bush_cheney2004 Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 Im not trying to help any "atheist" argument. Im trying to explain to you what this thread is about both in terms of the literal meaning of these words, and also the intent of the OP's author. Are you the OP author? Do you propose to not only speak for the author but to also limit the definition of atheist for your own purpose? I am a pagan.....deal with it instead of trying to shut me up. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
g_bambino Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 Nothing wrong with ignorance, willful or othewise, unless it is imposed on others. Wrong, perhaps not; wrong and right are subjective. Ignorance, though, can be damning to the person who's ignorant. Quote
betsy Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 (edited) CONFUSED! Did I mention that already? The New Atheist is an utterly confused individual who doesn't even know where he truly stands. Mind you, confusion is not exclusive to the new atheists.....but the amount of confusion the new atheists suffer from are such that it seems they don't even know when they're coming or going! For samples of tremendous confusion (suffered by the same bunch who exhibits other new atheistic charactyeristics), check out the other boards on Religion - especially the ones that I've created. betsy Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 NOISY CHATTERERS. I don't know. Perhaps this is in their effort to tap into their core...but they exhibit monkey-like behaviours when they get agitated or disturbed by a statement or argument. The same bunch - which I affectionately now refer to as the "Doo-Wap Choir" - come out usually as a group to pelt you with adhominem - much like a naughty monkey at the zoo throws poo at gawkers! Some are not only adhominem....but rather still gibberish. Still hard to decipher. Quote

cybercoma Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 (edited) If anyone else posted in giant bold font with a sea of yellow smilies in any other forum they would be banned. People have asked several times already without running to the moderators. I'm going to try and politely ask you again to cut it out, betsy. It's obnoxious and makes the threads difficult to read. So, please stop it. You can make your points without it. If they don't stand on their own without your formatting diarrhea, then they're not points worth making. betsy Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 (edited) Regarding the Doo-wap choir, I'm reminded of a scene from an old Dracula movie starring Bela Lugosi, when he said: "Ahhhh....children of the night. What beautiful music they make....." Edited August 25, 2011 by betsy Quote
betsy Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 (edited) Another tell-tale sign of a new atheist is that of being.....blind. Literally. They tend to overlook, or skip, or miss what are usually the most important logic of an argument or rebuttal....hence, they fail to address or respond to it directly. Thus along the way of debating - borne initially out of frustration - and which lately became an adapted style when dealing with those who exhibit the new atheistic tendencies - I've resorted to using bold, huge fonts. Btw, speaking of huge fonts....do you know how to make them "flash"? If I could learn how to do that, and if it's available, it will also be used along with the bold! The better to see. And of course, along with being blind, there's also the problem with deafness. The Wit of Dr. Craig - Part 22 "The Repetitive Atheist" Of course, the discliples of the 4 Horsemen are all using and following the examples of their leaders. Therefore, the same thing is mirrorred on all forums and boards! At times, I'm sorely tempted to yell. Edited August 25, 2011 by betsy Quote

As I've mentioned before, you are just a source of fun for me. Trade a few posts with the religious nut bar over coffee. Amaze over the reality that you think fossils are tricks of the Devil, etc. You're a sociology paper waiting to happen. Please continue... Usually when one reads something, one can feel the emotion being evoked by the writer. Most definitely when the writer feels mirth or amusement, that emotion transcends and is felt and even visualized by the reader. Weird thing.....when I read your post above, I visualized a sour puss instead. You don't evoke like you're having fun at all. Maybe....you got problems with creative writing? Quote
DogOnPorch Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 When I go up to the Pine Pass, I always like to search the old railway cuts for fossils of sea creatures from the old Jurassic seabed that is now about 5000' above sea level. Now if you picked-up the same fossil...or fossils since every rock contains thousands of them...what would your conclusion as to how it got there be? Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
