do you ever read reference citations provided to you, hey? Have another read, hey lil' buddy.

Politifact: "

Ryan said Obama broke his promise to keep a Wisconsin GM plant from closing. But we don't see evidence he explicitly made such a promise -- and more importantly, the Janesville plant shut down before he took office.

We rate Ryan's statement False

The lack of ethnic diversity in the crowd was truly remarkable.

I thought maybe a "candid" closeup on a random ethnic face (a la CPC) would seem too conspicuous, but I googled images of the convention. The camera really wasn't lying.

Sad state of affairs for the party.

You're not being serious, are you?

Yah its not like two delegates got kicked out for throwing peanuts at an African American member of the media while saying "This is how we feed the Animals." or anything. No wait that did happen.

I think Romney has a big problem coming according to the Washington Post he has run such a lying campaign that many in the media have started to have a debate about what their job is, is to report the lie and let the public sort it out, or report what is a lie and ask questions about it. Ryan's speech was so full of lies, and they were so bold faced that I think it was the straw that broke the camels back. First the article I was talking about.

I didn’t expect this, but the epic dishonesty of Romney’s campaign is finally prompting something of a debate among media types about whether what we’re seeing here is unprecedented — and how to appropriately respond to it.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/call-out-the-lies-right-in-your-headlines/2012/08/29/6e263346-f1fe-11e1-adc6-87dfa8eff430_blog.html

Now for where I see it breaking. Wolf Blitzer right after the speech last night said this.

Although I marked at least seven or eight points I’m sure the fact checkers will have some opportunities to dispute if they want to go forward, I’m sure they will

I have never in my whole life seen Blitzer say a politician was lying. If the media starts to call out Romney's lies he is done that is what he is running on lies and hoping no one calls him on them. This could get ugly, Fox vs. the world.

Never mind Fox is reporting the lies now to, it will now be billionaires ad time vs the word.

On the other hand, to anyone paying the slightest bit of attention to facts, Ryan’s speech was an apparent attempt to set the world record for the greatest number of blatant lies and misrepresentations slipped into a single political speech. On this measure, while it was Romney who ran the Olympics, Ryan earned the gold.

Fox news said that. You know its bad when right? As Shady says in this very thread there is one place he trusts and it is fox news. Ouch.

Regardless of how accurate the facts are in Ryan's speech or the GOP campaign as a whole, it's interesting they aren't spending any time articulating a plan for what they would do instead. All they are doing is attacking the incumbent, which I suppose is fairly standard, but I don't ever recall seeing things reduced to this base level before.

How about you first acknowledge the Milwakee Journal-Sentinal citing the plant stopped SUV production in '08, but didn't close until '09 after it completed its truck production? Stop lying waldo, stop spreading false information. Stop denying!

Can you tell me exactly why it matters that they shut down four months after the inauguration instead of one month before? The vast majority of jobs at this plant were gone before Obama took office: the final closure in April was simply the final nail in the coffin. What a stupid talking point.

Here is what I can tell. The plant closed down on December 23 2008 and laid off 1200 workers. They did however have something like 40 trucks to deliver so they kept something like 24 people on to finish building the trucks. That is what Shady the Lair is talking about. 24 people stayed on to finish building a small amount of trucks from an old order.

When a friend of mine worked at a paper mill that closed down they kept him and another guy on after the mill closed for a few months to pack up the mill so that millions of dollars in equipment weren't damaged. That does not mean that mill shut down the day he was done thought. That is stupid and only a stupid person would make that argument. I think every rational person on this board would agree.

Shady would have been much better going with the OTHER Romney campaign line that "Ryan didn't say that" while that is a lie to it is easy to play with words to try and make that case.

again, per the PolitiFact link provided previously, the principal Ryan lie, per se, was Ryan claiming, "Obama broke his promise to keep a Wisconsin GM plant from closing". What you describe as Shady's stupidity is the distraction around the couple of dozen workers kept on to close-out a final contract... after 1200 workers were let go... after the announcement was made to officially close the plant - all of which occurred in early 2008, under the Bush admin.

speaking of Romney/Ryan lies:

You know who was in office at the time of that plant closing? You know who was the congressman from that town? You know who actually did NOTHING to help that plant in anyway. PAUL RYAN.

From the New Yorker.

In 2008, however, Ryan vowed not to request earmarks anymore; he later helped push through an outright ban. I asked [John Beckord, a Ryan supporter and the head of Forward Janesville,] whether Ryan’s libertarianism ever clashed with the needs of his constituents. He hesitated, then said, finally, "I suppose there could have been a full-court press to just cobble together as much federal money as possible on our behalf to make it irresistible for G.M. to keep this plant open."

Now there we go Paul Ryan is mad because he did NOTHING for the people of his district and now he wants to blame Obama. What a piece of work.

The difference being that there is a great deal of diversity in the CPC.

In comparison to the make up of Canada as a whole yes. Something like 80% of Canada is white and that numbers is pretty consistant. Where the US it is only 65% and falling.

My point was that there is diversity in the CPC. There isn't in the GOP.

Yah no I agree. My point is it seems there is less because there is just less diversity in Canada as a whole. You have to expect there to be more white faces in Canadian parties because there is just more white faces in Canada.

What's going to happen now is the GOP fanboys like Shady will just say, "So what!? ALL politicians lie!"

Yep that is where we are going it is a Sad day when 45% of a country gives a guys a pass because of the better evil.

Didnt you claim (like on the previous page) that Romney's campaign was lying constantly but never admit to the lies from Obama's campaign?

You mean in the other thread where I said something wasn't a lie and Shady it was a lie based on a Washington Post fact check that the Washington Post then walked back and said they were wrong it wasn't a lie? Yep I stand by that not being a lie. Again Romney's whole campaign is based on lies there is nothing else. Stop with the both sides do it garbage. If Obama is telling saying one misleading statement (which is often debatable) out of a hundred, and Romney is saying hundred out of a hundred that one misleading statement DOES NOT give Romney the right the run a whole campaign on lies. Giving him a pass on every lie because a small amount of misleading statements is a road to hell.

You are part of the problem.

I know. It's not about issues and policy any more with your ilk. It's all about race. All of the time.

OMG Shady you were here just yesterday SCREAMING AT THE TOP YOU FINGERS all about MSNBC in reporting on the minority speakers. Give me a break.

Yes, as Punked's pointing out about your MSNBC "minority" bit; or Biden's remark about "chains."

Fortunately you stand above this type of discourse.

“There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver."

Exactly. You can't have an adult conversation with punked. He just drags things down to a gutter talking point level. At least people like waldo and Bubber will discuss things somewhat reasonably. With punked it's like talking to a 5 year old.
