  1. !It's not that cut and dried apparently. There is wirtaping and there is wiretaping! I'm sure this whole issue is going to get major exposure before it is all over. And if Liberals were committing criminal acts they should be charged. What happens in the case of, for example, if a cabinet minister like Dosanjh gets charged? Would he have to immediately resign his seat?
  2. Martin Liberals get some breathing room It's about time - do you think they have been doing some in internal poling, eh! Anyway kudos for the Cons to finally come into tune with the thinking in the rest of the country. Now we all have a great Canadian summer.
  3. Oh yes, George Bush's America. Now there is a shining example for all the world to follow concerning environmental issues, NOT.
  4. Tape transcripts to shed light on Grewal claims New Democrat leader Jack Layton sure seems fired up about these Grewal tapes - what's going on here anyways? And we (Cons) are going to turn the tapes over to the RCMP at some point in the future. Is that not withholding evidence?
  5. More impetus for these two parties to get together: Greenhouse gases growing faster than economy
  6. Did the Greens Put the BC Liberals Back in Office? Excellent article about what happens when you split the vote. I wonder in the federal New Democrats are once again going to be lagging behind their NDP couterparts in BC, exploring merger talks with the Greens. The time is now to get this little project off the ground.
  7. Is this the best Canada has to offer - scumballs, sleaze, and Canada being cited by AI for HR violations. Question Period Today What's happening with the budget & Harper's falling flat on his face with another one of his non-confidence motions that no one in Canada wants except for a few extremist Cons?
  8. Canada's minority Liberals get some breathing room Sure looks like the Conservatives are beginning to be isolated. First it was the big chill by the Canadian electorate in the latest Decima poll released this weekend, and now possibly by the only party left in the House that will do business with them, the Bloc.
  9. Article Is this sour grapes or a valid concern?
  10. Canadians need to get a life. Maybe Ottawa should send all Canadian citizens to Europe for a month or two to get a bit of culture in their brains. What absurd behaviour! Surgery for dismembered statue
  11. I agree. But spending 1% is not cause for consternation, and had Harper been in Martin's place, he would have undoubtly cut the same deal with Canada's rising political star Jack Layton.
  12. New Democrats are now within 5% of the Cons in Ontario according to Decima Research, a National Post polling company. And you don't think Belinda's departure has hurt Harper - seriously, wake up and smell the flowers!
  13. Quebec Bloc: 53% Libs: 21% Cons: 12% New Democrats: 9%
  14. That's a bit of a defeatist attitude don't you think? As I said we can expect quite a few surprises when the votes are all counted after the next federal election. Imn the meantime I think we should all relax and enjoy the summer!
  15. Try writing a bit more coherently so at least some of us can understand what in the heck you are taking about, eh!
  16. Haven't a clue what your point is. Have you forgotten about the Bloc?
  17. The only thing that matters is how people actually vote. The same thing happened during the last election to the NDP. But in their case they have picked themselves up by their bootstraps, and it now appears that the New Democrats are closing in on the Cons for second place in federal politics.
  18. Another tax hater. What can I say!
  19. I am not sure if we are ever going to see the Conservative elected as government again. There is a fundamental shift that has been taking place in Canadian society for some time now. The cities now are primarily where all the action occurs, and once we get rid of all the gerrymandering, and the rural and urban seats hold identical populations, the fairness of these changes are going to kick in and it will be game over for Harper and those Conservative leaders that follow him.
  20. Dream on pal! Libs:36% Cons: 27% New Democrats: 21%[/b] Now we have a horse race for second place . The Conservatives have gone due South with their anti-Canadian rhetoric. It is going to be very interesting from here on in.
  21. Wow, the New Democrats are now within 6% of the Cons, in the latest federal polling, released today by Decima Research. Did the earth move or what here!
  22. Finally the New Democrats have broken through 20% in the latest national polls. I wonder what has taken so long for Canadians to wake up to the reality that we now have three major parties in Canada vying to form the government. Anyway there is no question now that the Layton New Democrats are on a roll, and the next election could end up bringing dramatically different election results than we have experienced before in federal elections.
  23. Yes and the rest of us remember Grant Devine.....yada, yada, yada! Please explain how increasing 1% of the expenditures of a vastly underestimated surplus is going to hurt the country's finances? You can't because it won't and as usual you right wingers are whistling dixie!
  24. Well you folks have confirmed the one out of three votes that no one wants. It is the other two out of three votes that are of interest to the New Democrats. Like another party other without mentioning any names, the major problem for the Greens is leadership - or lack thereof. They dropped 25% of their support in the last BC election.
  25. It has been researched that 2 out of 3 Green votes are from left-of centre voters. Under the circumstances should the New Democrats merge with the Greens?
