  1. Perhaps your right, but currently our laws actually give our youth a upper hand when it comes down to crime..they recieve little to no sentences, thier slate is wiped clean once they become adults. will all that change if we except the status quo.... But changing our laws, bring about relealistic punishments for youth offenders, a massive education program, in the schools teaching them right from wrong, showing them the consquences, and what it costs in dollars and distress to it's victims....the parents should also be targeted with this education, not only should they be held responsiable for thier childrens actions but they also must take part in thier re education.... I have 2 examples , a 14 year kid stole my niebours brand new jeep, from his garage, which was open and the keys left in the ignition....he went into is home to get some tools, and returned in less than 5 mins, and this kid stole his jeep, and took it for a joy ride, drove it to our local gravel pit and tourched it....His insurance company did not pay it all out for serveral reasons, the veh was left insured, and had the keys in the ignition....so he was left a hefty bill, his insurance also went up considerably.... The Kid was found and charged with theft, and was later released, my niebour is now trying to go thru small claims court to atleast have the uninsured portion payed out by the kids parnets, but it is not looking to good.... since then this kid and 3 others have been charged once again with theft, this time over 6 vehs where found in the pit burnt.... My brother house was broken into, just before X-mas, by 2 youths...they tore the place up pretty good, tore x-mas presents open took the good ones , stole little items like piggy banks, spare change, a laptop, a camera etc etc....the police took one finger print, from a basement window, that had been jimmeyed open....after serveral months of investagation RCMP know who did it, but have no proof....these same kids have bragged about how easy steeling is, and how they keep getting away with it....and yes my brother was lucky to only have a mess to clean up, and a few items stolen....he is a victim of crime...he has since spent more than 4000.00 improving his security, trying to regain his since of security, that was lost when 2 punks broke into his place....one day these kids are going to run into someone that takes security to another level..and end up in a hospital, or worse dead...
  2. CDN Media These are just some of the contracts our government has put towards Canadians. Ottawa media Ottawa media NS media Ontario media
  3. I disagree with you because the sperwer was a good purchase for the amount of funds we wanted to spend...
  4. Good question one that proves my piont, if our military needs an aircraft the size of a C-17, already in production, which Canadian company can build them....right now....Same as the C-130J contract, or hey even the CH-47F all contracts mentioned in your links Who builds them in Canada.... In a perfect world i'd say buy Canadain if that product is the best in the market, but really there is more here than a few tax dollars and jobs it's lives of our soldiers...which i think should come first, call me old fashion, So we have not in the past made it a priorty to invest in our military industry, be it good times or bad.... Now that the economy is tanking all of sudden a contract worth 275 mil is going to save the auto workers...workers that where subject to a plant closing do to cost cutting measures put in place by whom....the same people who never even bid on the contract in the first place. which is whewre our attention should be focused.... Not some fancy reports quoting how much money we are spending down south, when our industries here in Canada do not have the capability to produce the equipment we are looking for....some how that is the governments fault how ? And come on now Denis Coderre he is your military critic....does he have a back ground in the military, has he served, has he studied military history, has he even served with the cadets....but he is qualified to comment on military matters....much in the same way i could comment on pig farming.... How much did the liberals spend on our military industry ?
  5. No this is a good example of what buying a few, samples of a product, limited training, limited parts, inexperiance crew....will get you...proving that buying on the cheap does not work, Cash and price always dictates most of our purchases....it was a cheap system and we got our money's worth...and in the end what did we buy, one of the expensive versions....only we made the same mistake and did not buy not enough of them....
  6. Canadian manufactures for the most part build componets, ie hardware, soft ware, nuts and bolts....there is not much Made in Canada , military equipment on the market, even the most sucessful equipment like the LAV III is built in Canada but owned by GM, a US company, that may or may not move it's plant on a whim....Our governments just do not support or put in large amounts of tax payers dollars to support any military industry....perfect example of this is ship building....Irvings ship yards have grown smaller, when was the last time they built a navy ship of any type....hell we can't even find a builder for a much needed AOR ship, which is basically a tanker, with hoses.... I guess the reason the US can do it is they are willing to pay for what they recieve, and our tax payer is not...perfect example is the LSVW, i'm sure that western star could have came up with a design , much better than the italian one...but the R&D funding was not there and we got what we paid for junk....but like i said there is tones of examples out there of Canadian made gone bad, or has gone to extremes to boost the price to increase company profits.... MLVW leaf springs, where made in the US, then disassemble sent to Canada, to be assemble by Canadians for serveral reasons, one so it could have a red maple leaf sticker on the door saying made in Canada, another to pad someones pocket.... other reasons is we don't order enough for anyone to make a large enough profit, this new truck contract is for only 1600 vehs...which is really only 2 or 3 years work max ....the military wants it product as fast as it can get it, often paying bonus for early delivery....to put that in perspect US Military orders 10 to 20 times that....keeping a company healthy for 10 or more years....look at the Humvee project... There is thousands of projects under way right here in Canada, like boots for instance we order 30 to 40 thousand pair, thinking it will be enough, the company retools gets 2 or 3 years work, then what, it retools and produces something else....mean while DND comes to the conclusion that hey we needed 30 to 40 thousand more....and while we wait for a new contract to be drawn up, our orginal supply has dried up and soldiers go with out....we have gathered a reputation amoung'st Canadian companies for being tight wads, and doing everything on the cheap....while the US orders a million boots on each contract keeping the bussiness viable for many years in the future....Add that to the fact we keep everything well past it's life expectancy... I read somewhere in an airforce mag that the CF-18 has a life expectancy of only 8000 flying hours, we bought them in 1982, well over 25 years old, the US does not operate any of these type, in fact they are already into the E and F models, thats 6 times removed or improved from the orginal...and our government plans to keep them flying until atleast 2017....now if an airliner told you your plane is over 30 years old would you fly in it....now our government is telling us not only will we fly in it, but take it into combat and stress it out well past the orginal specs.... Everything we own we keep well past 20 years, nothing that will sustain an industry, unlike the US that replaces everything in a timely basis and it sustains it's industry...all a cost to thier tax payers....something Canadians don't like, spending tax dollars or investing it in thier military, or sustaining industry....
  7. Serveral things wrong with this statement, one, those layoff's were planned well before the contract was put out, so the government decission has nothing to do with the lay offs....second this very company did not even bid on the contract, in fact no Canadian company did...Third the contract has specifically call for an already proven veh, in service with a NATO that have over 2 mil kms on the design.. One of the major problems in our military is buying equipment MADE IN CANADA, if we are not going to put dollars into military industry then we as Canadians should stop whinning when these contracts go else where...we can't have it both ways... In the past our military has gone to great lengths buying Canadian, or Made in Canada, equipment like our LSVW, italian design made by western star in BC....this veh has got to be the worst military veh in the world, poor design, poor materials, poorly made...it is junk...I'd rather go into battle with a russian lada with the roof cut off....with over 8 different vehs where tested the western stars veh placed dead last, however the government wanted it because it was made in Canada, the military had to take the veh down to the US desert in order for it to pass even the simplist requirements....I think when buying equipment it should be the best on the market, not the cheapest or how many canadian jobs will be created....the Lives of our soldiers should be placed first... This is one of many military projects that have failed...not many Canadian military success storys with made in Canada equipment.......
  8. It must get extremely frustrating, after pouring in all that effort and time only to have someone else take your thoughts and efforts into a new direction...I understand the whole concept of editing, but do you think they take it a little to far, to the point that it does not resemble your work, kind of like giving the editor your plan, your vision and having him write it.... Is there a time when that stops, take a look at Stephen king, are his books heavily edited? Or does he dictate the terms within the contract... I've read a lot of action junk, in my life, like William Johnston, he's wrote dozens of western, and military novels, now he's not a great writer, far from Clancy's calibre, but his books are addictive, I don't know what it is that holds the reader, they are extremely repetitive, very predictable, and at times very boring. And yet he sells these books by the thousands..... It's funny I have watched a series called "true confessions of a writer", more for tips and advice, come to think about it they rarely talk about the negative side to writing, be it for a profession, or hobby. Thanks for giving a peek at whats it like to be a writer.
  9. I'm not sure, a few years back a military guy i knew got a science fiction novel published. He was disppionted on how his work was changed, how little control he had over the actual end product. and how little they actually paid him, i think he still writes, never read any of his works...they say stay with what you know, and well after 28 years of the military it is really all i know.... I read alot of Tom Clancy's, novels so maybe something along those lines.... I have no thoughts of grandure or striking it rich, just something to keep me busy, once i retire and if i can make a few bucks at it, pay a few bills then i would be good with that....
  10. Hey Al, i did'nt know you were a writer, I've always wanted to give writing a try, just not sure how to start, or for that matter if i could make a living at it. Any tips.
  11. You'd think that with an IQ of 140 my penis would be better at convincing women to go home with me....
  12. I believe you have a good understanding what War is and a fair understanding of what it is like, and the problems that each soldier is faced with while there and on his return to our nation.....i do appreciate your caring about our well being and mental health.... But i just want to make a few things clear, Most soldiers don't feel used by our government, we understand our role that we play within our nation...we also fully understand the circumstances in which we are to serve our nation, that War and all that it entails will play a great part in our service....We also understand that sometimes the use of force is the only remaining polictical tool left in the tool box....Canada has a great record of using that tool with great care and thought... Most missions we take have noble beginnings such as helping a nation stand up out of the ashes of 30 plus years of war...to assist thier military in destroying an enemy that only wants to enslave thier people, enforce thier religious belives thru death, and fear.... To most Canadians whom have never known war, and it's tragic outcomes it is hard to imagine why our nations soldiers would volunteer for this type of thing....Most soldiers have seen war and all of it's evil it brings, many times....and to be able to offer up the gift of peace, security, a chance to live normally is a honorable mission.... We are the men and women that stand the line, where they are to weak or just unable to stand up for themselfs.... I've told this story many times here, so bear with me....during my first tour in Afgan while on patrol i had the privilege of sharing my lunch with a very young Afgan girl, you see this girl had both her hands cut off, and her father was murdered in front of her....her only crime was going to school....A very tramactic event to say the least, one that would have shatter my dreams of an education forever....instead this little girl wanted nothing else but her education, to honor her father, to better herself, her family ...it was'nt until after that i thought if this little girl can have the courage to case her dream, after lossing both her hands, her father, and under constant death threats.... Then i could atleast have the courage, to play some little role in making sure her dreams become an reality.... And while each soldier has different reasons for being over here, not many of them feel they are being used by our government....we see it as a mission in which we can make a difference, albiet a small one in the grand scheme of things, but a difference none the less....politics aside, Canadains need to ask themselfs Why is it our soldiers feel the way they do with this Afgan mission, could they be on to something ?....if they are willing to risk everything including thier lives....why do we dislike this mission so much ?....
  13. This is a question i've asked myself a thousand times, the answer always becomes clear when i return home, from overseas....Yes it is worth it, to step of that plane and see what our country has to offer ....We are very lucky to live in the nation we do, to have the freedoms we have, to still have our morals and values we deem Canadian, to have that feeling when taking those first few steps onto Canadian soil, it is hard to explain, excitement, elation, to see your family, to see Canadians and our flag flapping in the wind ...sadness for leaving comrads behind... and the other aquaintances you've made that are less fortunate than we are.... all rolled into one great ball of emotion...makes me proud to be a Canadian , it's an honor to serve our country to be a member of such an elite club of men and women... I remember when i first seen that Vid clip of our comrads being escorted to toronto, making thier way to the conors office,in a long line of hearses it brought tears to my eyes, it brought up those same emotions once again....to see all those people lined up to pay thier respects to a soldiers they did not know personal....was... well a great Canadian moment for me....today there is serveral versions of this clip, each one tells a story, most soldiers i know have a copy of atleast one of them....and when times are tough we play them once more.... So when i'm asked is it worth it....Damn right it is... to wear our countries uniform, with the flag of Canada on my shoulder is an honor, and a privilage....to serve with fellow Canadians who are some of the best our country has to offer....a chance to represent the best country in the world....Ya it's worth it....
  14. I fail to see how it is the governments problem, should it not start at home, and how we teach our kids....
  15. Like i said i'm not an expert, but perhaps i'm not reading or understanding the law in regarding treason, i thought it was very clear, it seems very clear cut to me, now i know the law profession has some need for legal double talk, and double meanings....but the note below seems pretty clear to me.... The tape found at the place of the attack, clearly shows Mr Omar planting mines and IED's...he brags about wanting to kill US and NATO forces.... he is engaged in according to Canadian law terrorist activties....unless i misread that one as well....but how can he be charged with one and not the other.... Wrong , Canada started combat operations in 2001, in which Canada joined serveral coalition nations in the "war on terror"....starting with a naval contribution in 2001 , then at the beginning of 2002 Canadain ground forces took part in serveral operations there. DND site. I don't think Canada wanted to handle this topic not yesterday not tommorow.....i think it will all be swept under the carpet to appease most people ...mean while it answers nothing it, sets no precedence for the next case....and it sends a serveral clear message to our troops.... One Canadians do not have the stomach to let justice be served, when it comes to terrorist.....that being the case why even take prisoners ? Canadians have made it very clear, to all our soldiers....they will hold us to the highest of standards, in regards to our actions, our moral and ethical codes, and our conduct....and yet it seems to me our soldiers can not hold Canadians to the same standards..... I agree, but precedence has already been set here, we have in the past charged teenagers under 15 years old with adult crimes and have sentenced them to adult time...So i agree let the courts decide... Here is where i have problems, after all we are not talking about a crime scence in Canada, which is thoughly processed by qualified people.... what we are talking about is a bunch of grunts who's job is to close with and destroy the enemy, by any means possiable....once that is completed we move on to the next job...not secure it to allow the police and CSI guys time to process it...it is combat Most of the evidance is destroyed in the fight, we do not collect the dead unless they are ours, we don't have our conors examine the enemies dead....we leave them to be collected by other bad guys....we after all know how they died, we shot, bombed, them to shit....i guess my rant is about if we collect no evidance after we are finished then those captives which are tried in Canadian courts will go free....regardless if they are guilty or not.... My beef with the Khadrs is this .... the fact they live under the protection and laws that i serve, while the same group is doing or has done everything to undermine them....I know many afgan citizens that have risked thier lives in thier and our struglle to win thier freedoms....and if offered a chance to live in Canada would do so in a second, all with out spitting in our faces while doing it.... Not every trail is the same, in alot of cases all thier is is individual reports and testimonies....not very acurate at best, but all they have....we have a saying in the military, looks like shit , smells like shit, then it must be shit.... You have to admit, mr omar case is thin as well,...if with alot of the evidance being thrown out...the tape omar made for a keep sake , is proof he was involved in the very least terrorist activites....and if he is guilty of that then there is the treason route....he was there in the building ,a rifle found not 2 feet away, strange to say the least...now on the battlefield it would be enough for me to take his life....but in a court of law, he will more than likely walk....with a huge check to boot.... There would not have been a problem if the US had right off confirmed his status....combatant , non combatant, etc....found him gulity as a combatant and held him as a prisoner of war until the conflict is over.... Again i'm not sure where you are going with this, I don't agree to what was done at gitmo, i don't agree with torture, let me rephase that i don't think Cdn soldiers should have anything to do with torture.....now what the other nations do with thier POW's is thier bussiness and let the inter national courts and laws deal with them....i will say this had omar been released to Afgan police he'd been dead long ago...he's very lucky that the Americans kept him.... NONE, this is going to turn into a cluster f*** and the military should step well away from it.....leave it to the government to handle.... I hope it does, and i hope justice is served....because alot of soldiers follow this case closely for different reasons, i know i have strong feelings about all the sweat blood and tears i've put into Afgan, seen alot of good people loaded into hercs.....to much has happen to think we have a whole family of Al Quada spitting on all that....living off some of my tax dollars....we are giving aid to the enemy....
  16. Look i'm not a legal expert, nor do i claim to be, but his acts sure fit the discription....you judge from the text below...Keeping in mind that he has been taped planting IED's and mines in AFgan againt'st NATO forces... "... (a) kills or attempts to kill Her Majesty, or does her any bodily harm tending to death or destruction, maims or wounds her, or imprisons or restrains her; ( levies war against Canada or does any act preparatory thereto; or © assists an enemy at war with Canada, or any armed forces against whom Canadian Forces are engaged in hostilities, whether or not a state of war exists between Canada and the country whose forces they are." legal site Yes i do believe he is, him and his brothers. and i have no idea why he has not been charged, perhaps they where waiting for the US to levy some sort of punishment... This case and so many others like it have turned into a cluster f***, trying to prove his status ie combantant, non combatant, terrorist etc ...has been screwed up, throw in the torture gambit and all the evidance it gathered is tainted....you tell me why the US can't prove it's case in court.... I'm not sure where you are going with this, both military and civilian courts are tied to the same laws. Canadian laws, inter-national laws , and genva conventions...in Fact military justice sys has special laws when dealing with discipline of our own soldiers.... So in a war zone i would say yes. In the Case of Omar where is he not held within a war zone, i would say he should be tried in a civilian court, That being said one can not expect the same level of evidence to apply, there is no crime scene to inspect, in most cases there is not enough time to collect evidence it is after all a battle field....collecting evidence for future charges is not even on a soldiers mind after a battle....so in most cases there is no body, no ballistic samples, DNA, etc etc just patrol reports, after action reports , and if the incident is or comes under investigtion, then individual accounts may be taken but these are sometimes months after the event.... By all means, it should be accountable for everything it does, within reason...what i mean is that our actions have to be placed in context to what you have asked us to do, for instance an F-18 pilot drops a bomb on a target, and non combatents are killed and wounded, he should not be charged with murder...unless it was his intentions to cause those deaths.... But in Omars case it has nothing to do with our military, he is an American Captive, under the control of the US government. So do you think he should get a blank check, and if so why ? and have we in the past charged children with adult crimes and given adult sentences ?
  17. Oleg, Have you had a chance to see this soldier again, will he give you his info...please tell him it will be kept in confidence, and it won't cost him a thing....
  18. So i take it you disagree with Mr.Harper, but where is your proof, your source....I hope your not basing your opinion on what these two groups have printed ... .Because thier opinions and definitions mean squat when it comes down to Canadian, inter- national laws, and the genva convention.... Now these documents and organizations are what we should be moulding our opinions on....not some medias third or forth source of info..."Ya did you hear what the janitor said over at the UN HQ".... By Canadian Law Mr Omar was involved in a terrorist group, and carried out terrorist activites....All of this is on tape... Canadian law is very clear about consitutes Treason... Inter-national law, also has a difination of a terrorist, and terrorist activities, although vague they are there.... Genva convention, is very clear on who is considered a soldier, non combatant, illigal combatant, and a terrorist. it describes in detail what each is entitled to...and what is not entitled to any coverage at all. What we need to ask our selfs is at what piont does a 15 year old boy become accountable for his actions....does he cross that piont at murder, rape, what about treason, which correct me if i'm wrong but is'nt that the worst crime on our books....We have in our past held young offenders accountable, and charged them with adult crimes in an adult court....WHY Does becoming a child soldier give him a blank check.... Do we start calling young gang bangers within our own cities under the age of 18 child soldiers, do they get a blank check, to reign terror on anyone at any time ....because if you twist the orginal intention of Child soldiers enough pretty soon you can encompass alot of groups and people....
  19. Thanks, if this guy is who he claims then he is a brother in arms, and i'm sure any soldier serving would do the same thing... Yes war does suck, and as long as there is war there will be PTSD and other mental health issues....every soldier is different, and reacts differently to the effects of war....but one thing is for sure, it will change everyone....with every tour you do.... But like they say time normally heals all wounds, or atleast allows you to live with those ghosts and nightmares....Problem with PTSD is that alot of soldiers still think it only effects the weak, and will not seek help as they allow thier pride to get in the way....And normally will not get help until thier lives come crashing down, marriages break up, abuse of drugs and drink, in debt...other problems....but once they seek help everything recovers...but it takes that crash for everything to get started....Because in thier minds only the weak get PTSD.... PTSD needs to be treated by a professional, time heals nothing....without help....and it can effect anyone, from the model soldier, to wifes and families of soldiers.... I had just got back from Afgan on my second tour, me and the wife were going to Sobbeys, I guy cuts me off, and in a milisecond i'm back in Afgan i down shift the car and speed up to ram his car.....well you can imagine the caus in the car, my wife is freaking out, my kids are screaming....they're not the only ones freaking out, i came within inches of this guys car, he pulled over....i screach to a halt in the middle of the road, get out of my car, and run over to the other drivers window, the whole time reaching for my side arm....i remember calling myself an idiot for forgetting my rifle....and when i can't find my side arm i start to panick....i turn to look back at the car....and my wife yelling at me...and everything became clear...i was not part of my LAV crew, in Afgan , i was back in petawawa, the car i had forced off the road was not an insurgent but a Canadian...now an extremely scared and pissed off Canadian....lets just say, i was not allowed to drive for sometime "wifes orders", i did appoligize to the guy but he did'nt understand, hell i did'nt understand... and just took off glad to be away from that asshole...meaning me.... I went to see the health clinic...and was told i did not have PTSD, but rather readjustment problems....things did get better for me....even allowed to drive now but instead of forcing people off the road i just smile and say you lucky bastard....and in a few mths i'll have to do it all over again....My wife has already hidden my keys....
  20. Here is when the evidance tells a different story. The below mentioned tape confirms that Omar our little boy soldier, was building explosives, and in shows him and some buddies planting IED's which is a crude explosive device that has killed so many of our soldiers....So from the tape we know that he was involved in making devices which is terrorist activties....second some of those very same buddies seen on the tape are killed in that same attack Omar is wounded....third the same building in which is shown on the tape is the same one where the attack occured.... It's not a school, nor a playground not an orfanage we are all lead to believe....but a palce where terrorist make bombs to be used again'st NATO soldiers..... An AK 47 was found just 2 or 3 feet away from where Omar was found, and yet no one else was found with 20 to 30 feet from him.... Yes it could be anyones, but then again if put into context his buddies also on that tape where armed, and all where involved in the attack....which is what it was Afgan soldiers knocked on the door, the occupants responded with a burst of automatic wpns fire....not the usual way to answer the door even for Afganis...anyways 2 Afgan army soldiers are struck down and killed, a third was shot in the back as he tried to take cover....Yup sounds like a school to me.... the occupants of the house then took this fight into the yard it is hear that once pined down by NATO and Afgan rifle fire, that arty was called in killing most of them.... the rest where killed during the assualt to take the house..... Omar has been reported he threw that greande over is shoulder, yes a US grenade, available world wide, including Afgan....available to all that can afford them or find them....and the only one that truely knows if he did it is the dead US medic, and omar.... Khadr tape Which adults , where were these adults there the night he was wounded, or are you saying that those adults he was left with where terrorists....and where involved in this attack....please clarify....Because Omar was seen on tape with a few of his buddies roughly the same age, all alone planting IED's laughing and joking, bragging about killing NATO soldiers.....he could have at this time just left....he is 15 years old, able to atleast think and act on his own...instead he has taken action on his own , he is planting IED's and in Afgan that will get you killed....NATO Rules of engagement put this activity as one that Deadly force is Authorized....one that i'm sure that these terrorist are very much aware off....making IED's or bombs is taken very seriously in Afgan and they all knew that hence why they attacked the Afganis army whom were knocking at the door... So while i would agree with you that he may not have had much chioce in being sent to Afgan....he did have a choice on his actions while he was there... "My quote" "Your response" You can be a soldier at any age, In Canada the legal age is 17 years old with parent consent....but in other countries any age is acceptable hence the term Child soldiers....which is what i think you where alluding to...but in this case he is neither, he is a terrorist,a criminal...nothing more....that is acording to Canadian law, inter-national law and the genva conventions....The whole child soldier concept was proposed for those children forced into military service by thugs, and scumbags....in this case the thug is his father, mother, and his religion....A batter question would be do we give him a free ride, because of his age...do we give children a free ride in Canada for serious offenses such as rape, murder, etc....or are they tried as adults... Actually if you had read the link they are from serveral different papers, and while there may be a chance they are all hacks it's funny that they are all reporting the same thing....Our media is controled in printing something that is false,or slanderous leaving them open to charges themselfs...i'm sure it was checked out before printing....And i'm sure the Khadrs would take advantage of that potential pay out... This case has been a cluster **** since it's inception, by all parties involved, but we should not forget the fact that Omar case needs justice...and not forgotten simply because we feel guilty of what has been done to him.
  21. Oleg if you are concerned about this soldier then you should get his name , address, service number and his home unit name. Give them to me and i will forward them off to off to those agencies that will and can offer this soldier some help. There is many organizations avaiable to him provided by the military and medical system. His old unit once informed of his status will also investage his circumstances... Many major bases have mental health clinics, these services are available to all past and prestent service members... If there is no mental health clinics around his arera, often these services will be contracted out to a civilian clinic... Military obudsmen is also available, they are outside the military chain of command and will act very quickly to ensure he gets the help he needs....and can be contacted , by email or letter, or phone. if you want i will get all the info you need to contact this agency... There is a Federal program already in place to get our soldiers off the streets and get them the help they need....oddly enough it was headed up and started by an NDP MP.....I'm am still looking for that contact info.... Then there is the VA hospital, which will see him free of charge and if his meds are the wrong ones they will change it.... So there is help available and if your story is true he will recieve it... All that being said your soldiers story has alot of holes in it. There is alot of checks and balances that are in place to ensure this type of thing does not happen, as with all systems it's not perfect...if his mental heath issues were a problem at the time of release but he failed to make it known he may of been bypassed the help he really needs...In is still entitled to help....but he needs to seek it out.... Most soldiers training for Afgan require a 6 mth build up training, be it reserve or reg force members, add that to a tour of 6 mths , and this soldier should have had at the very min of one years wages, a Cpl makes roughly 52,000 a year, keeping in mind that 6 mths "while he is on tour is TAX free"....plus approx 15 to 25 thousand in bonus pay, also tax free.... Also personal with mental health issues must seek treatment, as they are easy enough to hide, that being said all it takes is for anyone, his buddies, chain of command to mention it and this soldier will be forced into seeing a mental health specialist and will remain on duty until his problem is fixed....or controlled. That being said if he does have a mental health issue then he may qualify for a medical pension... As for killing hundreds this may have been a slight exageration on his part, As with any soldier that has taken a life, he would have been forced to see a padre after the incident , plus a mental health doctor, plus at the end of the tour he would have to repeat the process again....this time in a longer secession....He would have attneded what we called a hotwash, where Sections sit down and discuss the events which gives soldiers a time to vent, and time for supervisors to take notes keeping tabs on the mental health levels of his section....
  22. So there we have it, Ontario's orginal question, but i'd like to ask my own: Canadian laws state just how far our freedoms of speech and personal expression can be exericised, in Ontario's explaination of his signature is he clearly exericising his freedom of speech or has he crossed the line by infringing on other groups rights ? I have said this before that that i do agree with some of your arguments, I'm not a gay rights flag waving fan. What i do believe in is our charter of rights, Canadain values and morals, that they should apply to all across the board, be it a way of life, a race, a religion, etc...We as a nation can not pick and choose those that we grant these rights to. As it would under mind the entire charter, and those very values and morals we stand for. They say you fear what you do not understand, and you've made it clear serveral times you don't understand Canada's military. Canada's military does spread the "love" with the barrel of a gun, amongst the many other things it does Non combat related but it does so under Canadian and inter-national law and most importantly Canadian Values and morals. So while it may seem "rich" to you, clearly you have not upheld those very same Values and morals that you demand and expect our nations military be held accountable to. Then reread some of your comments below, your not making an argument "why" you disagree, but rather sharing your clouded opinion that is not based on fact or some study but rather your views, that could be considered hateful...once again you fear what you do not understand. Do you notice when somebody disapears from the street and in ensnared in the gay lifestyle? Nope. Do you notice when somebody goes missing from your community when the die of HIV/AIDs? Nope. Or when the are abused by a sexual predator and then commit suicide? Nope. We do not know what a gay society will entail, but we do know that homosexuality is high risk and self-destructive, and that a society governed by gay ideals will likely go into decline. Yes, that is what he means, and that's what I mean by comparing the GRM to the Nazis. Once these people are in place, have power and authority, control the government and media, then there will be no discussion about this issue unless you want to suffer the consequences Personally, I believe that the gay rights movement is to Western Civilization's detriment (just as homosexuality was a detriment to certain ancient civilizations like the Spartans and Imperial Rome) and see a modern parallel in the spread of the "gay rights" ideology in the Nazi movement in 1930s.
  23. Making new friends i see, Thats the problem when you try and spread hate.... lets face it your a homophobe, and other things with a chip on his shoulder.. Maybe thats exactly what you need a couple weeks in Gay camp, with a pair of assless chaps, a cowboy hat, a large bottle of perfum call bend me over....and a tray full of fruity drinks....maybe they even let you in on thier plan for world domination...
