding men and women who have priorities in CANADA and not thier own wallet while looking to retire at 31....
