I voted because they have the constitutional right to do so. I wanted to vote because I want Harper gone but really, I'd rather see Harper gone because his party rejects him themselves. That way he can't whine all about the place because the Liberals did him in. I don't know but I will hazard a guess, that Harper will never even admit to himself that it was his own actions that did him in. For him, it's always someone else's fault.

Well said! Can I change my vote?

It is perfectly legal. However it has nothing to do with the constitution.

All this spin is total BS.. the reason it is legal is convention (which is a type of customary law).

The PM isn't even mentioned in the constitution.

By practice of the westminister system of parliament which Canada derives the Monarch selects a PM, someone who has the confidence of the house - usually that of the largest party - however a voting coalition is in many parliamentary systems somewhat akin to a regular party. The legislature is not partisan at default, that is members are elected to represent ridings, not parties.

In this case the powers of the Queen are vested in the Governor General in specific capacities.

Get it straight all this unconstitutional BS is total rhetoric. The cons are spreading so many lies it ain't even funny.

I was here.

Our constitution is not all written down. Much of it is convention. This is constitutional.

I don't agree with this coalition at all... because:

News is already starting to come out about what they had to offer to the Blok to get them to join such a plan... something about an extra $1 billion sent to Quebec - a hell of a lot more than another election would cost. Sorry I don't have a link, and I could be mistaken... I heard this on talk radio.

Even Duceppe said yesterday "What is good for Quebec is good for a sovereign Quebec".

This coalition could very well lead to many things, including:

1. strengthening and enriching of the Blok and eventually leading to Quebec separation.

2. further alienation of Alberta and strengthening existing talk of Alberta separation there.

3. totally destroying any confidence people had in both the NDP and the Liberals for pandering to the Blok - further reducing their seats the next time Canadians get to choose who they want.

4. setting a precedent that any minority government can easily be overthrown in the future and creating more political instability.

If the Liberals, NDP, and Blok are so inclined to work together... then great, but let Canadians decide if we want that in another election.

I hope that the GG prorogues parliament as Harper is likely to ask for - as she is expected to follow the advice of the PM and is meant to be merely a figurehead. If she does not allow that, then I suggest as Canadians we fight to change our political system so that we do not have an unelected representative of the queen controling our government. While we are at it lets fight for proprotional representation of some sort so that each vote actually means something.

I swear to drunk I'm not god.

Harper has had his chance to be PM and all we get from the Cons is spending, lies and bullying among other things. Either Harper steps down from the Conservative Party because he said HE couldn't work with the opposition parties or we let the opposition parties do their thing and hold another election on Oct./09! Canada doesn't have time for another election right now because the economy is sliding and people need help and so do certain industries! For the first time in 2-3 years the TSX is lower than the Dow!

I'm okay with any coalition, even ones I do not support. (after all, parties are coalitions of like minded people)

I prefer though they take their coalition to the polls...

RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS

One Poll not good enough for you?

the other poll asked if it would happen. This poll asks if you agree with it. entirely different questions.

And interesting to see Yes leading No by 1 vote.

I support this coalition so they can put elizabeth may into the senate so the green party can have a leadership race for a new leader.

The Green party needs a leader thats not running around saying I endorse or support stephon dion during an election.

That severely hurt the party.
