bloodyminded Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) More "extremism" from the "fanatics." "**** Hamas. **** Israel. **** Fatah. **** UN. **** UNWRA. **** USA! We, the youth in Gaza, are so fed up with Israel, Hamas, the occupation, the violations of human rights and the indifference of the international community! "We want to scream and break this wall of silence, injustice and indifference like the Israeli F16s breaking the wall of sound; scream with all the power in our souls in order to release this immense frustration that consumes us because of this fucking situation we live in... "We are sick of being caught in this political struggle; sick of coal-dark nights with airplanes circling above our homes; sick of innocent farmers getting shot in the buffer zone because they are taking care of their lands; sick of bearded guys walking around with their guns abusing their power, beating up or incarcerating young people demonstrating for what they believe in; sick of the wall of shame that separates us from the rest of our country and keeps us imprisoned in a stamp-sized piece of land; sick of being portrayed as terrorists, home-made fanatics with explosives in our pockets and evil in our eyes; sick of the indifference we meet from the international community, the so-called experts in expressing concerns and drafting resolutions but cowards in enforcing anything they agree on; we are sick and tired of living a shitty life, being kept in jail by Israel, beaten up by Hamas and completely ignored by the rest of the world. "There is a revolution growing inside of us, an immense dissatisfaction and frustration that will destroy us unless we find a way of canalising this energy into something that can challenge the status quo and give us some kind of hope. "We barely survived the Operation Cast Lead, where Israel very effectively bombed the shit out of us, destroying thousands of homes and even more lives and dreams. During the war we got the unmistakable feeling that Israel wanted to erase us from the face of the Earth. During the last years, Hamas has been doing all they can to control our thoughts, behaviour and aspirations. Here in Gaza we are scared of being incarcerated, interrogated, hit, tortured, bombed, killed. We cannot move as we want, say what we want, do what we want. "ENOUGH! Enough pain, enough tears, enough suffering, enough control, limitations, unjust justifications, terror, torture, excuses, bombings, sleepless nights, dead civilians, black memories, bleak future, heart-aching present, disturbed politics, fanatic politicians, religious bullshit, enough incarceration! WE SAY STOP! This is not the future we want! We want to be free. We want to be able to live a normal life. We want peace. Is that too much to ask?" http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jan/02/free-gaza-youth-manifesto-palestinian Edited April 19, 2015 by Michael Hardner profanity Quote As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand. --Josh Billings
eyeball Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 I recall reading, some time ago now actually, that Palestinians were the fastest growing population in the ME. ...Fuck the indifference of the international community! I think I'll write them a note and ask them to fuck the international community of governments instead. That's their real problem, our's too. We're not all like that. I know I ain't no senator's son. [email protected] Yeah, well, "international community," rightly or wrongly, more often than not means "governments." Just as, in the wikileaks situation, "Arabs support an attack on Iran" actually means the Arab dictators--the only Arabs we like--as opposed to the Arab population, who have a very different view. bloodyminded Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 At any rate, I wonder if the youths' criticism of Israel, the US et al will automatically drive poeple into thinking they're "extremists"? bloodyminded Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 I do say so. The Edelweiss Pirates stood up to fascism, as well. Or is that not a good thing in your opinion? Of course it is. But the analogy doesn't flesh out. These youths are angered at a lot more than the obvious Hamas oppression. Rightfully so. Jack Weber Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 I applaud these young people for publicly coming out against the Islamofascists "speaking" for them... I just wonder how many of them will suffer from the extrajudicial killings that Islamofascist thugs like Hamas are famous for in silencing any dissent? bloodyminded Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 I applaud these young people for publicly coming out against the Islamofascists "speaking" for them... They also come out against Israeli oppressors, American gangsters, and the mixed indifference and derision they feel emanating from much of the world. I applaud this too. They're clearly very nervous about this, but seem pretty courageous. They're trying to think through their next step carefully. True, but they live in Gaza and Hamas runs the show there. It is Hamas they are going to have to answer to,unfortunately. And they should be nervous.Thinking is a hard thing to do when a Muslim is labeled for assisting "the Infidel" in an Islamofascist bullring...One tends to lose one's head in these situations,if you catch my drift... scribblet Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Maybe if they can get a more moderate group of leaders they will have a chance at peace. it'll never happen as long as they threaten to obliterate Israel. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/africa-mideast/gazans-losing-enthusiasm-for-hamas/article1838117/ An Israeli fighter jet drew vapour-trail circles in the sky over the centre of Gaza City Tuesday, mocking Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh as he told a crowd of more than 200,000 supporters that the militant Islamic movement remained committed to the destruction of Israel.“We said it five years ago and we say it now … we will never, we will never, we will never recognize Israel,” Mr. Haniyeh shouted as he and the party faithful celebrated the 23rd anniversary of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas. Dumping Hamas and removing the scourge of random rockets fired into Israel would pull the rug out from under Israel in how it treats those people.
