  1. Canada has lots of political alternatives to the Liberals but it seems that fewer and fewer Canadians want Harper and the snake oil that he is selling. Editorial: Harper strikes out for the third time
  2. `Dump Harper' bid on the rise Personally I think he is finished. It may happen quickly, or it may happen slowly, it doesn't really matter. Harper will never become PM now and it is time for some one else who is more moderate, not a clone of the NCC, or the Fraser Institute, or George Bush, for that matter, to lead the Cons.
  3. Even the right wing press want Harper to step down: Stephen Harper should step down
  4. Scott.....give it a break. There is not the slightest indication than any party is going to have a majority next time around, and that is why the Canadian electorate wants to wait for an election - why bother holding an election if nothing is going to change.
  5. Bumbling Harper not ready for prime time The sooner Conservatives lose this loser, the better off they and all of Canada will be.
  6. Why Conservatives Should Thank Chuck Cadman How refreshing it would be if our politicians were truly honest with Canadians!
  7. Trudeau, Mulroney, & Lesveque were/are Quebeckers just as Layton, Chretien, & Duceppe are.
  8. Spoken like a true elitist. Words right out of the Fraser Institute. You know better than the average Canadian, don't you? What a bunch of unmitigated crap! Harper is a small, petty, angry and mean-spirited man. I am no fan of Mulroney however he had enough sense to keep his MPS happy. All Harper has done so far is aleniate himself from both Cadman and Stronach. And yesterday that cost him big time.
  9. We have been paying off debt for the past 10 years. I think we should continue to do so, but it is also time for some spending on some social programs with nationwide standards. I'm really tired of the nonsense of such things as my healthcare card not being recognised in Quebec and vice versa.
  10. If you think Harper's pitch to Cadman was sleazy and unethical you ain't seen nothing yet - just wait until all the details of the Grewal tape come to light. Conservatives principled NOT. This is really incredible what Grewal has tried to pull off to save himself from being investigated by the RCMP.
  11. Harper's Big Gamble Turns Up Snake Eyes It is obvious that Harper's political career is over. It is now just the matter of the Conservatives going through the motions of losing another election, and then he will sulk away! Why don't these political parties have the smarts to dump a leader when he is an albatross around their necks?
  12. 19 activist members of the NDP and they control the federal budget. Whoever said you need a lot of people to effect positive progressive change sure was wrong. Just as some comments show the stupidity, and lack of principles, of some Liberals. Smarter Liberal heads however will prevail, and this budget will be passed lickety-split otherwise the already badly tarnished reputation of our current prime minister will be in the toilet for good.
  13. Article Does a leopard change his spots - I hardly think so! Harper has been branded and we all know what he represents. Fortunately most Canadians don't want any part of his meanness and intolerance.
  14. Good for Canada, Layton declares Now perhaps we are going to get the kind of Canadian government policies that Canadians have voted for, instead of this right wing corporate bullshit being dished out by the Martinites & Harperites.
  15. Gotta love these people who are authorities on everything political. Never say never pal, you could end up eating those words before this is all over!
  16. Battle still on, but leaders stall As Chantel Hebert, one of Canada's mainstream medias pre-emminent commentators says anything can happen now. I would surmise that when the dust settles the Layton New Democrats will start to shine even more amongst the Canadian electorate as they come to appreciate their first ever NDP engineered federal budget.
  17. Excellent question but don't hold your breath!
  18. Cadman says his decision came just before vote This is just sickening!!!
  19. Chuck Cadman should consider joining the Layton New Democrats as they appear to have a lot in common - they both listen to their constituents! Laconic MP held government's fate
  20. Canada is in a crisis because we have two right wing party leaders in Martin & Harper, which comprise both the government and the official opposition. Until such time as that changes there is going to major discontent with, and in, Ottawa. Come on do a little analysis and you can see what a circus we have acting out before us. Lefty Layton propping up righty Martin, & righty Harper propping up lefty Duceppe!
  21. Cadman is doing what all MPs should be doing, listening to their constituents, as opposed to promoting their own political party's agenda. Just imagine how much healthier it would be to have 100 Cadmans in the House of Commons instead of the losers like Duceppe, Martin & Harper!
  22. What a sniveling whiner of a comment! Get over it! The fundamentalist Cons blew it and today they paid the price. Things are finally looking up in Ottawa. Gotta love it!
  23. The fact that mainstream media are discussing the possibility of Jack Layton's New Democrats forming government, outways most of the comments here don't you think? If you think Martin already has had problems, just watch and see what happens to him now. He has about as much credibility as Harper right now, and that ain't saying much. Two bigger losers, in their respective positions I don't think we have seen on the national scene for quite some time.
  24. Whell this crushing defeat for the Conservatives lies squarly at Harper's feet. He drove away the two votes, Stronach & Cadman, that he needed to bring down the government - what a braindead moron!
