That may be so. In the end though, what matters most is the final impression left on the electorate by the presentation and delivery. What is seen on the screen projects what the viewer expects off the screen. Right or wrong, the message is secondary. Such is the power of the medium.

well that's your opinion, but since I chose from the get go to focus on content, that demonstrates I am not looking at the medium for the superficial delivery and presentation, I am looking to the message.

Insults are the ammunition of the unintelligent - do not use them. It is okay to criticize a policy, decision, action or comment. Such criticism is part of healthy debate. It is not okay to criticize a person's character or directly insult them, regardless of their position or actions. Derogatory terms such as "loser", "idiot", etc are not permitted unless the context clearly implies that it is not serious. Rule of thumb: Play the ball, not the person (i.e. tackle the argument, not the person making it).

CBC's bias is well documented and well understood by anyone but the most fervently partisan Liberal. That's why nobody watches CBC news, why nobody listens to CBC radio and why it wouldn't survive without subsidies.

I have to disagree. I watch both CTV and CBC news almost every night and I really don't see the bias from either one. There may be some, and they may go at things from different angles, but CBCs news programing is as well balanced as any. I suppose though it really depends where you sit on the political spectrum. If you are to the right, then you see any MSM as biased, and if you are on the left, you see other things as biased. In the centre (or, rather close to it), I see things as biased at times, but most of the time I would say that the media in Canada does a good job of presenting the story with less sensationalism than say, the US media.

So you are saying....its not about the economy....its not about the will of Parliament....and its note even about the law, the constitution or bully politics.

Harper's entourage erupted in laughter as they watched the tape on TV sets in the Commons foyer.

Well-known Liberal blogger Warren Kinsella, who backs Michael Ignatieff for leader, wrote: "This is pathetic. Someone should be fired, full stop."

Nice of Dion to lighten the mood a little in these tense times. :)

Repeated for good measure....

Does anyone have a link to Dions Video?

I reposted this because I just did about 5 posts and didn't want Michaels Request Missed.

Someone has posted it on Youtube.

If that is the best you can offer, you might want to consider not participating in discussions that are way over your head. The less inconsistent rhetoric that is put forth the better. Let me tell you darlin', you ain't even helpin' the good guys with your opinion.....

Well, well...aren't you a clever little guy. If it's about the economy or the law or bully politics, then it obviously can't be about the incompetence of the wanna-be prime minister. One thing at a time, lest you lose focus.

I think the MESSAGE is the most important. Yes Dion's wasn't has good visually as Harper's but then Harper didn't say so much but Dion did and he made his personal, he showed us he really cared, something Harper never does.

Dion's supporters said he sounded good on radio. Whether that's with volume on or volume off, I don't know.

Does it it matter the silence is always deafening.

The grainy video was taped by one of Dion's closest aides, Mick Gzowski, son of late CBC icon Peter Gzowski, The Canadian Press reports. Insiders say it was recorded with a digital camera and an auto-focus button on the camera was broken, stuck in the locked position. As a result, the focus was on a bookcase behind Dion, rather than on the Liberal leader himself, leaving his face slightly fuzzy.

Well, that puts to bed the conspiracy theories floating around that someone sabotaged Dion's taped speech. I don't think any heads will roll over this. After all, how could you fire the son of a CBC icon, right?

IWhat happened last night was not GOOD TV for the CBC anymore then it was for CTV. The networks were letdown by the leaders, just like our country has been.

But CTV, particularly Graham Richardson pointed out that it's these small details that gives it away.

The competence of Dion was openly questioned on air. Reactions of the NDP and Diuceppe were openly described on air.

CTV made good and used that dead-air fast! Just the fact that they were waiting for the late tape was NEWS!

Competence / Dion? Isn't that an oxymoron?

I watched CTV, I saw nothing regarding the NDP or Duceppe. They basically said, Harper was Lame, Dion is an idiot, talked about the two lame idiots, then said goodnight.

Perhaps you were watching the CTVs cable news station... If so, I wish I did too.

That's because it is news. Not providing your National address to the Nation on time is NEWS!!!

I was on CTV Newsnet. It was Graham Richardson who mentioned that the NDP and Layton were furious for Dion "made them look like fools." The accidental meeting of Diuceppe and Dion in the elevator was also brought up where-in Diuceppe asked Dion, "what was that all about?" And Dion's answer was: "we're not used to being the Opposition."

For coverage on political events I find CTV Newsnet really delivers. They seem to have the scoops ahead of the other stations.

Liberal MP Karygiannis, who was furious over the tape and was demanding for Dion to step down, said that Dion was reading from the computer on that tape.

CTV was lucky to have gotten the neck and parts of his shoulders showing. Apparently other station only got mostly his head.
