in one corner we have the semi-literate whites who are desperately holding onto their god (who, by the way, is okay with bombing people, regularly cheers for the death penalty and doesn't believe in helping his fellow men). in the other corner, you have the women, latinos, blacks and every other minority.

guess who is going to be whining and crying for the next 4 years. yes, shady and the rest of the semi-literate whites.

guess who is going to lose? 99% of americans. behind all the rhetoric and jingoism coming out of the 2 party system, the large corporations are paying some big time money to both parties who will end up repaying for the corporations generosity at the expense of americans and the world.

Just in case anyone misses, you prove once again what you are-a pathetic racist hate monger. You turn every debate into

this level of response. It shows blatantly what you are and what you stand for. But hey I can hear Bleeding Heart now running to your defence. He can't smell a whiff of racism.

By the way you elitist little pipsqueak there are plenty of semi literate people of all colours from white to black who support both parties-your pathetic attempts to smeer people with racist name tags is par for the course.

Buddy Boy. Now he claims to be literate. Hah.

I was just reading through a list of the speakers for the DNC convention, and it's God-awful. They have one of the most unimpressive line up of speakers that I've ever seen since being interested in politics and conventions.

Here's what you're suppose to be excited for...

Cory Booker

Julian Castro

Tammy Baldwin

Kamala Harris

Linc Chafee

Nancy Pelosi

John Kerry

Jerry Brown

Charlie Crist

It's a good thing they have Bill Clinton speaking, because without him, they'd need a snooze alarm! Yikes! Somebody wake me up when it's over, and tell me how it was.

-_--_--_-

Shady two things. First I am Canadian so I do not presume to tell Yanks how to vote so any reading this should know that. I respect their right to vote for who they want. 2. That said I have always supported the Democrats and now I think even for a middle of the roader like me I would even more so after listening to people you left off the list, Biden, Kerry and yegads I will say it Eva Longoria.

Seriously the difference in conventions is like night and day. Never have I seen politics in the two parties so distinct.

For those of us who actually read the platforms and not necessarily watch simply the shows on t.v. even last election between McCain and Obama they were almost identical in foreign policy and economic policy no matter how many people tried to say otherwise.

What has clearly happened in American politics is on the floors of the Senate and Congress party members on each side are split all over the place. You have some Democrats far more conservative in politics then Obama and likewise vice vera some Republics far less consevative then the guys right now in charge.

The map of who stands for what is all over the place. That hinky promise of no new taxes one lobby group tried to tie all senators and congressmen to seems to be unravelling.

What we now see emerging is class warfare vocabulary in not so subtle terms-lower and middle class v.s. upper class. That is how the Democrats are labelling it no doubt. What also is clear is the Republican party is not on full cylinders. To miss out on thanking American soldiers was a glaring mistake at their convention the Dems pounced all over.

Romney is being pillaged on his confused foreign policy.

What I think has happened is some of the Christian Evangelist base of Republican votes is taking the election off not wanting to support a Mormon (oops I almost said moron).

I think Romney is not going to get that heavy Christian fundamentalist turn out he needs.

As for Obama I just don't know if he will get record numbers coming out again.

At this point from what I have seen the Dems are winning the war of image. Romney is just not coming off as a person of the

people.

Push comes to shove he just does not have the ordinary man touch. As much as I detested Bush I get what the image makers did with him. He was a goof-a good old boy, someone the guy on the street would say-duh he's ordinary like me. That gosh shucks goof act worked over the brainy Ivy College approach of Kerry.

Problem is with Obama, everyone now wants a guy who looks good in a suit and is an over achiever not under achiever.

Everyone knows Romney is a born into wealth button down shirt guy. He can roll up the sleeves all he wants but he is a sheltered rich boy. Obama wears those slick suits but people know he worked his way up on his brains not his money.

I just don't see born into the money elitism pulling this election off and at the end of the day that is what this war of images will come down to, privileged rich boy underachiever and unprivileged overachieving poor boy.

Only this is not a race issue. Never was. This is an economic class issue something Bud and his Syrian disinformation league just don't get. Its not a matter of colour-its a matter of class. If you are poor, black or white, you aint gonna identify with Republican. There are minority people who buy into Republican. It has nothing to do with their colour and everything to do with their level of income. Wealthy non whites like wealthy whites don't want taxes.

Its human nature. Those that have want to preserve and protect. Those who do not have, want what others have and they feel they do not.

Problem is in bad times calling on your rich to form a wagon to keep the poor out of your neighbourhoods doesn't work. Not enough of you to form those wagons.

No problem. After Romney loses, Jeb Bush will come running in and then we shall see who in the Democrats will tangle with him. Certainly not Biden. He'll be 75 by then. He may very well retire in office paving the way for the next Democrat hopeful.

In this polarized environment I just hope there is no campaign violence as things heat up. Class warfare invites street violence. Its only a matter of time until some violence breaks out.

I thought it was amazing given the audience, and the context. He outdid Romney about 10 to 1.

But Romneys not a great speech giver, and you think whatever Obama does is amazing, it was a very pedestrian speech, never mentioning the stimulus or Obamacare. He didn't even mention the unemployed.

Oh yes, I've been a huge Obama supporter. So much his supporter that in the spring, I was rooting for Romney.

it was a very pedestrian speech, never mentioning the stimulus or Obamacare. He didn't even mention the unemployed.

It mentioned differences in healthcare and action taken to save the economy. I don't know where you and the Republicans are talking about. More importantly though, Clinton laid out why Obama should be re-elected. Obama was asking for more time for his vision, and a rejection of the vision of Romney and Ryan. This speech wasn't designed to have soaring rhetoric or to sound like beautiful poetry like so many of his speeches. It was a down to business laying out of the choices for an American vision. When all you do is listen to talking points, I wouldn't be surprised if you missed it.

because i said the republican party is mostly supported by semi-literate whites? i'm white and i did my best to sit through and watch at least part of the conventions to get a sense of what's going on. watching the republican convention, all i saw were white people who, from their responses to empty fluff slogans displayed how they're semi-literate. watching the democrat convention, i mostly saw women and minorities who nodded and cheered every time the trigger slogans were made.

do you deny that the republicans are largely white?

Yes, that was my opinion.

my mistake - how could one fail to appreciate the distinction between your "very" pedestrian opine and the basic/simple/unassuming pedestrian summation tied to your follow-up linked citation. How pedestrian of me!

I think when people reach the age of 11 to 13,they stop caring so much about balloons.

But Shady,I sincerely believe you are very concerned that there wasn't any balloons. Why do you care so much about balloons Shady?

Do you have balloons around your house/apartment Shady?

Do you like blowing up balloons Shady?

Do balloons make you feel happy Shady? And do you get mad when people scare you by popping balloons behind your back?

Is this a reason for Americans to not vote for Democrats?

the lack of balloons is the end of obama.

Balloons? Really?

It was just a question. However, doing some research, I found that because they decided to move the speech indoors on wednesday, there was no time to do the normal post-convention prep.

Well maybe Romney can amend the constitution and that everyone has a right to bear arms, and balloons.

A woman with MS, cancer survivor, mother of five and wife of a man who built Staples, Sealy, Sports Authority and turned around a failing Olympics is "Marie Antoinette"?

I usually don't like to resort to namecalling, but, wow - you really are a commie, aren't you?

You would think someone as observant as Shady would be less concerned about the Balloons and more concerned that in Ryans last three BIG SPEECHES (His RNC speech, His accepting of the VP spot from Romney, and his Glen Allen rally in Virginia) he never said "God Bless America". I understand why though he is hoping that America failing will get him elected and he truly believes what he asks for from God will happen. So why would he want Gods help right now?

I'll tell you one thing. You wont find a prominent Democrat not saying "God Bless America" at their convention. Of course Shady will give the Republicans a pass because well the Dems didn't have balloons. Really this is the trivial crap this race as come down to.

Unlike Romney, who just hopes that America will get into a battle to bring about the apocalypse and thus the second coming of Christ.

Well he is the Mormon who was foretold about by Joseph Smith in the White Horse Prophecy. Correct?

Even Maureen Dowd pans Obama's pathetic convention speech...

In his renomination acceptance speech here on Thursday night, he told us that America’s problems were tougher to solve than he had originally thought.

And that’s why he has kindly agreed to give us more time.

Because, after all, it’s our fault.

...

“I’m the president,” he intoned.

But We, the People, must do the work.

The buck stops with us.

See fanboys, you don't have to take my word for it. Listen to a big Obama supporter. A fellow fanboy. Or at least a former one, I'm not sure which.
