wyly
Our leaders are weak and afraid to go after the problems in our society because of political correctness. That is weak. not strong leaders that eliminated democracy like Fransico and his pals Adolf and Benito?...with you supporting that view and accusing teachers of brainwashing our children with opposing views that would only confirm the teachers have got it right...Yep vets defended this country and now our government is allowing all our 'former' enemies to move to Canada legally. And pay them welfare and give them free healthcare with taxes that vets paid. Nice country. Canada is turning into a third world toilet not unlike the countries so many immigrants came from. show me the stats of all the german, italian and Japanese immigrants that are on welfare and turning our country into a toilet...I'm about as likely to see those stats as I am the list of long term european socialist countries whose economies you claim are in the toilet... Mr.Canada
The vast majority of our immigration isn't from Europe or Japan. Most of the immigrants that come from there aren't here to reunite families but are here for business reasons. Well, he might mean Americans; though I imagine he rather worships them, and at any rate they were enemies of the British, never enemies of Canada as Canada. He might be talking about Natives. Sounds confused, but that's par for the course. Since he likes Franco, I suppose he considers Canadians, Brits, Americans et al to be enemies as well. betsy
Teachers are the greatest source of socialist brainwashing that exists in our children's lives. You bet. That's why I make it a point to instruct my Christian charges and prepare them for those people who'd criticise or try to change their belief. cybercoma
betsy, beliefs ought to be criticized. You do it all the time when you condemn people for believing in a woman's right to choose whether or not to have an abortion, when Mr. Canada condemns Muslims as being barbaric or homosexuals. Don't be such a hypocrite. What you prepare your "charges" for is ignorance. You prepare them for ignoring new ideas and closing their minds to introspection and holding their beliefs up to scrutiny. I imagine they probably do exactly what you do on these forums time and again: put their fingers in their ears and go "la la la, I can't hear you". betsy
Anyway, it's not the teachers - although they are the ones doing the dirty works. It's the system that's telling them what to teach. More important, the system that's telling them what not to teach! Shwa
Anyway, it's not the teachers - although they are the ones doing the dirty works. It's the system that's telling them what to teach. More important, the system that's telling them what not to teach! The "system" you refer to is no doubt the public education system which should always have a hands-off attitude towards religion or religious input except for the purposes of examination and critical thinking of it as a topic. And Blessed Be that Fact. If you don't like this public education system brainwashing you are free to choose a compatible and legitimate religious or private school. Or put your kid in the Catholic school board. They teach about the bible and stuff there so that shouldn't be any problem for any Christian whatsoever. But believe me, we aren't going backwards in the public education system so find your own.

What is problematic about that is how the leftists will try to get in and hijack the schools....demanding that Christian doctrines be changed to accomodate political correctness. Awww c'mon. They push the leftists/atheistic views and agendas! Last Christimas alone, my kid came home from school with all art projects depicting "Holiday" traditions from other cultures....all except anything related to the Christian Christmas! Our education system's been hijacked by leftists who are out to target Christianity. That's "examinations" and "critical thinking" alright. betsy
The only consolation now is what to be a somewhat shift in the "climate." You know what's the shift usually by observing what Hollywood is churning up. Maybe it's just coincidence or wishful thinking on my part....but lately, Hollywoods's been showing movies with Christian slant, or positive views about God or life after death. The most recent movie I saw was HEREAFTER which was produced and directed by Clint Eastwood. I was surprised to see the part when the journalist/book writer asked a publisher who refuses to publish her book about her experience and the hereafter. She asked: "Why are you afraid to face this?" The Publisher says: "We are a political publisher." To which she countered, "This is political!" The movie also showed a scene regarding a scientist/atheist who ended up believing that there's something after death. It is a very provocative movie. Quite refreshing after decades of Christian-bashing!
