Trumps threats of tariffs has shown ours weak areas, not just in our economy and trade but security as well the question remains will we learn by this whole thing and do something about it...or wait for the next trump to threaten us all over again...

If you take a look at other high speed rail projects in the US , europe the final bill is going to exceed more than 120 bil for this short bit of track...in todays dollars zip into the future and this along with everything the government spends on will cost double that...for 120 bil we could fix health care....and a few more issues....its not a matter of blockheadedness it is a matter of priorities. riding the rails with your hair on fire is not one of them at least not today...

No i don't care , i get my news from several different outlets as they all have a different take on each story...., you think the CBC is the only outlet that can tell you the world is ending or we are under attack....it is what they do report the news..and most of them do it without major government dollars

I did say it could be a combination of the two, even liberals do not like justin and did not have a place to park their vote....and a new face is something to rally around...it happens all the time when a new face gets a bump in the polls.... I have no problem finding quality news media outlets....I'm sure everyone else can as well, if CBC is your main service then they should have a subscription service, the ROC should not have to pay for this business to stay afloat...unless it is a loan...can't afford to stay in business, then fold ,step aside and CTV or the other dozens of media outlets will step up.

And i'm still saying most Canadians don't care about climate change if they have to pay for it....thats liberal, conservative and ndp... Thats a fantastic plan....you give me 20 dollars and i give you 18 back and poof climate change is gone....you have peace of mind, the government is getting free funds from the tax it's a win win really...not sure why you can't follow the money.... If Canadians really cared about climate change one would think they would not mind if the government sponsored major projects with that money collected like changing home heating with furnace oil to heat pumps, or drastically reduce solar power costs for homes, reduce EV,s just those three would have reduced our carbon by more than 10 % like we have done.... instead a majority of Canadians have said NO to carbon taxes, even the liberals have did a 180 on carbon taxes, not because carbon taxes work because they don't...but because it is unpopular with the people....it was never about the climate crises is what i'm saying it was about keep the people happy...

PP does not want to shut down CBC, just defund it...and when it is laying off employees and then giving out big execs bonuses, which may or may not be taxpayer funded, thats where i draw the line...Like any media group they should be able to stand on their own feet, if not cut staff or services until it can...it is what every other business does in this country does...they thrive or disappear....

Bullcrap, PP has talked about green initiatives for as long as i can remember you just weren't listening...things like building more nuclear power supplies via traditionally nuke power stations and SMR's, by bring our natural gas to market so other nations and our own can transition off coal, he also talks about using advanced tech to allow us to carbon capture, or allow us to use CO2 as a fuel source in itself...Imagine powering all those northern communities by SMR rather than fossil fuels flown or shipped in.... Wanting to be a AI leader buy building huge AI plants which require huge amounts of power, Clean power... Carney has lied to Canadians about his climate plan, by taxing those high end manufactures and then telling people the manufactures will absurd those cost and not pass it on to the consumers...like when has that ever happened....he has lied about many topics, he is like justin now you can't tell the truth from the lies... Canadians don't really care about climate change , sure they talk a good game, but when forced to pay anything it is game over...78 % of canadians want to remove the carbon tax...liberal, and conservative...so lets not pretend this is all a conservative thing, even the liberals running for party leadership have reversed their directions on it, because it is not popular ...had nothing to do with it may of been working...

Whats true is the people who vote liberal; are normally pretty easy to fool. Mark Carney has already been caught in a vast amount of lies, proving is no different than justin, or for that matter any of today's liberals....something Canadians seem to love lies, deception, huge spending, social programs, taxes, and carbon levies, thiefs, padding their own pockets all the things liberal voters love and depend on. An election can not come soon enough....

It is the right thing to do, A large majority don't want to be Americans,that includes a large majority of conservatives as well...But lets not pretend some of trump's policies are forcing this nation to stand up and take notice of its federal responsibilities, such as our border, the rest of the security apparatus, our defensive packs with NATO, NORAD, ETC...But none of us want to sell out our nation to the americans...

Thanks for the condescending remarks, Which not sure where they came from or why, but here we are..., I've had nothing but respect for you and your service. Your basically telling me to STFU and stop posting in anything military related, as you see it as complaining....This coming from a guy who has done the same thing, complaining about military topics or Public service workers....Normally i would just end this with a f*ck you...and the horse you rode in on.... What i don't need is for some Air force guy with no operational experience to lecture me on what is professional or not, or what is going to work in an operational theater or not....I spent my whole career doing just that....Understanding the current direction to achieve force manning objectives casts a wide net that attracts quantity not quality... and not the direction we should be following...is also paramount. What is needed is not mass numbers from across the entire civilian population and all it's spectrums, but quality recruits that can easily conquer the rigors of their jobs...pass higher fitness levels than currently expected but also mental health profiles. That may sound like complaining but those very concerns are coming from the rank and file of 2 RCR , RCD and Arty school.... As for becoming dougie, Dougie has proven to the world he is a Royal Canadian , an infantryman and on that note alone he has earned my respect as a soldier..... I have no issues with Dougie, and would serve alongside of him any day, you may not like his personality, but that's not what makes him a good soldier, he has been molded by the best soldiers in Canada has to offer. I don't recall every saying my career was more important than yours, several times i have applauded your career and the SAR tech profession. You have judged me, many times in this post alone. As you have judged other trades as well. Thats your problem you think only combat arms can be considered warriors, but your wrong....warriors exist in all elements and in all trades...Not sure how to describe those that signed onto unlimited liability, and have put their life's on the line to defend this nation and our foreign policy..And while we don't have an Air force band like this one, hard not to listen to this and say there are no warriors in the air force... While in Afghanistan i worked with navy clearance divers who cleared IED's , worked with the Air force Tactical aviation planning Road moves with over head helo protection, or getting our guys to a LZ....All of them have been professional, all credit to their trades, all of them meet the standard for being called warriors...Never meet a door gunner i did not like...all of them warriors...My definition of being a warrior is is not as small as yours, every man women that shared that battlefield with me and my company...are warriors... I've been all across this nation, and worked with every element, to think an infantry soldiers is locked up in a glass case inside the regiment lines is naïve, as me thinking your whole career was as a sar tech... Not that i want to get into a dick measuring contest, but there is plenty of work for an infantry soldier than what's available in the Regitment... The regiment is just down the road i have serving members drop by an a regular basis, might be the difference from working in the air force, and those working in the regiment, the regiment is a life long membership....my opinions describe here are not just mine, but theirs as well, and not many are happy with NEW Army, discipline is lacking, SRNCO are afraid to charge anyone for fear of being canceled...all it takes is one accusation true or not to have a career stopped or ended...it is not just Generals that are getting canceled...lack of training, equipment, and toxic leadership plagues the new military...Ask the last Chief of the military, who clearly said toxic leadership is a major problem with our current leadership... Standards are there for a reason, most of them have been proven crisis or conflict time after time...Changing them just so the military can attract those that like the new hair or grooming standards, or the weight standards...is not a net plus...having some 300 lb soldier is not a net plus, it is waste of resources and training time...when was the last time you seen a 300 lb Sar tech...due to fat not muscle...Our military is a small one quality is what we need not quantity Do i have to like it , these new changes...nope i don't it is not my military anymore as you have said....but it does not make my opinions or the ones that are still serving any less true...
