Shady Posted June 15, 2010 Author Report Posted June 15, 2010 So Shady how many people would be able to identify Etheridge? You know the guy you just started a thread about. You set the bar pretty high when you can only criticize those who people recognize but it was you who said it not me. I started a thread about Etheridge because it's news. You know, as in it recently happened. So where is you Mark Standford thread? I did a quick forum search, and it looks like you already created a thread on Mark Sandford. But I noticed you didn't create a thread on Eliot Spitzer or John Edwards, or now Al Gore. Don't hold other people to standards you don't hold yourself to. Quote

punked Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 (edited) Now you're just making stuff up. Go back and look at my posts. I remember this because I read about both of them (which happened the same summer) in the New York Post the only paper I got when I lived in the states due to my room mate loving that rag. Seriously Shady I wasn't here. Just type in a date or something I didn't own a computer that summer. Edited June 16, 2010 by punked Quote

Me either. I probably wouldn't have posted about it because again John Edwards a private citizen, and I still like Spitzer who unlike Ensign resigned the next day after the story. However I wasn't around so I can't say what I would have done. Quote

punked Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Well, you posted about Mark Sanford. I sure did however you might notice when I posted about him it was when he was missing. You know I thought it crazy a governor went hiking on the Appalachian Trail on naked hiking day and that no one could get a hold of him. I didn't post it cause he was cheating I posted it because he left his government for a week and no one could get a hold of him. That is different if you don't see that well of course you don't see how that would be different. Again one was a sitting politician who was lying and who left his state with no way of contacting him, the other is a private citizen who the whole story is a lie about. Which one did you post about.....Hmmmmmm Quote

ToadBrother Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Why do you want me to bud out, are you related to Al? I'm curious as to why it fascinates you. After all, Franklin Roosevelt, who stands in the hallowed halls of the four or five greatest presidents the United States ever had, had a long term relationship with someone other than his wife. Do I approve of his personal actions as per his mistress and his marriage. No, but neither does it meaningfully diminish FDR's accomplishments. Powerful and yes, even great men throughout history have had affairs with someone other than their wives. In aristocratic circles mistresses were and still are extremely common. This is assuming that the story is even true. Quote

Machjo Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Here'sthe Bush vs Gore article: Supreme Court Overturns Bush v. Gore DECEMBER 9, 2008 | ISSUE 44•50 WASHINGTON—In an unexpected judicial turnaround, the Supreme Court this week reversed its 2000 ruling in the landmark case of Bush v. Gore, stripping George W. Bush of his earlier political victory, and declaring Albert Arnold Gore the 43rd president of the United States of America. President Gore, retroactively determined by the Supreme Court to be the winner of the 2000 election, is sworn in for his six-week term. The court, which called its original decision to halt manual recounts in Florida "a ruling made in haste," voted unanimously on Wednesday in favor of the 2000 Democratic nominee. Gore will serve as commander in chief from Dec. 10 to Jan. 20. "Allowing this flaw in judgment to stand would set an unworkable precedent for future elections and cause irreparable harm to the impartiality of this court," said Chief Justice John G. Roberts in his majority opinion. "Furthermore, let me be the first to personally congratulate President Gore on his remarkable come-from-behind victory. May he guide us wisely into this new millennium." Former Texas Rangers owner George W. Bush gets some much-needed rest Monday after his 2000 presidential campaign loss to rival Al Gore. Added Roberts, "The system works." Moments after the court's noontime announcement, Gore was flown to Washington, D.C. aboard Air Force One, sworn in on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, and immediately escorted to a brief victory rally at the National Mall. By 4:30 p.m., his 15 cabinet appointees had been vetted, contacted, and brought to Washington, where they were all simultaneously approved by a majority vote in the Senate. Gore then delivered the first of seven consecutive State of the Union addresses. Shortly after being notified of the court's historic decision, a gracious George W. Bush appeared at a press conference with four hastily packed suitcases to congratulate his 2000 opponent on the decisive victory. "Al Gore has fought a strong and patient campaign, and he has prevailed," said the former Republican candidate and Texas governor. "I wish him nothing but the best, and hope that his leadership will help see this nation through a catastrophic recession, an unending war in Iraq, and the single largest housing crisis in history. Congratulations, Mr. President." In his first and last 42 days as president, Gore will reportedly visit U.S. troops overseas, meet with dignitaries from France, Great Britain, China, Azerbaijan, Japan, and Eastern Europe, formalize a plan to bail out the struggling airline and automotive industries, sign the Kyoto Protocol, take a photo of himself and wife Tipper in front of the White House Christmas tree, and ensure a smooth transition between his own administration to that of incoming president-elect Barack Obama. "Great humility, honor, I'm President," Gore said to a crowd of tourists hastily shuffled into a White House corridor to hear the president deliver his acceptance speech. "Thanks, bye." According to political analysts, the road ahead for President Gore is not an easy one. During his first conference call with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, NATO, OPEC, and the United Nations, Gore admitted that making good on his campaign promises in the next six to eight weeks might be difficult. The president noted his pledge to provide affordable health care to every single child in the U.S. by 2004 as "specifically in need of possible amending." Gore also withdrew his intentions to pay off the national debt by 2012. Although the president has already instituted a number of impressive environmental initiatives, he has drawn criticism from Republicans who claim that he is completely unprepared to deal with the current national climate. "Throughout the entirety of his 2000 campaign, never once did Gore mention the tragedy of 9/11, or our conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan," Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) said. "Does he not care about our national security? Does Al Gore plan to ignore the needs of our brave men and women on the ground? What kind of world does Al Gore think we still live in?" President Gore will not be the only new arrival in the White House to face criticism, however. Joseph Lieberman—the former independent senator from Connecticut who in just two months has gone from the short list of possible Republican running mates to nearly being ousted from the Democratic Caucus to becoming the first Jewish Vice President—will also have much to answer for. "Uhh," Lieberman said in his first official address Wednesday. "Umm…yeah." Quote With friends like Zionists, what Jew needs enemies? With friends like Islamists, what Muslim needs enemies?
Machjo Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 And the Gore and Tipper article: Gores Enjoying Best Sex Of Their Lives MARCH 20, 2002 | ISSUE 38•10 "For far too many years, we didn't have time to really focus on us," Gore told Matt Lauer during an interview on Today. "Between raising the kids and running for office and everything else, there always seemed to be something that took precedence over romance. But now, with the kids all grown up and a job that doesn't take up every waking moment of the day, I can finally enjoy some nice moments of intimacy with my beautiful and, dare I say, sexy wife." Gore said that in the past 12 months, he and Tipper have "rekindled the flame of passion" in their marriage, taking time each day to lavish attention and affection on each other. Citing one such example, Gore said that last Friday, he came home from a speech at the American Bar Association's annual convention to find Tipper waiting for him in the bedroom in a lace teddy with a rose between her teeth. She then handed him a book of "love coupons" redeemable for a variety of sexual favors. "It's that sort of spontaneity that keeps things exciting in a marriage," said Gore, lovingly stroking his wife's hair. "And, believe me, things were pretty exciting that night." Added Tipper: "Al can be a real tiger." According to Gore, the frequency of his sexual activity with Tipper has increased significantly in the past year. "I must say I'm very satisfied with our current volume of lovemaking," said a visibly relaxed Gore. "Did I say satisfied? I meant overjoyed. In fact, things are so good, I may have to seriously rethink my plans to make another run for president in 2004!" Though she admitted she's "never been much of a thrill-seeker in the sex department," Tipper said a number of her recent intimate encounters with her husband have involved an element of risk: On Feb. 25, she said, the couple "got amorous" just moments before an endorsement appearance for South Dakota senate candidate Tim Johnson. A week later, they coupled during a cross-country flight to California. "Forgive me if I blush, Matt," Tipper told Lauer, "but Al and I actually made love about half an hour ago, right before coming on this show." Despite their current inflamed passion, the Gores said their sex life did not instantly reignite upon departing Washington last year. "After losing the election, Al was really depressed for a while," said Tipper, a longtime crusader for mental-health issues. "With depression, as you may know, there typically comes a loss of sexual appetite. Over time, though, he gradually realized that this was a good chance to rediscover parts of himself he'd forgotten. That's when we began our sexual re-awakening." Not since Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter left the White House for Plains, GA, in January 1981 has there been such an upswing in post-Executive Office coitus. "Things are less hectic, but it's not like we're loafing around doing nothing," Tipper said. "Al's been doing fundraising for his political action committee, and I've been busy speaking at Democratic fundraisers, as well as continuing my work as honorary chairwoman for the National Mental Health Awareness Campaign. But in no way does any of that diminish our desire to spend a romantic evening together in a bubble bath, surrounded by scented candles." Added Gore: "The difference between our current work lives and the way it was before is that now we come home energized. Our work keeps us apart just enough to heighten our passion. It's a great feeling, coming home from a fundraiser all pumped up and being able to transfer that energy into carrying my wife to bed and letting nature take its course, if you know what I mean." "It's like right after we were married all over again," a flushed Tipper said. "I don't want to get too specific, but some of the things we've done would cause quite a scandal in Washington circles." Exchanging smoldering glances, the Gores ended the interview and disappeared backstage. Quote With friends like Zionists, what Jew needs enemies? With friends like Islamists, what Muslim needs enemies?
