Boges Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Sun News Network is proud to announce Michael Coren -- renowned author, commentator and broadcaster -- will host a new show in prime time called Coren Tonight."Coren is not afflicted by the politically correct self-censorship that plagues most commentators. He is perfect for Sun News," said Sun News spokesman Luc Lavoie. The show will be debuting in August at 7:00 p.m. ET on weeknights and repeated later in the evenings. For the past 12 years, Coren has hosted The Michael Coren Show on CTS, a Canadian Christian TV station. His weekly column appears in Sun newspapers and he has written for the Catholic Register, the Women's Post, the Landowner and the Interim. He is the bestselling author of 13 books, including biographies of writers G.K. Chesterton, H.G. Wells, Arthur Conan Doyle, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. His most recent book, Why Catholics Are Right, has been a Canadian bestseller for 11 weeks and has gone into its third printing. "Whether it is taking on radical Islam or exposing political hypocrisy, Michael Coren has proven to be one of the most fearless, substantive commentators in Canada," said Sun News vice-president Kory Teneycke. "Michael has strong opinions, but he is also fair. He loves to debate his opponents and challenge conventional thinking." This is great news. I'm a big fan of his. He's a Christian media personality which is something rare in Canadian media. If anyone watches his show on CTS you'd know he's not into just putting people that agree with him on the air. He's always putting different people with different opinions. I just hope the new show will be a panel discussion like his current show. I find all the shows on Sun News are the same. Host talks, does and interview, talks again, has another Sun News host on to discuss another issue, talks again. Having regular guests on to discuss issues in a group is a far better idea for the show. I guess we'll see. Quote

Michael Hardner Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 He's a big yawn, IMO. A skinny Canadian Rush Limbaugh in a bowtie, replete with that reedy-voiced politeness that brands us like a flag stitched on a backpack. They need to get Kevin O'Leary. Shady Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 (edited) You clearly have never watched his show. Exactly. He doesn't watch Coren, or listen to Limbaugh. But he's probably just going by what he's been "told" by others. Edited June 29, 2011 by Shady Quote
Shady Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I find coren unwatchable, unreadable and unlikable I enjoy his show for the variety of guests, not necessarily because of him. Quote
Topaz Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 What is so good about Ezra Levant? He's all one-sided and if SunTV wants viewers, they should have more people who look at both sides but then we are talking about Fox North. Quote
Black Dog Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Get real. He's not skinny, and he's nothing like Rush Limbaugh. If he's not skinny, then he's at least he's somewhat like Rush Limbaugh. Quote
Michael Hardner Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 You clearly have never watched his show. Apparently, he has gained weight since I last opted to not change the channel when he appeared on the screen. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
Oleg Bach Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 At one time with nothing better to do - I would debate Coren on talk radio - Then one day I took my youngest son to the live performance by Coren. It was a forum where same sex marriage was discussed. I never through that there was such a thing as a homo - phobic ...but Coren actually was too frightened to stand beside a drag queen guised up as a hetro-bride. He did a little dash to the side like a kid - perhaps not to be in a photo - I am not sure. Seeing Coren for a while being born Jewish and a Catholic convert liked to play both sides of the fence....I complained in these regards that he was an opportunist..which he proved to be seeing his back ground is one of poverty and lack of social status....After the gay marriage debate was over - he dashed to the back of the room where he had set up a mini book store to hock his wears.....the guy seemed desperate to make an extra few bucks...worst of all - His wife sprank up in the middle of the debate and struck me as being hysterical....Coren is entitled to success as we all are....BUT he does lack loyalty and honour ...having come from an unprivleded back ground....he is bound and determined to make his finacial and social mark in Canada.............Good luck.....with the new show....and keep the wife at home bare foot - pregnant and Catholic....when opportune - switch the family back to Judaism. Shady Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 If he's not skinny, then he's at least he's somewhat like Rush Limbaugh. True. Although Limbaugh's weight seems to fluctuate. Quote
Oleg Bach Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Exactly - Coren is primarily a buisness man just like Rush. Quote
Shady Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Exactly - Coren is primarily a buisness man just like Rush. Yes, so Michael Coren is just like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates then. Business men too. Quote
Oleg Bach Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Yes, so Michael Coren is just like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates then. Business men too. If Coren could be Bill Gates he would jump at the chance. The point I am making and I have followed Coren for a number of years is that he is materially driven and has figured out the system - a system that will allow himself and his family to prosper. If you actually believe that Coren is a man of rigid and noble principals...give me a break. :eyes roll: Quote

Apples and oranges my friend. Or has Michael Coren done an impersonaltion of Michael J Fox? Quote
Boges Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 Great. But it doesn't mean it's the same product delivered by Rush Limbaugh. Apples and oranges my friend. Or has Michael Coren done an impersonaltion of Michael J Fox? Wow an author trying to sell his books, what a concept! Quote
Shady Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Wow an author trying to sell his books, what a concept! LOL, exactly! Poor Oleg thinks he's forced to buy them, or to watch him on television. What a maroon! Quote
Oleg Bach Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Wow an author trying to sell his books, what a concept! Coren was supposed to be at the debate I mentioned to do a specific thing regarding a specific topic...setting up a book stand and attempting to take advantage of a crowd assembled for a specific purpose other than buying HIS latest book...........well - he looked hyper and greedy...it simply was not a becoming sight to behold. Oleg Bach Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Great. And what does that have to do with anything related to this topic? Just letting you know from personal experience what I think of the character of Michael Coren. He is no great saviour or intellectual giant about to save the world by shooting his mouth off on some slot at Sun Media. He is out for himself and his dear family - after all being the son of some poor Jewish cab driver ---------he wants to better himself.....and he did and will! But as for giving him credit for being an out spoken man of social salvation - he is useful ----but if it meant losing his income - by telling the truth - He will stay mum. Quote

Oleg Bach Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Once again, great. Nobody was suggesting that. Better to have Coren around than not. At least he is a bit cutting edge and at least he will stir up the pot...and at least more good will be done than not - OKAY - I am a Coren supporter....just letting you know that he's no more perfect than you or I......eyes roll....man falls to his knees and worships another talking head////////////////oh well. Boges Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 It's sorta like saying a band isn't supposed to try and sell their CD's and Merchandise at their concert. They are just there to sing. Quote
