cybercoma Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 The police believe the death threats, and unless anyone has any actual evidence to the contrary the CBC published unverified gossip, they (as of of now) do not have the actual recording. As for CBC publishing gossip, they've gone back to their sources after the rest of MSM jumped on them and accused them of lying: The CBC is standing by their story. “There were multiple sources who gave us information about the 911 call,” said CBC News spokesman Chris Ball. “We have reconfirmed with our sources and they stand behind what they have told us.” And I'm glad you brought up the tapes because Rob Ford can completely clear the air and make CBC look like complete tools by allowing the tapes to be released. There's a problem though: Speaking to reporters at Don Bosco Catholic Secondary School — where the mayor coaches football — Ford said it was up to the police, not him, to release the recording. Except when The Star talked to the police, they said: If Rob Ford asks Toronto police for a recording of the 911 call he made Monday morning after he was ambushed at his home by This Hour Has 22 Minutes, they will release it to him.“And he could do with it whatever he chose,” said police spokesman Mark Pugash. What does he have to hide? What's taking so long for him to release the tapes? Maybe it takes a couple days to edit the tapes. Quote
scribblet Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 From what I heard today, the tapes can only be released through a court of law... I'll believe the CBC when I hear the actual recording, as should anyone else, what exactly are their sources - gossip? Who would edit the recordings (tapes aren't used anymore) and how would Ford have the technology and know how to edit them. BTW, which recording was this profanity supposedly used on - the 2nd call he made from home, or the the (3rd) call made by 911 to him while he was on the road. BubberMiley Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) From what I heard today, the tapes can only be released through a court of law... The vague anonymous source you are hearing must be wrong, because the Star cited an actual human being and spokesperson for the police Mark Pugash saying he could have the tape if he asks for it, and “he could do with it whatever he chose.” Seems to me that if the police are coming out and making that offer, they know what's on it and are calling his bluff. But keep trying. You could always go for the "derangement syndrome" angle if things get really desperate. cybercoma Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 I forgot to post the link earlier and it appears to have since been updated. I'm not sure if any of the pieces I quoted have been changed. However, here's hte article: http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1076717--ford-can-get-911-call-recording-if-he-asks-for-it-toronto-police?bn=1 Quote
cybercoma Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) I love the pics too. It shows Ford smiling at the initial encounter, then getting pissed as he realized what was going on. Emergency? I don't effin think so. http://photogallery.thestar.com/1077350 And he's full of crap if he says he didn't know who they were or what was going on... the GIANT 22 Minutes logo on the mic didn't give it away? WWWTT Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 CP24 is playing the incident over and over! Yep Ford used bad judgement! This guy is an embarasement! cybercoma Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Frankly, Shady, I couldn't possibly care any less about his politics--he's not my mayor. This has everything to do with the fact that he's a misogynist and a compulsive liar. He's a drunk that beat his wife and threatened to kill her. He has no problems flipping off a woman with her child in tow or berating fans at Leafs games. He mumbles under his breath that he knows of an adjective that starts with B to describe a kids author voicing her concerns about closing libraries. He has been caught lying to the media and admitted as much by issuing an apology for it. Now, he was apparently verbally abusive to 911 operators, but we can't be sure? Given his character and the fact that he won't release the 911 tapes to the media, I'm pretty sure he probably was. I could be the staunchest conservative and would still find Ford disgusting and an insult to the Right. He's a completely classless misogynist and gives real conservatives in Toronto a bad name by claiming to represent them. Quote
Shady Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Your pseudo-concern for Toronto conservatives is immensely amusing! Quote
cybercoma Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Oh, believe me. I have no concern for Toronto conservatives. The fact of the matter is that his revolting behaviour has nothing to do with his political leanings. That's my point. Quote

Shwa Posted October 28, 2011 Author Report Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) When I see Mayor Ford now, I am reminded of Biff Tannen from 'Back to the Future.' No matter how many times the movie is replayed, Biff still ends up in a big pile of shit. They even have a similar vocabulary. Edited October 28, 2011 by Shwa Quote

scribblet Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 I'm not from Toronto so don't care one way or another, but until we hear the tapes, again, everything is supposition and innuendo. Ford's daughter heard screaming on 911 tapes TORONTO -- Mayor Rob Ford's daughter Stephanie can be heard screaming in the background during one of his 911 calls, says a source who has heard the tapes of the three emergency calls.Ford dialed 911 from his cellphone after being confronted by a TV crew from CBC's This Hour Has 22 Minutes in the driveway of his west Toronto home Monday. Sources who listened to the tapes Thursday said the three calls include two calls Ford makes to 911 and a third call the 911 dispatch centre made to the mayor's cellphone when cops arrived and he wasn't home. Over the three calls, the source said Ford moves from acting afraid and nervous about what he describes as "being attacked," to being extremely frustrated that the cops have yet to show up at his house. In the final call, Ford -- on his way to City Hall for Monday's city council meeting -- said it was "too late" when the 911 dispatch centre called him. "I waited 15 f---ing minutes, I'm on my way down to City Hall," the source said, repeating Ford's words. Two sources who heard the tape acknowledged Ford did use the F-word more than once, but denied he said "bitch" or directed the swearing at the operators. In the first call, Ford is clearly upset by his run-in with comedian Mary Walsh. Walsh, portraying her 22 Minutes character Marg Delahunty, princess warrior, can be heard yelling in the background, the source said. At one point on one of the tapes, Ford's six-year-old daughter Stephanie can also be heard crying out. cont... Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province

I'd like to see how this would be used against Ford in an election campaign, in 3 years. Not really a make or break for him with 3 budgets left to do. Quote
cybercoma Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Who are these "sources" that heard the tapes? The official position of the police is that they cannot discuss the content of the tapes, but Rob Ford may release them if he wants. The only source that allegedly knows what was said and has been named is Doug Ford. Also, do you not think that perhaps Ford's daughter was screaming because he went into the house and started yelling, swearing and calling 911? He was probably yelling at his daughter too, telling her to hide or something. It's hardly any wonder she was screaming with the way he was carrying on. Quote

Really - maybe anything the CBC or the Star says is a lie... I'd like to know the sources too, including the CBC's, but again I'll reserve judgement until I hear the recordings, and, the whole unedited tape of the CBC ambush. The CBC really needs to produce both recordings if it wants to preserve it's own integrity - the CBC started this one, they need to finish it. It seems this 'comedienne' hasn't been on the show for a long time so was brought back just for this, methinks they should've left her out to pasture. mentalfloss Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) Pressure mounts for Mayor Ford to release tape of 911 call If Rob Ford asks Toronto police for a recording of the 911 calls he made after he was ambushed at his home by This Hour Has 22 Minutes, they will release it to him. • He said, she said: Mary Walsh vs Rob Ford (I strongly recommend clinking this link) “It could be released to him and he could do with it whatever he chose,” said police spokesman Mark Pugash. The disputed contents of that call have stirred fresh controversy for the embattled mayor following a CBC News report alleging Ford berated the 911 dispatcher in a profanity-laced tirade. Ford admitted to using the F-word in the call, but has denied insulting the female operator, calling the CBC report “absolutely false.” But pressure was mounting Thursday against Ford from within City Hall to obtain and release the tapes to set the allegations straight. Left-wing councillor Joe Mihevc said “it's absolutely important for the tapes to be released to clear the air,” adding Torontonians should know how their elected officials treat city staff. madmax Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Apparently, they scared the hell out of his kid, setting it to crying. Marg should be ashamed of herself! If the CBC crew had had half a brain cell and were not just totally self-centred on their own interests they would have not ambushed Ford outside his home, with his kid! They could have picked a parking lot, where if anyone was with him they would likely be adult. Scaring his kid into tears was unnecessary and frankly, unforgiveable. No doubt the lefties will cry that since it was Ford's kid the poor rightwing tyke deserved it! Marg and her CBC crew were just unfeeling bastards and that's the long and the short of it. its gotta be embarrassing to the people of Toronto that they actually elected Rob Ford for Mayor. Quote
