M.Dancer Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 whaaa! Equally unimpressed... Dancer, yes... please... make this the frustrated and bitter Harper Conservatives thread - hey? You've already offered your well respected legal opinion (/snarc) - do you have... more? scribblet Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Surely Avaaz isn't serious with their A victory for people-powered democracy funny sense of democracy they have when they are attempting to shut down freedom of speech. By those lites they must be totally enamoured of the tea party movement. LOL Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province

capricorn Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Their model for democracy it seems consists of hyperventilating, hyperbole, inuendo and anonymous petitions funded by super wealthy american. Go Canada I just heard Avaaz director Ricken Patel on Power and Politics say they have "cleaned up" the petition by removing some 100 names that didn't appear legitimate. Why didn't Solomon ask Patel if they're pressing for a criminal investigation of those behind the illegitimate signatures and if not, why not? Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. You been hitting the liquor cabinet this afternoon, or what? I mean... since you actually replied to this (following) earlier post why would you be asking about whether or not a criminal investigation was, as you say, "being pressed for". capricorn Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Oh brother... I see a joke about male genetalia on it's way... capricorn Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Do you ever play with your husbands putter? Actually, hubby excels at putting and normally only needs two strokes to get it in the hole. So whenever he pulls out his putter I make sure to always get in the way. waldo Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) Speaking about Avaaz and the fact that George Soros was one of its main founders, here's an article by Ezra Levant about Mr. Soros - who doesn't have the the nicest of backgrounds. edited to remove quotes from the fallacious and vile Ezra Levant column The Article: http://www.torontosun.com/comment/2010/09/03/15242476.html well... it seems the intrepid "free speech" champion of the Conservative right, Ezra Levant, has been doing a lot of back-peddaling over this recent piece of vile gutter-snipe bullshit... what could be sweeter than having Fox News North pull Levant's column (as was linked above)... to have Levant pull it from his own web-site. Apparently, George Soros was not impressed and launched a defamation suit. Atta boy, Ezra! Edited September 21, 2010 by waldo Quote

Apparently, George Soros was not impressed and launched a defamation suit. Atta boy, Ezra! Fox News North & one of it's principal gadfly's, Ezra Levant, issue apology to George Soros On September 5, 2010, a column by Ezra Levant contained false statements about George Soros and his conduct as a young teenager in Nazi-occupied Hungary.Upon receiving a letter of complaint from Mr. Soros’s legal counsel on September 13, 2010, Sun Media Corporation always intended to publish a retraction and apology for this column. Despite constant efforts on both sides, Sun Media and Mr. Soros’s counsel were unable to reach agreement on the content of a retraction. The management of Sun Media wishes to state that there is no basis for the statements in the column and they should not have been made. Sun Media, this newspaper and Ezra Levant retract the statements made in the column and unreservedly apologize to Mr. Soros for the distress and harm this column may have caused to him. note: although the intrepid Levant felt compelled to include his vile FNN column on his own website... no groveling retraction has yet appeared there... waiting Quote
waldo Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 fyi to MLW member, "Keepitsimple" (aka Simple, aka Simple ton): in consideration of your want and willingness to blindly post the written word of the intrepid right-wing gadfly, one Ezra Levant, you may wish to edit your previous post in the interests of respecting and protecting this MLW board. I trust this may also give you pause on a personal note. (apparently the Toronto law offices of Blake, Cassels & Graydon are issuing letters to sites/individuals that have chosen to replicate the writings of Ezra Levant (exhibit 'A', councilor)) Quote
