Bob Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Personally, I'd have liked to have seen OBL on "Dancing With The Stars" opposite Kirstie Alley. Alas...this will never be. Even funnier than you joke is the fact that Manny doesn't get it. Quote My blog - bobinisrael.blogspot.com - I am writing on it, again!
DogOnPorch Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Even funnier than you joke is the fact that Manny doesn't get it. Meh...call me a hopeless romantic. Headline reads: "OBL and Kristie Alley to tie the knot!" Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
Guest American Woman Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Not to mention OBL has a bunch of relatives. His first wife said that he used to prepare his children for suicide bombings. The source you cited was pre-9-11 and according to the brother-in-law, bin Laden told his children what he did about living in peace with the West, not living a life of jihad, and obtaining university educations in Europe and America after 9-11; in other words, he had a change of heart. Guest American Woman Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) You really believe that? That OBL had a change of heart? Actually, no, I don't believe that he had a change of heart - I believe he had regrets about how it affected his family, so he changed his mind about encouraging them to live a life of jihad. Sadah, whose sister Amal was the fifth wife of the late al Qaeda leader, told The (London) Sunday Times that bin Laden had regrets about the impact September 11 had on his family. I understand exactly what you mean regarding family having the greatest likelihood of causing a person to reconsider even his or her deepest convictions. This story, however, doesn't convince me at all. Seems like post-mortem lies from an OBL family member. Quote My blog - bobinisrael.blogspot.com - I am writing on it, again!

Bob Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 What purpose would the lies serve? Softening OBL's image, and by extension the relative's by attempting to lessen guilt-by-association. Also, an attempt to sell this lie of the children being absolved from terrorist obligations as passed on by the father. Islamists lie all the time. It's what they do. Maybe just like Harper, he also thought the jihad was an unwinnable war and, on second thoughts, the best tactic of wealthy jihadists like him were to aim at the most vulnerable spot of democracy---that meant jihadists should live in peace in the USA as model citizens--each of them shoud marry dozens of wives and breed hundrends of kids, so one day the USA would become the greatest Islamic state in the world and if there still were some nations un-Islanmic, F=35s, lol, F-350000000s would bravo them to follow this new fashion of universal value. jbg Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Well, he obviously couldn't have hated the West too much ........... Puzzling, to say the least. Why would he want his children to live where he/his people were/are killing civilians? What if they were killed in a terrorist attack in the West? He aspired to the caliphate. He was happy for the 15 jihadis to die as the planes slammed into buildings. His children were not on the planes. jbg Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 I thought it was 19. You are almost right. 15 slammed into building, another 4 into a field in Pennsylvania.
