Yeah, too bad for them though, they abandoned their home country

Complete nonsense. Everyone here has the freedom to move. This isn't Cuba. We don't have a giant wall keeping people here against their will.

If they move to another country and raise a family there they dont need their canadian citizenship

Other than knowing that Elizabeth May is obnoxious I can't say I know a lot about the Green party. I would like to get to know their policies a bit more so I'm starting this thread. Maybe people can jump in and say what they like about the Greens and what they don't like.

The Green Party of Canada is like the Liberal Party of Canada in terms of official policies, except very very pro-environment.

The party's policybook is very moderate, and they party has been called eco-capitalist.

The Greens are nothing like similar parties in the US or Europe, which are socialist.

Yeah, too bad for them though, they abandoned their home country and are now making their own families

in the US I see no reason why they should keep Canadian citizenship

I can see a reason....visit home province every six months to keep "free" health care benefits.

If I was making my life in a new country I'd revoke my Canadian citizenship.. but thats just me

This is only necessary for specific goals. You can't "revoke" your own citizenship, but you can renounce it:

I know zilch about the Green Party agenda. I don't intentionally pay attention to them. My recollections of May are her pointy fingers and her constant shouting to drown out other speakers in national election debates. Oh, and when she stands up to ask a question in the House? I'm startled to see her there. That's when I remember she's the lone Green MP.

I know three Canadians who do this routinely...perfectly legal. This is consistent with the underlying economic reasons for leaving Canada in the first place.

Her party's inconsequence also means her strong Anglican religious ties don't get much attention, something that seems to irk many here.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. This seems to be a false dichotomy. Politicians could answer the questions asked of them or explain what's in their platforms, rather than telling potential voters to go read it themselves.

Maybe a politicians word is more likely to be true of it's in writing but I'm probably just grasping here.

I can't believe anything any politician says. There's just no way to tell the honest one's from the liars and it seems more prudent to conclude they're all liars until otherwise proven honest.

I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical,
a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

Really the only honest one was Jack Layton imo

She best keep her religion to herself then.. British Columbians are not very religious

She was blaming her loss OF 500,000 voters on the fact she could not enter the debate, but IMO she lost those voters because of her performance in the debate before, where she came off as a very arrogant, unkept lady ,by the way she treated the PM with such disrespect on national TV.

He lied thru his teeth to all canadians about his health, he should have been forward about that. I am sure he knew he was not going to be around. Remember he was a polition and even I like the guy.
