  1. you build it and they will come....heard that in a movie....todays recruits are looking for a challenge, new equipment and job opportunities does that....free job training on a nuclear reactor...i mean come on not to mention SUbies have the best accommodations while in port, all that extra pay... who could resist...now today we offer a 40 year old sub that may or may not come up to the top...That's not very attractive....
  2. Sure, but a lot of things need to be changed, like how our procurement is done, a new white paper put out, sort out critical needs for the military like, pay, benefits, housing, base infrastructure, updating our military justice system, Updating everything really like QR&O, DAOD's, every TO&E for every unit out there, replace capabilities that were lost or taken away... add to those TO&E new capabilities such as drones, anti drone equipment, etc etc...procure other much needed equipment and supplies...how about a new sleeping bag.....and anyone that had anything to do with buying the last one needs to be fired....well i could go on and you could write a book about it....But sure getting to 3 % could include two types of subs... we could also fix up our artic defences, increase our man power levels, step up in helping outside of Canada....give the world more Canada is'nt that what justin said....
  3. Nobody is talking about outlawing cigs or booze, calm down....and to be honest large portions of the population have already quit smoking....nobody can afford it.....see a trend here.....nope read it again.... they are talking about trying to eliminate fentanyl a drug that kills and has killed plenty of canadians todate...almost 50,000 of them with 50000 more being hospitalized, i guess your right we'll wait until those numbers hit 1/2 a million see you then natural selection right, the weak and stupid need to be weeded out is that your message....shit while we are at it we could legalize drink and driving while we are at it....and we wonder why the left and right can not discuss anything
  4. Price of a Virgina class Nuclear sub is 11.3 billion for two, or 5.65 per boat....things just got cheaper...
  5. Yes but we are looking for someplace to at least make it to 2 %, nato is talking about raising it to 3 to 3.5 % so Nuke subs is still on the table...
  6. When was the last time you bought cigarettes' or booze most of that price is taxes....last time i check smokes were over 26 bucks a pack, that was a few years ago... Ya because those 3 items are very similar in nature one kills over a life time , the other well just one time using it can cause death......so much so Hospitals have set up teams in the streets to perform life saving measures....funny i have not seen anything like that for smokes or booze...but good try....but what do you care , i mean it's only 48,000 Canadians that have died since 2016 that we know of...and another 50,000 that have plugged upo hospital services...what does the number have to be before we take action, 100,000, 200k, 300k
  7. we are not talking about the huge hammer conventional armies wield....but rather SOF units more of a surgical tool ...and your right terrorist are not afforded the same human rights or protections under our laws as everyday Canadians...to what extent the laws are going to be when operating here in Canada i'm not sure...but don't expect tanks rolling down the streets any time soon...collateral damage is a real thing even police have collateral damage....i would not be worried about it unless your in a cartel...then i say you F$cked...
  8. AIP is the latest / greatest on the market, with some very good boats being offered South Korea is offering a world class solution , who are talking to Canada as we speak....Germany's new type 212CD is also a good choice but is still under development and will take years for the first boat to be built.... However if your going to spend the money why not buy something that has more capabilities such as American or UK nuclear subs, and go the route Australia went, once faced with the enormous bill for conventional they found it might be better to go nuclear, and i'm sure the US and UK offer them some discounts along the way... Problem with all of that is UK is almost done with sub production...and is heavily invested into the next generation sub for the UK....US production lines are full swing to make up for lost time, even opened a third production line...or so say Naval review...Australia is more likely getting american made subs, with America squeezing them in some place and then buying the next generation of UK subs...only time will tell... UK subs are supposedly on par or better than their american counterpart, according to what i read, Not a navy guy....but their production lines could meet Canadas request in a few years, as the UK is waiting for the next gen sub which might take a decade to get here...
  9. I find some of your post confusing....such as internal markets....which according to the media can explain tariffs worth upto 22 %....this issue has been know for ever, and we are just talking about it now, while in crises...this should have been a no brainer to any party really....instead it has remained a topic no one likes to talk about , almost like we enjoy paying higher prices for almost everything.... Immigration, needs to be slowed to a trickle until we can catch up on infrastructure to support them, which is a mess, everything from health care to housing, to schools, to social programs all strained becasue of the excess we have today... Well who do you propose to blame it on, unless your saying these problems are not due to liberal policies and practices...and we should look at exactly what the official opposition job is....holding government to account....could explain all the blaming... Yes his routine is getting old, but when we sit down and start looking at each department that is his responsibility and acessing it's function one could say most of them are broken to some degree...the only ones that seem to complain about this everything is broken is on the left side of the house...soon we will be in the election cycle and we will see first hand what PP policies are going to be....lets judge them as they come out...
  10. Perhaps i have misread your post, but from what i see your saying they are going to take drugs anyway regardless of what we do....Perhaps you can clarify how that is not just giving up on Canadians... Trump wanted Canada to declare Cartels terrorist organizations, Here in Canada terrorist are a military responsibility which adds a whole new level that can be brought to bear here in Canada...not sure how this is going to play out and what new powers this will give the government , but it sure does bring a whole new level of enforcement to bear....some thing we have not tried yet in the war on drugs....and your right the last war on drugs was a failure...but lets not give up until we have tried everything...Humans will take drugs , our job is to make it so expensive they just can not afford it... Is 1.3 billion going to be enough , no it is not that was a figure justin pulled out of his a$$ and ios the minimum they thought would satisfy trump.......it is going to take billions more to be sunk into CBSA, RCMP and every other security apparatus we have... Well if it stops tariffs then yes it is realistic, and for a bonus we get a safer nation....even if we search 2 % of all the incoming trucks and containers we have upgraded our borders security by 100 %
  11. And yet they have been doing exactly that for the past year of more, without trying anything new that has produced real gains....it would suggest their idea of strategic value is much different than mine or yours...the fact that it is producing results however small seems to satisfy that strategic value for now regardless of cost, or they would have tried something much different...So to Russia advancing is advancing , in the west it is a waste of manpower and equipment.... You can throw around economic figures all you want, it does not explain why Russia is gaining ground across the entire front, nor does it explain why Russia is out producing all of NATO arty and small arms ammo at the rate or 3 to 1...maybe the west with all its' economical advantages are not using those advantages to ukraines benefit...like i have been say all along....Russia has been trading with other nations in other areas, instead of a money transfer they are offering tech on a variety of things mostly weapons related... Having to rely on other countries support works both ways Ukraine is starving for equipment and supplies from its international allieds Ukraine has been saying this over the media for years now....Trump is now saying Ukraine will have to start paying for these supplies.....or get nothing....Trump is a huge question mark here , and which direction he is going to go is the key to everything... Every day that goes by makes Ukraine weaker...Ukraine can not hope to go toe to toe with Russia without support from NATO which does not want to pi$$ off mother Russia for fear of sparking something much bigger...
  12. They are going to be declared terrorist organization, what justin plan after that is up in the air...and your right anyone purchasing their product is supporting them indirectly...and in the case on fentanyl what is that punishment going to be , get let out 5 mins later like we have today or face serious jail time... Conservatives do care about personal responsibility....but they are not in power right now, the liberals are who over the last 8 plus years have been soft on almost all our security apparatus departments...and here we are today...And conservatives are blaming the liberals for this shortfall, who else do you blame ?
  13. Oh i have talked to therapists, put my life back on track......i went from the lowest i've ever been in my life to today able to talk to whackdoodles like yourself, you should try might even make you some what normal again, and take some of your liberal friends with you god know maybe you'll get a group discount...
  14. Because we did not learn from the last time we bought used Subs...
  15. BC crazy plan to give out free and safe drug supply has more uncovered flaws. Government refuses to let the citizens know just how much is being spent. Looks like the NDP are taking a page out of the liberals handbook , on lying, and telling the citizens there is nothing to look at here, while they had lost control over there own program... https://nationalpost.com/opinion/leak-hints-at-extent-of-corruption-within-b-c-s-safer-supply-program
  16. Sure, you do you....how could you respect anyone , when you don't even respect yourself...your just looking for attention, why in gods good name would you admit to getting a DUI , like you thought that was a cool thing to do....like i said your looking for attention....your a sad little boy pretending to be a grown up.... PS i'm deeply sadden to hear you don't respect me...really it hurts me to no end, i feel bad when i collect my pension check, ...then it all goes away when i read your posts...thanks ....
  17. So what your saying is every life has a value, for you and your kind it is less than 8000.00....Liberals have not once meet spending targets this year alone they blew past it by 60 Billion dollars, enough to scan everything in this country....Don't tell me the left are concerned with spending money...i mean we have the last 8 plus years as an example.... This is the type of thinking that has ruined our military, it is cheaper to bury our volunteer soldiers than it is to proper equip them....now drug addicts are priced even lower than that....How much are you willing to pay if these addicts were a family member.... How much am i willing to pay, whatever it takes to solve this crises'....
  18. You are down playing like almost everyone else in Canada your message is it has been like this for decades why do we need to do anything, the war on drugs was a failure....is that about right... These drug cartels have or will be deemed terrorist, this is the highest threat level we have, meaning they can use military assets to hunt these bad guys down, we have never had this before, other than at sea...That and we have a crazy man in the white house who is going to unleash his SOF forces on cartels shortly...Is that going to make a change, who knows but something is going to happen that does not make me naive... Yes billions have been spent on Drug enforcement, but since then drugs have become more deadly than ever, with mere milligrams enough to kill....that 42 lbs of fentanyl seize was enough to kill 9.5 million people, and we only check 1 % of all trucks and containers entering into Canada...even i can do the math here...thats a hell of a lot more than everyone is making it out to be... SO i guess we give up , bury our heads in the sand....we can't do anything about trump but the left is hell bent on taking that on, but lets draw a line in the sand and say no to drug cartels and gangs...where fentanyl takes 22 people a day, and that number is only getting bigger... I'm not preaching , i don't understand why we as a nation did not just agree to the orange guy Yes we will tighten up our war on drugs, put some funding towards that, instead we dug our heels in and want those tariffs...just on principle how dare he threaten us...And your reasoning is well humans are going to take drugs anyways just let them , it thins the herd sort of...
  19. You remind me of an old karen who really has nothing to do but chirp, about nothing really, a person who has taken advantage of everything this country has to offer and has done absolutely nothing to help benefit this nation, your a taker nothing more , well lets add a chirper as well. Our military veterans have sacrificed so much for this nation physical health as well as mental health and your hero has publicly told a vet we are asking for more than we can give, just before going on the largest expenditure this country has seen in its history.... Don't sit there and tell me you respect vets, when you have shown nothing but disdain for those vets on this very forum..All i've done is told anyone that will listen is our country has not treated its vets with any kind of respect all the vets' want is to be treated like any other Canadian but some how thats is to much for you and other to wrap their tiny minds around... F*ck you and all those that supported your post...
  20. OK so why are we complaining about taking these now terrorists out of play, investing more into our own safety.... Why are you trying to downplay the amount of drugs being produced right here in Canada...45,000 Canadians have died from this one drug alone since 2016...Thats 22 persons a day, the other source i posted from the RCMP says cartel gangs are well established in Canada and producing enough fentanyl for canada and it is exporting it to the US, and european markets as well as Australia.... https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/news/2024/06/statement-from-the-minister-of-mental-health-and-addictions-and-associate-minister-of-health-on-the-overdose-crisis.html Well harper did nothing as well ....this excuse is getting old for a few reasons, Liberals have had 8 years to make any changes they wanted to....8 plus years they did nothing...and it was not becasue harper did nothing it was becasue they made that choice...next Fentanyl was not a major problem back then... Well since CBSA has already said they can only check or scan 1 % of all truck and containers coming into Canada if we invested more than the 1.38 we said we would we could stop all of these precursors' from coming into the country....we could make a huge dent in that problem....but it is only 45,000 Canadians, that have died, only 22 per day....what is the number we need to get to before our government and citizens demand we take some action That's the question we need to ask...If we can't spend money on defending ourselves or protecting citizens from organized crime What is the point of paying taxes?....what is the point of this union when it can't provide basic services?
  21. Look at you talking all tough, behind a keyboard no less...The army has spent millions of dollars teaching me all i need to know about surviving high intensity warfare, on top of that i have spent years learning many different self defense methods, so i doubt very much you'd even get close enough to my uniform or let alone to touching my person before i knocked you the f*ck out...you and all your friends... Ya afghanistan was one huge party, beer and hookers for everyone....Royal Regiment lost 32 of its members , while Canadia lost 158 Canadians most of them in combat, well over 400 have commited suicide after coming home....Every day we were outside the wire which was most of our tour, and then once inside the wire occasionally we were attacked by mortars and rockets, gunfire.... ...So ya relative safety by your terms......and during all that time i never once ran into a guy like you, all mouth and not balls... I'm not to worried how the public or you perceive me or my career..those that know me , know exactly what i did for this nation and those people are what counts....your just another fart in the wind....smells like sh!t, but quickly passes...
  22. Cheaper yes, but they would not be able to be used all year round as they don't have enough endurance under the ice...perhaps when new techs are found...other drawbacks are speed, and size is another factor when talking about how many weapons can be carried, and the ability of smashing through the arctic ice... That being said diesel/ AOP/ electric subs are the hardest to track, they are much quieter, cheaper to maintain, easier to repair.
  23. I retired in 2014, and did not keep my uniform, nor did i keep my mess kit...Did you keep your clown suit when you retired....
