HAHAHA OMG, I can't stop laughing at your incredible wit and humour! That's ok, some day you'll find a leader you can believe in too.
-
I see where you're coming from, and why you'd feel that way. That's what its all about now. I may be wrong, but he seemed to care more than anyone else out there, and the more I read about him amd watched him, the more disappointed I became in what we have now. I have been saying for a few years now that the only thing holding Jack back was the orange of the NDP. I believe without a doubt that were he running as a Liberal, he WOULD have become PM by now. I guess Harper can thank Jack for that as well. And if you think it was only Quebec, I suggest you take a look again at Ontario, and how many ridings that would normally have gone Liberal were suddenly split down the middle (many of which went CPC because of that Liberal NDP split).
-
If I may, I will try to explain at least my point of view. I've never met jack. Never been in his presence. I did not even follow his career until the last 6 years or so. But I saw something in Jack I didn't see anywhere else. Not in Harper, Martin, Ignatieff, Day. I saw your every day Canadian. I saw someone who seemed to understand where I was coming gfrom, what I wanted for my country, and seemed to genuinely wanted to make this country better. I saw something better than the whole 'liberals suck'/ 'conservatives suck' bs Canadian Politics has been downgraded to. When I heard, my eyes welled up. I was surprised actually at how it caught me (I do not show emotion very well in public) but it actually hit me like a brick wall. I believe that Canadians believed in Jack. I also firmly believe that many Canadians who had not voted NDP in the past were now truely seeing it as a real choice. I include myself in that category. I voted NDP in the last election for the first time ever. Now, I cannot see anyone at all I believe in enough to vote for them. So yeah, I cried. I cried for Jack. I cried for all those who believed in him. I cried for my country. If that makes me effeminate or weak, or fake in your eyes, so be it. I just hope some day you find someone you truly believe in too.

New Senator Larry Smith Needs Your Help

I would say the 'catastrophic' $132000 comment may put him significantly more out of touch than the name Smith. -

Yep, about 5% of all Canadians!! So it makes you significantly wealthier than the average Canadian. And to call a $132000 a year salary catastrophic? Really? But Liberals are the elitists, right.... -
Or maybe we should ask those people which they would prefer: A ) the TTC spending a boatload of money on new signs that include every language known to man (because I'm fairly certain SOMEBODY in the city speaks each and every one). or B ) spends the money on improving transit so that they can get to their jobs, and make the money that feeds their families. Honestly, a city this size with only two real rapid transit lines? (one north south, one east west) and neither that touches the airport? Really? Yeah, much bigger priorities for the TTC.

I know, what an odd thought... http://www.infowars.com/agent-provocateur-riots-commence-in-london-at-g20/ http://www.infowars.com/provocateur-cops-caught-disguised-as-anarchists-at-g20/ more will come if need be

Speaking as someone who has lived in San Antonio, Detroit, Ottawa, Windsor, London, Edmonton, and any number of smaller communities across Canada, I want to thank you for having no clue what you're talking about The only one I'll give you is Traffic, and maybe if Toronto kept some of the millions and millions of dollars we give to the rest of this country that loves us so much, we could fix that problem too
-
I am laying blame with the police for a reason. There are MANY stories here in the big city about the possibility of certain plain clothes 'officers' inciting the riots, starting the fires, etc. Once again, being here, in Toronto, I find it very funny that each and every time the 'Black Bloc' was up to their antics, the police were nowhere to be found. Where were they? Arresting peaceful protesters of course. I'll say it again, this is one of the most convenient, peaceful and well organised riots I've ever seen.... makes one wonder....
-
If we knew which ones were anarchists, and which ones were paid for by our tax dollars, it might be easier to lay blame. However, in the end, despite everyone in the city of Toronto pleading for it to be held somewhere else, Harper holds it right downtown Toronto. Great call Stephen! If Toronto didn't hate the Tories before, they're done now.....
-
That we know of, I bet there was a bigger presence than you think.... it was an oddly calculated and controlled riot eh? And funny how that seems to have been the only place there was no presence, each and every time... but hey, at least a few cop cars got conveniently burned, and then put on display.... of course, then we had the official police presence rounding up peaceful protesters in Queen's Park... weird how that all worked out.... I can't wait until the full story comes out....
-
These people are more than likely the police themselves. Wouldn't be the first time now would it?
-
But you've answered your own question already......
-
Well, then maybe we should rethink our laws regarding theft, fraud, murder, and any number of other activities that we legally regulate?
-
Well, maybe we should be keeping track of these then eh? I think many Canadians believe it is the woman's right to choose, however, like every other aspect of our lives, there needs to be limitations and rules in place to ensure that the best possible decisions are always made. I guess my question to all opposed to such regulation is why? What is it you are so afraid of? Most Canadians are not asking that abortions be totally outlawed. So what is it you are so afraid of?

Maternal Healthcare and funding for Abortions
CrazeeEddie replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Still no takers eh? I was hoping Molly, who seems to have an answer to everything, would be more than willing to take this on, but of course, as the last 12 pages have attested, when you can't debate, ignore right? Either women are or are not mature enough to make these decisions. Well, then, once again, you agree that STATUTORY rape laws are unnecessary, correct? Not to be confused with ACTUAL rape, where one (or more) participants is not a willing participant in the activity. -
Do you count topless as skimpily clad? Because this is actually quite common on TV, in print, etc.
-
Such as? Feel free to show me exactly how you would respond to opinions you disagree with. Enlighten me with your wisdom. Perhaps this is what I should learn from Ann? This should be good.....

He's either missing the point completely, or being purposefully dishonest about the discussion. I think anyone with any sense of honesty would agree that if Americans could cross the border, get the care Canadians get, and not worry about a bill later (like us), they would. Of course, as we've seen before in this discussion, the only people that matter are those with the big dollars
-
Of course they do, the money is better down there. Doesn't mean the service is better As for the costs, I think you would find that most Canadians would agree that they are too high. But you have to factor in that the population is aging, the younger population is generally unhealthy (due to lack of education on proper eating habits, economic situations, laziness, etc.) and other aspects that generally can't be controlled by health care itself. We are working on the aspects we can control however. The fact remains that each and every Canadian citizen has the access they need to not only EMERGENCY services, but ongoing care, and even preventative care if necessary, regardless of income, social status, etc.
-
Which as explained above has absolutely no relevance to the discussion of which is better, because the average 'American' cannot take advantage of the benefits of the Canadian system. One could argue they can't take advantage of the American one either. What can the US system brag about exactly? That if you are rich you can live? The Canadian system has PLENTY to brag about, the main being that the MAJORITY of Canadians can take advantage of it. You're right, many with CASH can brag, unfortunately, in both nations, that MANY is in the MINORITY. And they call Liberals elitists
