  1. It is on my maps...Are you taking the red pills again...
  2. Not even sure there is a discussion about WHY Canada was not invited, what is it that Canada has to offer ? i mean we already got rid of all our junk military equipment, even sent some new stuff that was suppose to be delivered to our own military....so without any real military orders to redirect what is it we as a nation have to offer....Nothing of any real value...Want a seat at the table you need to do more on the global front....
  3. I find the liberals party has no integrity at all, Carney had to fire one of his MP, over some made up excuse to get his seat.. , ..while PP actually had one of his MP volunteer his seat...and lets not pretend this is about money, when the liberal party has literally thousands of examples of handing contracts to friends and family, gave funding to terrorist, spent bils upon bils on stupid investment projects, battery plants ring a bell, and many many more examples....so we know it is not about wasting any money ,because the liberals are specialist on wasting money...
  4. Hard to tell your from Quebec, with all your French bias...
  5. That's not what i said, stop jumping to conclusions, 200 years ago we still had extreme climate events, even with less people on earth, every time something happens the climate crowd screams like their hair is on fire....and points see proof of climate change....Humans have effected our environment and in some cases to the extreme, and we may have effected our climate to some degree, are we going to burn up i don't think so.... so lets not blame every squirl fart in the woods on climate change....
  6. Well at least he did not pull a carney and fire the MP on some made up story.... that was in a liberal safe seat, then steal his riding, i did not see any liberals stand up and volunteer their seats to Carney...liberals don't do things like that instead they have to be sneaky and pull the old you your fired here is the story we made up, and then he has not even bother to set up a HQ in his riding...
  7. I do believe humans have influenced climate change to a point in time .....how much human influence was there on the climate 200 years ago...and yet climate changed its patterns and extremes back then as well...
  8. All that proves is BC has not been doing forest management for over 7 years now, and the others still are saying the same thing over and over....This is not just a BC problem every province is doing the same thing very little...and if climate change is a thing then all these factors combined should be pointing to a red flag....that perhaps we should be doing something in the way of Forrest management or stop complaining about fires...or buy a house in the middle of the lake.
  9. In localized areas...yes we have all heard of those bans....but this is to the entire province...it includes woods and lakes and rivers.... 1) NB is 72,000 sq KM, with several small fires burning...i would have to drive 3 hours to get to one...and be through it in 15 mins, besides it is not about fires it is about the lack of resources for rescue which is bullshit...other than local resources being used to fight fires everyone else is going about their own day...with fires hours away... 2) NB has had fires all the time, it is prepared, it has resources to fight them as any province would, the issue is the provincial liberal government panicked and dropped the hammer done, like any rookie government would do...
  10. And the problem is what, it is to big so we don't do any Forrest management in BC, what is it that you want me to say, i've given you 3 or 4 sources that say BC is not doing much for Forrest management, which is attributing to your fire season...if you guys can't help yourself then i'd start buying more water bombers and training fire fighters...
  11. A quick search on goggle and i found these all of them do not paint BC Forrest management in a good light....and i'm sure this could be said for the entire country...clear cut practices have been the norm here in NB leaving behind tons of fuel for fires, that and constant blow downs from storm's make traveling in the woods on foot a major test of skill. Compare our forrest with say germany, there is no comparison forrest management takes on a whole new meaning, but becasue we have a huge abundance of trees we don't really care about Forrest management..and why we have so many fires... https://thetyee.ca/Analysis/2024/11/25/What-If-BC-Totally-Wrong-Forest-Management/ https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/forest-management-could-be-causing-more-harm-than-good-says-ubc-prof-1.4777025 https://www.aptnnews.ca/national-news/b-c-timber-industry-in-throes-of-change-as-premier-warns-of-exhausted-forests/ https://ipcaknowledgebasket.ca/restoring-forestry-in-bc-the-story-of-the-industrys-decline-and-the-case-for-regional-management/
  12. they have closures in locally here as well around fires....,the total ban is a sledge hammer approach to hamming in a finishing nail...it does nothing accept ban the 99% of people who know and practice fire safety...to the few mor0ns that like to burn shit...and when question about it they change the goal posts it is not about fire, it's about not being able to rescue people...
  13. In addition to not actually following the conversation, we have been talking about banning people from the woods....something that BC with all their fires and more acreage burnt than most provinces, has not done....why is that? is it unnecessary, in their eyes it is...in most other provinces they have not banned all people for activities in the woods, or lakes...only NS/NB have gone to the extremes and banned people from enter the wood line, not because of fires, but because of rescue.... Most if not all provinces already have similar plan as you have touted....My question and objective here was to ask why most provinces in flames right now do they ban people from the entire province...
  14. Irving does logs and pulp and paper almost all year,if he's not cutting then their hauling them out of the woods, and ya during the fire season...our fire season is not as bad as they have it out west, where thousands of hectare are burning... Where did i say that, our climate is constantly changing, and has been since before man could walk. a few hot days and the climate crowd screams about climate change and the end of the world...i wish they would make up their minds...
  15. And yet your source has got nothing to do with fines for just being in the woods....twe are talking about the ban on all activity in the woods...not starting fires....every province has huge fines for starting fires...
  16. Yes they do,this is the first year that NB has a ban on any activity in the woods, except during covid...So ya so much for that idea....so why this year, no one knows....it is a political thing not a safety issue...NB premier has as much said so...IT"S NOT ABOUT FIRES....it's about not being able to rescue anyone....
  17. I wonder how much is spent on combating drunk driving....and yet we don't slap these excessive fines on them, maybe they are on to something...
  18. And yet BC has much more reasonable prevention policies and fines why is that, i mean BC burns every year....despite all of that spending...if you in favor of these higher fines you should be lobbying BC government to bring this policies to life...such as 25,000 fines and complete bans to any activities in the woods or lakes...
  19. No one in NB has lost their home, or lifes or livelihoods, except those that work in forrest industrys, due to the ban.
  20. I get it stay out of the bush,or face 25,k fine which is excessive...., and somehow it is not excessive to you...so why are we not fining everyone 25 k for serious offenses...
  21. The actions the Federal government are taking is against legal gun owners, law abiding gun owners...Not criminals that don't obey those federal laws anyways...thats the problem everyone has, the federal government wants to control illegal firearms form crossing the border, and to restrict guns available to criminals, and like most government policy they decided to attack law abiding and legal gun owners instead of using that money in more policing and controlling borders.. Much like the woods ban, instead of investing more into Forrest management, water bombers, etc, they just restrict people from going into the woods... if this type of action was effective why has not all the provinces acted this way, or maybe it is justy over handed, and does nothing to solve the problems...
  22. Then we should apply this logic to everything, 25 K for drinking and driving first offense, 25 K for speeding in a school zone, the law is the law right....where most people disagree is the fine does not match the level of the crime...
  23. Actually we do have Off Road enforcement officers who's job is patrolling the woods to enforce our laws on our trail system, along with DNR which patrol the woods and trails constantly to enforce laws regarding wild life etc....both have powers of arrest and enforce the laws where regular police can't go in a car. ...not to mention RCMP on the water ways, and also doing off road enforcement during major atv or off road events with atv's... Not to mention regular people that use these trails, they know what is at stake and can and will report any misdeeds to police if need be....
  24. Not sure of the time line but a lot of things have changed over the last couple of decades, All of our bases use to be restricted access areas closed to the public, Civilian world complained and the rules were changed, with the exception of out of bounds areas, and restricted areas...all for good reasons....most buildings are locked and the area patrolled by MP's and duty staff, along with surveillance equipment. Unit lines with vehicles or other sensitive equipment such as weapons or high value vehicles have a 24/7 duty staff plus some high tech surveillance equipment... today finger printing and back ground checks are not necessary unless it is for an out of bounds area or restricted area. Not sure on construction teams, as our unit always had a 24 /7 duty staff on 365 days a year, and then contractors were restricted to the area they were working on... Each base is different , also each element, ie army, airforce, navy take security matters differently( all had the same rules, just practiced them differently)...Civilian staff also work much different hours, ie in Gagetown civilian workers worked until 4 pm, with one or more military to supervise, including fridays, with exception to a few special days ...on the military side most fridays afternoons yes we would go to minimum manning and most would be at home. I'M very surprised the military let you stay without someone over looking unattended people in the area...that is not the norm...and would raise more than a few eyebrows...and in a restricted area, that would mean someone getting fired or jailed...
  25. Sauntering around a military is not restricted, the General public have access to the base, you can drive around all you want....during normal operating hours, what is restricted is going into out of bounds areas , or buildings that have been restricted is normally locked and marked out of bounds to any unauthorized personnel... most unit lines and compounds have duty staff on 24 hours a day, with some fancy surveillance gear to keep out unwanted visitors....If you wonder into a unwanted area someone will see you and ask you to leave, refuse and well lets say that would not be my first choice, That being said the rules to enter the base are posted outside for all to read, for instance ANYONE on a military base is subject to search at any time, they do not need cause or a warrant, entering any restricted areas, or out of bounds areas and you may be subject to arrest and detention until handed over to civil authorities...that could take hours the MP will want to know why your there ...but during working hours any base is free for the public to visit, as long as you mind where your going and not be a menace... Hunting and fishing in training areas, is allowed , however you must sign in and out through range control, here they will brief you of any out of bounds areas, or restricted areas, along with any areas troops are training in, what ranges are using live ammo etc......again this is enter at your own risk, military have a tendency to drive without headlights in a lot of areas, just last year 2 people on a atv ran into a LAV on the main MSR, LAV 6 weighs in at over 25 tons those people did not know what hit them, So it is a real good idea to stay within the areas your allow to be in...when there are large concentrations of troops training they will restrict the entire training areas, but normally there are plenty of areas civilians use...in fact there is an NB ATV trail that runs along the one side of the CFB Gagetown training area...which is 1100 sq kms
