Hey Montgomery Burns.. Really, if you are that embarassed to be a Canadian, it may be time to consider looking at another place to call home. Perhaps you could apply for US citizenship and renounce all your Canadian ties. This may be the only solution to your internal struggle with this whole ordeal.

Civil War indeed BlackDog. This was something I was concerned about right from the start. Knowing that Iraq has 3 distinct religious/ethnic groups. Power of one repress the other. Under Husseins rule there was very little of that from what I know. I just know the US clearly misjudged the way in which they handle Iraq, it seems like they are always playing catch up and damage control. Just one point to make it all clear. If Afghanistan is not yet a stable democratic society (they were invaded a long time before Iraq and the violence is starting to ramp up there again), what makes you think that Iraq will be finished anytime soon? It is a pipe dream that needs the bowl repacked. How committed IS the US in this endeavour? Leaving could send the Middle East into a fast downward spin. Staying just gets more Iraqi civilians and more US and Iraqi troops killed. Seems like a lose lose situation now.

And some religious laws violate human rights. I will gladly violate your religious rights in favour of human rights. I have been keeping an eye on this a little and I am glad to hear this decision. We cannot have seperate laws for every religion out there. This just shows more of a seperation between church and state. I welcome this, and will be even more happy when all others are stopped as well. It would not be fair to have Christians, Jews and others to have their own tribunals but not Muslims.
