Topaz Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 The OPP and other security aren't giving the press much leeway when it come for the press to do their job. The following article tels of one journalist who works for the Canadian Press, the security he had to go through. The first thing that I thought of was Harper telling the security, to keep the press away from Huntville. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/100625/national/g8_g20_reporter Quote
DFCaper Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 I always thought that the protesters at these summits were mostly idiots. Unfortunately, the plan the government had to control the crowd is the idiot. After seeing on the news the guy with the chainsaw they busted, this security approach is ridicules. I thought this security was to protect the world leaders. If anyone thinks a guy with a chainsaw was a real threat for Obama, then they are the idiots... And with the scrutiny that they are attacking potential "window breakers", I know feel like I know they are wasting the Billion dollars. This is far more offensive than the Libs stealing the 100 million... Harper not only stole my money, but privacy and rights!!! I have read how this goes beyond the G20 even. A Woman outside of Windsor has been harassed to make sure she never attended a windmill opening ceremony, as she is known to be a critic against it. OPP from Toronto are showing up at her house now to harass her... http://www.windsorstar.com/technology/Turbine+critic+alarmed+intimidation/3184139/story.html I am starting to think that Harper is not making our country more right wing, but communist. capricorn Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 The first thing that I thought of was Harper telling the security, to keep the press away from Huntville. Geez. Open Government Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 On the upside of the whole billion dollar security boondoggle, it was reported by CBC last evening that security personnel in Huntsville made two arrests yesterday. One was for possession of marijuana and the other was for shoplifting. Thank goodness there was heavy security presence in the area at the time. http://viableopposition.blogspot.com/ Quote

Shady Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Well done billion dollar rent-a-pigs! Why are they pigs? Most of these so-called pigs are just regular middle class people doing their job. bjre Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 CTV, City TV broadcast the complete video of the burning cars. g_bambino Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) I know, what an odd thought... Yea, it sure is. Only the tinfoil hat brigade would seriously believe the entire affair was a covert, pre-arranged alliance between law enforcement and anarchists. The most glaring question begged, of course, being: if it were some kind of mutually beneficial arrangement, why does it occur only during international summits? The CNE or Calgary Stampede would serve just as well as a venue for chaos, but... Hmm... no burning police cars at either. [punct] Edited June 27, 2010 by g_bambino Quote
Topaz Posted June 27, 2010 Author Report Posted June 27, 2010 When it comes right down to this the blame for all of this, it goes to Harper for having it in Toronto. He jumped to quick for having it and then he jumped to quick by NOT listening to the Mayor of Toronto for having it downtown, what a stupid moron! The Justice minister said he knew that what happen would probably happen then why didn't HE tell the police because they didn't think it would get this bad on the streets. Quote
