Topaz Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 This Bill requires telecom providers in Canada to monitor used data and to hand over personal information to authories without a warrant or judcial oversight because of China being the largest maker of telecom equipment, which could be a national security risk. Any cost would be downloaded to the consumer. Thoughts? http://rabble.ca/blogs/bloggers/openmediaca/2012/10/online-spying-bill-c-30-threatens-canadas-national-security Quote

I will comment here on this issue however. I don't like anything that give the government too much control over our lives and especially the internet. This smacks of big brother and I hate it. That seems like a typical conservative viewpoint - less government interference in our private lives. Now why is the Conservative party going against the wishes of their core voters? Very strange ... almost as if they've become drunk with power and greedy for complete power over the private lives of every Canadian. I wonder how Tory MP's justify this to their libertarian-conservative constituents? This should be an interesting tap dance! Quote

Thoughts? http://rabble.ca/blogs/bloggers/openmediaca/2012/10/online-spying-bill-c-30-threatens-canadas-national-security I have had only one experience with rabble.com and that was enough! I have never met a more bigoted, intolerant, pig-headed, profane, biased, closed minded and rude bunch of people in my life. And those were just the moderators! I have never been back. They can preach to each other for all I care. They will not miss someone like me, much less care. Certainly, I will never miss them. They have the manners of pigs. May they always get as they give! Such rules never stopped rabble from insulting me or anyone else they fancied! Is it libel if it is true? Is it an insult to state facts? Whatever, don't worry Michael. I've been on this board for some years now and I have only mentioned rabble once or twice. I will be perfectly happy never to mention the name again! I got banned from Rabble for being too right-wing and banned from Free Dominion for being too left-wing At the same time I've since been unbanned at both though. I consider both quality websites with a purpose-built self-acknowledged skew. If you pretend such skew does not exist, you will see both as sub-par. Quote Feel free to contact me outside the forums. These are, openly and proudly, leftwing and rightwing sites, respectively. No problem that I can see.
