Oleg Bach Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 It reminds me of causing a fight with a wife so you can get the right justification for going to sleep with the mistress. Maybe OBAMA is looking for a way to break the so-called friendship and horrific buisness agreement with China. Then he could be a real hero and stiff China for a few trillion...works for me. Quote

Maybe OBAMA is looking for a way to break the so-called friendship and horrific buisness agreement with China. Then he could be a real hero and stiff China for a few trillion...works for me. OR in the true reverse it could be like intentionally causing a fight with the mistress so you can return to the wife. OBAMA has figured out that to pay off China in full would literally collapse the American nation. China was hoping that American honourability would continue to be the weakness- but when it comes to survival America will toss China to the dogs. Oleg Bach Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 This meeting with the holy trouble maker from Tibet is a sign that Obama is telling China to F off. He does not seem to be worried about trade with China seeing that AMERICA no longer benefits from this arrangement. Just like the slandering of Toyota..and the media campaign to drive foreign imports out of the states...it appears that protectionism and national socialism is entrenching it self- the Nazi movement my have died on the battle field but not in the board room. Welcome home Henry Ford! Quote
Shady Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 This meeting with the holy trouble maker from Tibet is a sign that Obama is telling China to F off. Not really. He delayed his meeting until his second year at the request of China. Quote

You should really provide citations because you always try and pass made-up stuff off as fact. So how do you know China requested that they not meet until his second year in office? So how do you know China requested that they not meet until his second year in office? One really does have to wonder where this stuff comes from sometimes. China is not happy about Obama meeting the Dalai Lama -- even in his second year: The White House confirmed on Tuesday that Obama would meet the exiled Tibetan Buddhist leader, reviled by Beijing as a separatist for seeking self-rule for his mountainous homeland. China's angry response reflected deepening tension between the world's biggest and third-biggest economies, with Beijing noting that President Hu Jintao himself urged Obama not to meet the exiled Tibetan leader. Shady Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) You should really provide citations because you always try and pass made-up stuff off as fact. You really need to keep to pay attention to the news. One really does have to wonder where this stuff comes from sometimes. Yeah, it's called the news. In an attempt to gain favor with China, the United States pressured Tibetan representatives to postpone a meeting between the Dalai Lama and President Obama until after Obama's summit with his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao, scheduled for next month, according to diplomats, government officials and other sources familiar with the talks.Washington Post *edit* Both of you can apologize to me in private. BubberMiley Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Both of you can apologize to me in private. Apologize for asking for a citation, or for pointing out that most of your posts include lies? The latter is still true. Where does it say China made any request? I read that the United States made the request. Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
Guest American Woman Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Where does it say China made any request? I read that the United States made the request. Exactly. And China is still angry about the meeting, so apparently waiting until Obama's second year didn't pacify them. Quote

BubberMiley Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Both of you can apologize to me in private. Still looking for something, anything, that indicates China made that request? After all, it's all over "the news." Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
Shady Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Still looking for something, anything, that indicates China made that request? After all, it's all over "the news." Actually, China doesn't want Obama meeting with him at all. They told China they'd delay the meeting until this year. I think China was hoping they could pressure Obama into not meeting with him at all. Quote

Michael Hardner Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Guys, guys... check the thread title here - Oleg is actually talking about the "Deli Lama". I think that there's a spelling mistake there, though, and he meant to type "Deli Llama". For those of you who don't live in Toronto, this is the latest middle eastern delicacy downtown. Hardner: "Say there Omar. How is the deli Llama today ?" Omar the Deli counter man: "Very good, Michael, why not have a shwarma ?" Hardner: "I believe I will, Omar. I believe I will. Mmmmm. Now THAT is good llama." Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
xul Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Sometimes I suspect Beijing actually doesn't care Obama/Bush/Harper...meeting Dalai Lama at all. What would Dalai Lama gain from these meeting? How could these meeting help Dalai Lama's goal when he negotiates with China if Obama/Bush/Harper themselves could not get something from China for their own countries? I guess the real purpose of these meeting/protesting games is: If China doesn't protest, those western politicians have to do more because all sorts of You-Know-Who supporters will blame them done so little. If China protest, the western politicians will shrug to those You-Konw-Who supporters: "Look! I have done my best and now it's time for all of you to go to a polling booth voting for me." Quote
xul Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 (edited) "Look! I have done my best and now it's time for all of you to go to a polling booth voting for me." Dalai Lama: China denies problem in Tibet Dalai Lama told CNN during the interview, "Last year we also had a chance meeting, but then just before his vist Peking. I also support we'd better not meet." So Obama has got his reward from Dalai Lama---now no one can blame him for postponement if Dalai Lama himself also supports his decision.
