It really surprises me that in todays world , in our country that has claimed we are superior to so many nations around the world in regards to human rights , that we as Canadian citizens and our government see our service members as a liability and actually don't give a rats ass about our vets...So much that our justice system has publicly back our government efforts to discard any vets claims....in the last 2 years this government has gone to court and they have decided that that a)The federal government is not responsible to provide a safe and harassment free work place...AND now the government does not have to look after vets that become injured while on duty to this nation, that they have NO social contract to look after anybody for any injury in a federal work place....The government is now making head way to cancel ALL medical released soldiers benefits…. replacing them with a duty to employ, regardless of injury...if you can't be employed, here is the return of contributions to your pension, have a nice life....this will be policy in the near future, these are the new cost saving measures that our government and CDS have agreed to...... And yet the government has not changed any of its laws regarding soldiers disregarding orders that may result in death, or what they call unlimited liability...that states a soldier must obey every command even if it results in their death.....now disregarding or refusing this order once was punishable by death with out trail, after before WII it was changed to needs a trail, but still could result in death....now it is just punishable by imprisonment, and dishonorable discharge, try getting employment after that....And we thought that since we had to basically put our lives in our nations hands, in return we would get looked after if wounded, or killed....Now our nation says F**** you, we don't owe you shit...we make the rules here, so now with no work mans comp, no social contract to be looked after....we get shown the door , to live with our injuries the rest of our lives , with no compensation..... I mean this very government has not over turned a decision to give a convicted killer of a 9 year old, the right to be sent to a healing lodge....nor has it over turned giving a convicted murder VAC benefits for PTSD that he got killing a police officer, and did not serve one F888ing day of service to his country....What kind of message are we sending our soldiers....and RCMP members, here is what I hear....F**** you, you piece of shit....you do not deserve the sweat off a monkeys balls....unless perhaps you kill a 9 year with a hammer, or a police officer then maybe we will look after you.....until then there is the door....What a great recruiting ad that would make....the liberals love criminals but spit on vets I wish there was some emoji of someone hanging a moon, because that is what I think this post needs.... https://nationalpost.com/opinion/david-j-bercuson-angry-veterans-today-a-unionized-canadian-military-tomorrow https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/veterans-federal-election-candidates-1.3230996 https://ipolitics.ca/2016/05/19/why-is-trudeau-kicking-veterans-to-the-curb/ https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/the-conservatives-treatment-of-veterans-is-hypocritical/article15564363/ http://www.rcinet.ca/en/2013/11/11/royal-legion-concerned-by-treatment-of-canadas-war-veterans/ I love this country , but hate where it is going.... .

Again this is another topic that is off limits because if you do discuss this your a racist mother trucker with tattoos on your ass that say "Born to ride and shoot shit" ....and we are not the only Canadians that are concerned over immigration, fact is the majority of Canadians have various levels of concerns about immigration and accepting refugees....all one has to do is honestly look at what is happening in Europe right now....the right side is gaining numbers not because immigration and the flood of refugees is working because it is not. or these groups would just be back ground noise….Time for discussion is now, yes even for you liberal minded Canadians....come out and talk to the racists ...sorry I meant conservatives were not contagious . -
I hope your not saying that the liberals MP's are genius, because we already know Justin is not the brains of the outfit....or should I say the brains of people kind because we want to be more inclusive.....

She beat to death a 9 year old with a hammer....here is a case for life in prison...I mean life never to get out....not some healing lodge with no fences, plus she has access to children while there....WTF are we thinking....And now the family has got to deal with this because our government does not have the balls to make sure this type of thing does not happen again....It sad really, a 9 year old robed of everything and some one is worried about the killers welfare....some times I think we should bring back the death penalty...

Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?
Army Guy replied to Hoser360's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'd be interested in what you think is so good about our naval ships , can't be talking about our destroyers which are either sunk or sold for scrap, with no replacement in the near future...could it be the AOP's that are getting built , the ships the navy did not want....maybe it is our Frigates , first one built in 1987, the last one built in 1995....have already been through one refit, first one starting in 2007 and the last one completed in 2016, not all the refit items were completed due to lack of funding....and our ships do not hold a candle todays modern naval ships being produce today.....Talk to some navy guys, ... Infantry vehs not sure what ones, not the TLAV a M113 built in the 50"s and still being used , here and in Afghanistan.....the new LAV 6, they cut the LAV III in half , discarded the bottom half, welded the old top half on to a new chassis, some new paint and poof its new ….....because there was not enough funds to purchase enough new ones, remember the Saudis spent 15 bil on 750, LAV 700, we only had 4.5 bil .....not to mention they did not replace any of the lost LAV III we suffered in Afghanistan, no to make up those numbers they purchased the new TPAV, the troops call it the boat, because soldiers constantly get movement sickness from them, when it is in forward motion....ya it's funney....it was the cheapest veh on the market , that the soldiers did not pick it was chosen by highly qualified politicians....cause they know best right.... To top off all that , the army has a critical shortage of wheeled vehs, most more than 50 % are sitting in compounds because they are to rusted to drive. most of what is left is restricted to the training areas...with orders ""do not drive on public streets", the regular army has stripped most of the reserve forces of their wheeled vehs to make up some of the lost numbers....that was in 2012....and still today there are no vehs being delivered.....The Army can not move troops or supplies in large numbers...not to mention all the other shitty vehs we have or the out of date vehs we drive such as the Leo IIA4,some 25 years old, which we bought used....already in long term storage by the Dutch, I bet they are still laughing . to put that in prospective Germany is working on producing the leo II A8. we still don't have a modern tracked IFV, forcing us to repurpose M113 made in the 50's.... -

Most new Aircraft started off as a boondoggle, teething problems....The Israelis have already used there on combat missions, in some of the worlds deadest anti air environments in the world...guess the damn thing works.....One question, would you strap your son or daughter into a Canadian F-18 and send them into combat with todays modern aircraft....say gen 4 planes....and hope they are good enough.....because that is what we do everyday...for over 40 years....How old are the military aircraft used to haul our government around in....bet they are not 40 years old.... -

WWII was a long time ago, that's the last time our military was great....Since then most Canadians and all governments choose to ignore our military and cringe when some one says something like "we need new equipment"....Our military is not good at the moment, ..... it is on the verge of complete rust out, average age of our soldiers is well over 38 years old, with to many liberal chosen soldiers that are either over weight or just wanted a job, ……equipment is well over 15 years old , with some well over 40 years old , .....out dated, over used, rebuilt to many times.... lets not talk about funding for training.....And to top it all off the liberals next purchase are old F-18's ….older than the ones we already have that is good fiscal responsibility right there........ Canadians should be pissed at the state of our military.....liberals got to go, and every General in the service that has political asperations, should be fired and painted with a ball of their own shit...... Spending is increasing, the liberals have promised the moon late next election, promises will not fix our military....military contracts for top quality equipment will something that seems to be beyond our capability........But they have not kept very many promises , except pot , we got lots of pot pretty soon.... -
Justin Trudeau the Worst PM Since Pierre Trudeau?
Army Guy replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There is a lot more to it than what I've describe in a few paras, there are hundreds of cases before the courts today, about soldiers suing our government over issues relating to treatment, pensions, medical payments or coverage, etc..... One comes to mind is a retired major living in Ottawa, that lost both legs in Afghanistan due to an IED, every year our government makes him prove that his legs have not somehow re appeared....before they will send him his medical disability check . Every year they cut off his checks and it takes months to get them reinstated....he has taken this to the media every year since his accident and still he has to prove to VAC that his legs will not grow back.... I am a conservative, but trust me when I say there has not been a government that has stood behind our troops with any conviction to their promises they make in regards to our military...the Cons have provided more equipment recently, but they have also pulled back the most funding, and slashed benefits to the bone....the liberals promised the moon, to correct all of the cons doings....to no avail, like Justin said we are asking for more than they can provide....but hey we got us a slightly used pipeline now... -

That's horse shit, anyone that does security for a living will tell you to be able to see a face is a must...... to a) compare it to ID, or to read the face to see if it is nervous or the person is lying about something or small tell tale facial expressions one need to see the entire face.....However todays leftists have made it so difficult to do this it is actually funny…. Much like getting a PAL or firearms certificate , all that a muslim women is required to do is show up with a face covering get a photo done and poof she can now purchase a fire arm, now how in the blazing blue balls is the guy behind the counter of any fire arm store able to tell that this one PAL is not being misused by another veiled women.....It scares me, anyone can do this....not just Muslim women but anyone....How secure is that..... How many terrorist attacks in Quebec where they have been pushing this type of law for years...wait a minute one a white guy walks into a mosque and shoots Muslims….whoops...WTF but you just said it puts people at more risk....i'm confused …..as you said show me the evidence that states other wise that we are at more risk banning an item that stands for hatred, oppression of women, Why don't we ask immigrants right at the point of the interview....these are items that Canadians find offensive, would you consider not doing them....things like treating women as processions, making them wear a burka, or head scarf, gentile mutilation, arranged marriages, marriages to under aged children.....the list goes on....and when they reply with answers what would be wrong with "after careful consideration we have declined your request for the following reason, perhaps you would find another country a better fit....to Racist , did I cross some liberal line , was it insulting, what is wrong with it...The answer to the question is a choose, nobody is forcing them to immigrate here, that's a choice, it is also a choice we make to outline what is acceptable here and what is not....those that do not agree have made a choice not to conform or adapt Again it is not about wearing an item, it is what it stands for in this country.....it stands for oppression , it stands for minimizing basic human rights, it stands for hatred and a lot of other things...you say you for not forcing them to wear these things, and yet their very religion forces them, their very culture forces them, their men force them, -
I am the New Minister of Immigration!
Army Guy replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There is no agreed view on the net impact of immigration in current times. Historically, Canada's unusually high immigration rates can be traced to the nation's unique economy. One factor is that Canada has one of the world's largest supplies of natural resources such as oil, metals, and lumber. It also has a sparse population spread over a vast landscape. Another factor that contributes to the immigration question is Canada's low birth rate (see List of countries by birth rate). The theory is that new residents can assist in meeting future government obligations relating to pay-as-you-go liabilities. The economic dangers of population decline are not universally accepted. Organizations like the Fraser Institute question whether a declining population would reduce or increase per capita income, noting that in the short term, with a stable economy, fewer people would increase the per capita income simply because you divide the income among fewer people. The study's authors conducted a series of studies using large amounts of census data (844,476 individuals) and conclude that immigrants who arrived from 1987–2004 paid only 57% of the taxes paid by average Canadian in 2006, with the effect that taxes from immigrants do not exceed the government expenses relating to them (a gap of $23 billion annually according to their numbers). A study by the C. D. Howe Institute suggests that immigration cannot keep Canada's population young and could possibly contribute to population ageing in the near term.[12] Employment statistics also bring into question whether skilled worker immigrants, with a 34% unemployment rate,[13] are successfully meeting existing labour market needs in Canada. Many developed nations have much lower fertility rates than Canada but have not embraced immigration. he first detailed analysis of Canadian immigration policy came from the Economic Council of Canada; it called for immigration to be increased to eventually bring Canada's population to 100 million. While it found that the economic benefits to Canada of immigration were fairly small, noting that "a historical perspective gives little or no support to the view that immigration is needed for national prosperity", it also concluded that the benefits to the newcomers themselves were extremely large. The report concluded that "it would be hard not to recommend an increase when immigrants can gain so much and Canadians not only do not lose but actually make slight economic gains What would I do as PM of Canada fire all those thinking immigration is the answer to all our problems, perhaps address our employment shortfalls through education, either subsidizing a Canadian students education or offering free education ,which could be paid back by serving time in some national program, one year service for every year of education.... IE the medical fields could see doctors, nurses , all medical field jobs serve all across the nation like our our military or RCMP do, where they would serve is up to the government . where ever needed the most....send home all our foreign medical students, replace them with Canadians. Same goes for other jobs or careers, start pumping out educated Canadians , promote those positions that are in need, other nations already have this type of program and provide free education to all who qualifiy.. Start offering Canadians incentives to having more kids....such as free day care, or large cash incentives , I mean it does cost the federal government 23 bil a year for immigration, that's a lot of incentives....or perhaps put a huge tax on contraceptive's, instead of carbon tax we could call it " the make Canada great again tax" Maybe we could also look into our welfare systems and put some of these folks back to work as well , through up grading education or moving them to where the jobs are. give them every opportunity to get real paying jobs, and for those that refuse, give them a pink slip, sorry we tried your on your own....we have some guy from Haiti that would die for a job, here's your plane ticket to Haiti, good luck.... -

There are no laws that state a Muslim women must show their faces to be provided a service, at any federal branch office, for instance getting a PAL or firearms certificate , a Muslim women can obtain one, without once showing her face or providing a photo without a face covering, same goers with purchasing a firearm, with a pal photo of a face covering, ya I had to goggle that shit as well ...........So if the federal office can not force a Muslim women to unmask, how far do you think a bank will get be refusing to service her....the security issue has been busted, same as the motorcycle helmet ruling in BC, Sikhs are no long required to wear a helmet , because of religious reasons...the safety reasons are now trumped by religion.... It is not about disliking an item of clothing....it is about what it represents, "oppression of women" in most 3 rd world countries, and countries where the Muslim faith is dominant , just like female gentile mutilation is against the law in Canada regardless if it is tradition in other countries....or are we only allowed to have a limited number of things we think are oppressive in Canada. or am I being racist once again.... -

Justin Trudeau the Worst PM Since Pierre Trudeau?
Army Guy replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You won't have to worry about making 6 figures in the military, unless of course your a General, The military pension is actually pretty good when compared with average salaries' in say the Atlantic provinces, depending on what rank you have achieved, and how long you served....the higher the rank the more pension you get, the average corporal makes approx. 60 k, If he makes it to 20 years is pension will be based on 50% of his wages, or 30 k gross, after taxes it becomes a lot less...I say "make it" that far because most do not, military life is not for ever one, there is plenty of injuries, mental stresses that push a lot of young soldiers out of the military, those soldiers with less than 12 years get return of contributions....what they paid into pension they will receive a lump sum....not sure on the size of the sum is, but it is not much. but that is not what the problem is ,the pay and pension is fair, when compared to other civilian jobs....pension amounts are based on time served : 20 years =50 % , 25 years =60% 30 years =70 and 35 years = 75% of wage. soldiers must retire at age 55, unless your job is deemed critical then age 60 is the max.... Try and keep up with an 18 year old running when your 55 years of age....not many accomplish it....when you compare them to the total intake of military personal. Where they are not treated fairly is when you get injured, the military does not have workman's comp, you get hurt and it is career ending your only recourse is to apply to Dept of VAC, a civilian panel of various professional will deem the merits of your case, Note most of these people have no idea what a soldier does everyday, on or off the battle field...So it is up to the member and his council, a lawyer to convince this group of civilians hire by vac for this one case to determine your case merits and how much they will award the soldier in regards to pay out....with a max payout of 360 k , "however that payout is very rare"...Now this might sound like a lot, but remember your injuries are career ending , which means you are most likely non employable in civey street. 360 k needs to last a life time, unless your condition gets worse then you can be re assessed and get another payout, much much smaller of course.... Under the system the cons squashed , a soldier was given a monthly check for life.....normally with a career ending injury it could be 12 to 1400.00, per major injury, ya your not going to get rich off it ….there are other benefits you may be entitled to such as snow removal, or grass cutting, free prosthetics, wheel chairs, and your entitled to stay in a vets hospital once your ready for it.... the Cons seen a win fall of savings by giving a once in a life time payout....it would save bils, every year…. Yes the liberals have put bils back into soldiers hands....by bringing back the life time payment, but is is still based on the 360 K that is the max payout....they lied to vets now only receiving maybe 4 to 500 a month for life, per major injury.....yes they have added other benefits as well, but the vets do not want those benefits, they want the old system of medical pension back.... Not to mention long waiting times to see medical specialists, or mental health professionals, for instant a soldier who has already attempted suicide will get jumped to the front of the waiting que....they will have an initial appointment normally a couple of hours with a mental health professional, then might wait 6 to 8 months for follow up appointments....same with physical injuries, I might be years before they deem to send you so a specialist for treatment.... Soldiers would just like to be treated as the rest of Canadians are when injured..... -

Fair enough Michael, I did not articulate my point very well, I thought that this has been beaten to death already. I not sure where you stand on this topic, I assume you agree with the Immigration is the end all be all , that it creates more benefits than it costs.....Yes it does create some benefits....and yet plenty of info has already been posted that suggests that it does not come close to covering the overall costs of immigration in this country.....one has to be careful when talking about immigration and if your against it your a racist....because those that are in power are convinced immigration is the key....any talk of limiting it is racist or some foreign right wing idea..... The problem is that our native population is not having enough kids...this is not the first time this country has faced this problem....what if we spent that 20 bil on our native Canadian population, convincing them that having more than 1 or 2 children can be done. One solution would be increase family allowance, well over 20 bil goes a long way, another would be free day care, in some cases families are putting out 40 to 50 % of their income on daycare.....there is a shit tone of ideas that could put this money back into Canadian pockets, increasing our population to where it makes a difference, and still providing the economical benefit as immigrants.... We have been immigrating people for along time and yet some how we can not import enough to make a difference....it is one big circle.... -

I agree 100 % that the whole process is a two way street, my question is have the liberals even asked to put in things we think are unfair, such as soft wood lumber. or are we stuck with all this feminist stuff that is not even trade related. -

I think there are more options out there to immigration question, I mean how much do we spend on immigration every year, the last figures I have are well over 20 bil.... I also have issues with current immigration policies, being able to buy a citizenship for one, just being born here qualifies you for citizenship regardless of what nationality you are. , then there is the citizenship of convenience such what was observed in the evac of Canadian citizens in Lebanon years ago, when the Canadian forces had to rent ships to evac over 50,000 Canadians living in Lebanon, citizens that owned a CDN passport but have lived in foreign nations for more than 5 years without paying taxes. there is a lot more.... -
Should Canada explore an amicable separation from Quebec?
Army Guy replied to Machjo's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm pretty sure that is not how it was going to work out, at least that is not what happened last time....Quebec made a lot of demands during and upto the vote, The Canadian government did respond to some in the media, but i can't find a source that said our government / and future Quebec government sat down to hammer out any details before hand....What is clear so far is that once Quebec won the separation vote there would be no going back , unless the future Quebec government had another vote to join once again Canada....So now what you have is a sovereign country with no ties or agreements with Canada ....kind of like putting the cart before the horse sort of thing.... And like last time , the federal government had responded to some of Quebecs demands though the media, one was the st Lawrence sea way, Canada demanded the land corridor or southern half of Quebec basically south of the river would become a sovereign part of Canada, to allow trade and commence to flow from both half of the nation. they (Canadian government )also declined their (Quebecs)demand for 1/3 of the army and equipment , 1/2 the airforce, and 1/3 of the navy.... Like i said i can not find a source that confirms any official talks before the vote to discuss terms.....what is confirmed is that our government taking action to move Canadian military assets within Quebec into the states to protect them from being seized or used against Canada. Plus the fact a lot of Canadian military units were told no leave and on low level alert until after the vote....I don't think Quebec had really thought it out well.... -
Should Canada explore an amicable separation from Quebec?
Army Guy replied to Machjo's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Quebec would be years trying to get into NATO, and so broke how would they ever afford a military force of any good size....Would we be friendly....what if we could not come up with an amicable split...if the past government thought it a good idea to move all military forces out of Quebec before the vote , is that a good indicator of trust or friendship.... Whats the point of splitting the nation if we are going to have a common citizenship....Why would that be any benefit to Canada. -
Should Canada explore an amicable separation from Quebec?
Army Guy replied to Machjo's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The last time that separation was even taken serious, the province of Quebec would look drastically different than it does today, basically split along the St lawrence river with the southern portion belonging to NB, Canada , providing a corridor through the province for goods and services to travel. Also the northern portion of Quebec would also shrink due to Native lands and access to them, that and fact these portions were given to Quebec for ease of administration. To think that Canada would just hand over Quebec as it's current borders are laid out is crazy talk and not beneficial to Canada at all, Quebec made some very crazy demands according to them that Canada would just roll over and kiss their ass....the last vote we had to separate the government took very seriously, All F-18 within Quebec were flown to the US for exercise then impounded by the US , acting upon a Canadian request, also most of the 5 th CMBG was sent to NY state on exercise, and quarantined there...leaving Quebec without any military assets they proclaimed as theirs....they wanted 1/3 of the army, 1/2 of the airforce, and 1/3 of the navy.....2 CMBG had all leave canceled and placed on low level alert in case it needed to respond to Quebec closing the borders , as they said they would do....if they did not get their way...and while all this never amounted to anything due to the separation vote never producing the results it needed....Quebec was going to learn that it would not get its way, and that the Canadian government was willing to use force to ensure trade flowed across all of Canada , with out being held hostage by Quebec. I'm sure a lot of talking would have to be done before any borders would be finalized. -
WOW, are any of those items on the liberal platform, did any of them get any attention by the liberal government ….the only thing that seems to be important to Most Canadians is making pot legal.....and that's the only thing the liberals put any effort into.....

Wilber I get it your passionate about dairy , judging by your posts, protecting our SM cost consumers 1.6 bil each year, it does not allow our dairy industry to grow, milk will flow both ways across the border...it will also allow those dairy farms not covered under SM to find a place to sell their product as well, it will become cheaper for dairy farmers as they won't have to pay for quotas..... And lets be honest our economy has always been about cheap stuff, the cheaper the better, if it was not why is most of our manufacturing gone to Asia or other 3 rd world countries, where slave labor and grossly under paid workers produce all of our luxuries....want to survive in the business you have to be competitive....why should dairy be any different it might not be as cheap, but they will have to be competitive as well , and with no sm to set prices they will fall. because the Canadian consumer is not going to be paying for inflated US prices.... The government ... -

Army Guy replied to Thinkinoutsidethebox's topic in Canada / United States Relations
There looking to Canada to find a larger market for their dairy, and because Canadian consumers pay out of their pocket for higher priced dairy products, look at the numbers a large portion of diary farmers are not even part of SM, locked out due high prices for the quota itself paid to each province as a tax of sort....much like the fishing industry want a larger quota pay more money....so the small guy is screwed right out of the gate....hardly fair Yes US dairy farmers are losing their farms, seen a news bit yesterday about NY state farms being a dying breed....Milk should be treated like any other product, where free enterprise rules, the company that can sell products to the consumer the cheapest rules.... Why is it always the consumer that has to keep private companies or farms afloat, I thought we had a free market, where supply and demand dictate price, and not set it artificially by some board...why do we not do this for all our products....
