GostHacked
That's not true. It is true. Once again, I'm not criticizing any vacation time. That's not true.
Smallc
No. My job in monday to friday. A President's job is 7 days a week. You and I both know that even when a president is on vacation (or enjoying their weekend) they're never off duty. I posted the Letterman joke to illustrate Obama's falling popularity. Especially from his supporters. I hardly think a joke like that says anything about...anything. Of course, I've always though that the right had trouble with humour. Smallc
Then you're not being intellecutally honest. The joke doesn't say anything. It's a joke...and it doesn't really matter what Letterman thinks even if there is something behind it. There's a long way from here to November 2012. punked
That's not true. According to FactCheck.org, Obama's spent 26 days on vacaction as of Jan 11, 2010. In other words, that doesn't count any of the vacations he's taken from February to August. Nice try though. *edit* Once again, I'm not criticizing any vacation time. I merely posted a joke by David Letterman, illustrating Obama's dropping popularity. This is after all a thread about his approval rating. Wait you means this fact check.org article that says "According to one count, Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush spent more time on "vacation" during their first year than President Obama did. Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton spent less time on "vacation." What I get from that is you are critizing Democratics for something Republicans did waaaayyyy more. Poor poor Shady, know nothing Shady. Anyways, I'll say this for the third time. I posted the Letterman joke to illustrate Obama's fall in popularity. This thread is about his approval rating. And now he's even losing the approval of liberals like David Letterman.

Yah how dare he have a little bit higher approval rating then Regan did at this time right Shady? I mean if he was a really good president his approval rating would be a little lower just like Regans was.
Shady
Yah how dare he have a little bit higher approval rating then Regan did at this time right Shady?. I think it's finally time to put an end to your Obama is Reagan meme. Obama started with a much higher approval rating than Reagan did. Obama's drop has been the largest in history. Not only that, Obama's recent 41% approval rating in a CNN/USA Today poll is lower than what Reagan had at this time. Your emperor has no clothes! What are you talking Gallup says Regan had a 41% approval rating at this time in his presidency ending his third year with an all time low of 35%. I mean I know you know nothing and refuse to look it up but don`t be stupid. In fact your assertion is so stupid I goggled and Returners wrote an article yesterday about how dumb your argument is. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE67N5K420100824 Edited August 25, 2010 by punked

I find it funny how they emphasize that Obama INHERITED a bad economy, but when they write about Reagan, they don't say the same. Anyways, there's a few inaccuracies from your link. Reuters states that Gallup has Obama's approval at 45%. If you check with Gallup's website, it's actually at 42%. Which proves me right. They also claim that economists remain confident that the unemployment rate will be at 7% in a couple of years. That's also wrong. In fact, the economic outlook has just been down-graded as of last week. And the worries of a double-dip recession have significantly increased. Other than that, yeah, he's just like Reagan! Shady
says Regan`s approval I know Regan was a God Look, if you wanna have a discussion, at least spell his name right. It's Reagan! Once or even twice is a common spelling mistake. But you're going on 4+ times now. Oh, and you're link doesn't state that their approvals are the same. It states that they're "virtually" the same. Edited August 25, 2010 by Shady

Here is another link against to show you how stupid you are being. http://www.gallup.com/poll/116479/barack-obama-presidential-job-approval.aspx You will notice Regan's was 41%. LOWER THEN OBAMA's right now. SO until Obama's approval drops by one point he wont be the greatest president ever according to Shady. Shady
Obama's getting criticized by all sides now. The recession redo, paid for by the nonprofit White House Historical Association, was the latest tone-deaf move by a White House that was supposed to excel at connection and communication. Message: I care, but not enough to stop the fancy vacations and posh renovations. As Obama himself said in February 2009 when he released his first budget: “There are times where you can afford to redecorate your house, and there are times where you need to focus on rebuilding the foundation.” It might have been wise, given America’s slough of despond, to hark back to a time when presidents just went to work and took their office pretty much as they found it, without the need to make a personal statement. As the former White House curator Rex Scouten once told me, in the era from Taft to Truman, the green rug in the president’s office was changed only once, when it wore out, to a new green rug. NYT And a couple of nights ago from Jay Leno: Leno: "Well according to the lastest polls, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has an approval rating of 59%. Experts say this is because he has put socialism behind him and improved the economy. In fact it's worked so well, many Democrats in congress are thinking of trying it here." Leno: "Well according to a report in Time Magazine, they say the recession is good for people, because less people are driving to work, which means less people killed from car accidents. Fewer people can afford to eat, so we don't gain as much wait. You know what that means? President Obama's economic plan is also his healthcare plan, it's genius!"
