olpfan1 Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 I think it also depends on whether or not there is a certain element within said nationality or religion that is sanctioning/supporting the murder(s). This is not behavior that is in any way encouraged, supported, sanctioned by the U.S. government. Such atrocities have always been condemned - as they should. The burning of their dumb religious book by U.S marines & the mass murder of 16 Afghanis = get the hell out of dodge and never go back Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 ....Given how sensitive the situation is in Afghanistan I think it behooves the U.S. government to exercise a lot more control over the people it's armed. How did this guy get outside the wire unauthorized and heavily armed? No...it is not sensitive....it is a war. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Michael Hardner Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 I think it also depends on whether or not there is a certain element within said nationality or religion that is sanctioning/supporting the murder(s). To the critic, I suppose it does depend. To me, it doesn't. Why people do things like this is a difficult question to answer, and yet simplistic responses come up first. But again. Presenting this as "U.S. - Canada relations," as if Canada should question being allies with us, as if Canadians lives are in danger because of it - is telling. Odd that you would overlook that. Frankly, I don't read posts as thoroughly as I used to, so it's not that odd. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
olpfan1 Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 No value? I offer up this instead: Dawson College (2006) Concordia University (1992) École Polytechnique (1989) Good for you Dawson College - 1 dead Concordia University - 4 dead Ecole Poltechnique Massacre - 14 dead ..Ecole was the worst in Canadian history but you're seriously going to point out shootings where 1-4 were killed? is that all you have? because if that is the criteria I could post 94 instances where at least 1 person was killed in a U.S school shooting Quote
olpfan1 Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 Then why is Canada still there? I wish they weren't but it's not the Canadian troops that are screwing up the most its yours Quote

But there are shootings, and to make it worse, Canada gets the Gun Registry...LOL! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Why are Canadians so relatively violent! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Why are Canadians so relatively violent! So then doesn't that mean U.S should have national gun control laws instead of state? That is if you're saying there's more people in the U.S therefore there would be more people with mental health issues to deal with Quote

Yes, because it was torture and death, with cover-up by the Airborne Regiment command. In the end, nobody was really held accountable. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

bush_cheney2004 Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 the CIA has probably done some bigger atrocities than Canadian forces have ever done put together over the years Gosh...I hope so. That's what we pay them for. Shady Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 Let's not forget what this is probably a result of. It's blowback for the killings by Afghans, and Afghan military personnel of American soldiers and trainers. It's blowback for the neanderthal-like reactions to American soldiers burning pieces of paper that Al Qaeda and Taliban prisoners were using to communicate with each other. Some might even say, Afghans had it coming. Quote
