kactus Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Excerpt from the article: The court in Malaysia where the trial took place may not have the power to convict, but the verdict against the former British and American leaders was unanimous. “War criminals have to be dealt with – convict Bush and Blair as charged. A guilty verdict will serve as a notice to the world that war criminals may run but can never ultimately hide from truth and justice,” the statement from the Perdana Global Peace Foundation read. And the report goes on: The tribunal, which consisted of a former federal judge and several academics, paid particular attention to the failure of the Western military to find a single weapon of mass destruction in Iraq. WMDs were cited by the Western coalition as a major reason for their military intervention. It also declared the war to be in contravention of the will of the United Nations. “The evidence showed that the drums of war were being beaten long before the invasion. The accused in their own memoirs have admitted their intention to invade Iraq regardless of international law,” said the tribunal. Yeah, but the law didn't affect him...just Bush and Obama (and future presidents)....I'm certain in the coming years, in post 9/11 world, you'll see that changed....If you look at it....who's left....Carter, Clinton, both Bushes and in about a year, Obama.... Well, atleast their conscious is clear that people don't buy anymore into the WMD stories Bush/ Blair cooked up before the invasion. Remember the Hutton inquiry and Dr David Kelly's death? Lessons to be learned on foreign policy. Quote
kactus Posted November 24, 2011 Author Report Posted November 24, 2011 Great...when do war criminals Chretien, Chirac, and Clinton get convicted? Shhhh! Don't tell that to the french who objected the Bush/ Blair invasion of Iraq. Recall the french fries name change to freedom fries? On March 11, 2003 Representatives Robert W. Ney (R-Ohio) and Walter B. Jones, Jr. (R-North Carolina) declared that all references to French fries and French toast on the menus of the restaurants and snack bars run by the House of Representatives would be removed. House cafeterias were ordered to rename French fries "freedom fries". This action was carried out without a congressional vote, under the authority of Ney's position as Chairman of the Committee on House Administration, which oversees restaurant operations for the chamber. The simultaneous renaming of French toast to "freedom toast" attracted less attention.[1] A snack bar sign advertising "American" fries at Knott's Berry Farm. The sign formerly read "French". According to a statement released by Ney, this move was intended to express displeasure with France's "continued refusal to stand with their U.S. allies" (see Iraq disarmament crisis). The statement further read: "This action today is a small but symbolic effort to show the strong displeasure many on Capitol Hill have with our so-called ally, France."[1][2] Full article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_fries Quote
Guest American Woman Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Great...when do war criminals Chretien, Chirac, and Clinton get convicted? Or how about Hamas' war criminals? ------------------------------- The symbolic trial began on Saturday at the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal (KLWCC) in the Malaysian capital. It is part of the Perdana Global Peace Foundation, an initiative by former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad who is an outspoken critic of the Iraq war. Interesting quote by Mahathir Mohamad: "The Europeans killed six million Jews out of 12 million. But today the Jews rule this world by proxy. They get others to fight and die for them.…We are up against a people who think. They survived 2000 years of pogroms not by hitting back, but by thinking. They invented and successfully promoted socialism, communism, human rights, and democracy so that persecuting them would appear to be wrong, so they may enjoy equal rights with others. With these they have now gained control of the most powerful countries and they, this tiny community, have become a world power. We cannot fight them through brawn alone. We must use our brains also. Of late because of their power and their apparent success they have become arrogant. And arrogant people, like angry people, will make mistakes, will forget to think." Another: "The expulsion of Jews from the Holy Land 2,000 years ago and the Nazi oppression of Jews have taught them nothing. If anything at all, it has transformed the Jews into the very monsters that they condemn so roundly in their propaganda material. They have been apt pupils of the late Dr. Goebbels." So Jews are "monsters." I doubt we'll be seeing any trials against Hamas purposely targeting and killing civilians any time soon. But do let's praise him for his condemnation of Bush and Blair. link As a side note, he also said: In September 2001, the World Trade Centre was attacked allegedly by terrorists. I am not sure now that Muslim terrorists carried out these attacks. There are strong evidences that the attacks were staged. If they can make Avatar, they can make anything. link (all emphasis mine) Quote

Guest Manny Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Never too much. Ridiculous. It nice to have dreams of a better world. But in a realistic sense, we come from a history of blodd and injustice. Almost everything in our society was created by causing harm to others, man, animal, and nature. But the biggest impediment to achieve justice is a lack of willpower. Too many people don't believe in anything besides serving themselves first. That is why i said it. Only a miracle can save us now... Quote
