This is a great clip of Shatner and Palin, reading selected lines from eachother's autobiographies. Enjoy! Even the anti-Palin types in this forum won't be immune to her charm. :)

NBC

P.S. I spelled Shatner's name wrong. I apologize. He is amazing and deserves better.

Sorry Shady, but her charm level is ZERO.

My thoughts exactly. I, for one, am going to spare myself from being subjected to her "charms" by not clicking on the link. B)

LOL, you guys are both pathetic. At the very least, view it for Shatner's preformance. It's excellent too.

But I know you people wouldn't want anything to get in your way of your pre-concieved notions.

Keep your heads in the sand, and cover your ears. You wouldn't wanna have to do any critical thinking.

The "Shatner interprets Palin as beat poetry" thing has been one of the funniest ongoing things in a long time.

Thank you. :)

No, thanks. Don't think I'll lose any sleep if I forgo that performance since I'm sure it's nowhere near as excellent as Tina Fey's performance was.

My opinion of Sarah Palin isn't "preconceived;" not by a long shot. You might want to look up the definition ...

I'm sure listening to Shatner and Palin reading selected lines from each other's autobiographies requires a great deal of critical thought. :P

Of course you'd like Fey's performance better. It reinforces your beliefs.

Enjoy your echo chamber.

Ya think? And you think maybe the topic of this thread reinforces yours?

I could enjoy her charms for hours. I just found it scary that the Republicans were irresponsible enough to nominate her to be one malignant malinoma away from the presidency. But since the electorate proved itself to be smarter than that, I think it's a good idea to keep talking about her as the leading contender for the 2012 nomination.

That way Obama can spend less time campaigning and more time implementing his socialist agenda.

I certainly got a laugh out of that.

Maybe she should take a hint, and stick to comedy...

I thought her aspirations to be the POTUS candidate in the next election was comedy ...

Nothing very special about that video that I could see. As for Palin generally speaking, she does seem to have a friendly personality. But I would never vote for her until she should undergo an ideological revolution in her mind.

I figured since smallc watched it just for shady, I could, too. :P

I have to agree with your assessment, there was nothing special about it at all.

What beliefs of mine does this clip reinforce? That in this particular clip, Palin and Shatner are funny? Guilty as charged.

And this has nothing to do with her politics, or political future. All I'm saying is that I think the clip is funny. Geez, some of you need to grab a sense of humour at some point. But your deep seeded hatred of this woman makes it impossible to even laugh at a few simple jokes, some of which are directed at her.

You guys are pathetic. Hate like that will eat you up inside. You really need to learn to let things go. Seriously.

Shatner was funnier. Palin was too obvious that she was reading the teleprompter. Hmm thought she'd be better at the teleprompter thing by now

She's still hot though.

Since you need it spelled out for you, it reinforces your belief that anything and everything Palin says or does is just sooooo super fantastic. That you could get all fired up over such a mediocre clip proves it.

See? I laugh when something is actually funny. Since you're the one going off on a tangent here, methinks you're the only one harboring strong feelings about this. I simply found the clip totally unfunny, and that include Shatner, too; so evidently my hate for him is eating me up inside too?

 again.

I honestly didn't find it even slightly funny.

Me either. The jokes were either stale or totally expected, and Palin has no sense of delivery. She came across as exactly what she is-- a politician attempting to do a comedy skit, and failing.

Shatner was funnier. Palin was too obvious that she was reading the teleprompter. Hmm thought she'd be better at the teleprompter thing by now

So obvious that I actually thought the funniest part of the clip was her putting Shatner's book down on her lap and not even pretending to be reading out of it. :P

I find it odd when people claim "the left" (ie everyone not to the Right of Pinochet) lack a sense of humor, because we don't think Palin or Rush Limbaugh are uproariously hilarious.

Palin the new high queen of comedy. Limbaugh the nuanced satirist.

:)

It's odd because, in fact, the Right wing produces almost NO humour. At all.

Why does the overwhelming majority of comedy and comedians sprout from the liberal side of the spectrum? Because clearly that's the case.

I guess, given the arid wasteland of right-wing comedy, it makes sense that Palinites and dittoheads find these folks funny. But they're really not that funny; I mean, objectively, political views aside, they simply are not talented comedians.

Well said. I think you hit the nail on the head re: the 'shadys' of the world; I can't think of a thing to add. And it made me chuckle, too, which means I do have a sense of humor after all! Who'd have thunk it? :P

I already knew you did, even when we had our little semantic spat. :)

What's a discussion without a spat here and there, eh? Pretty boring, I'd say. B)
