So if the CPC win this election I will see my taxes drop by thousands and thousands of dollars and the GST will be repealed? -
The CPC has no need to dirty their hands..

I'd add that IMT, as he is attacked by some here, adds a hell of a lot more to this forumn than some of those calling for his ouster . Pretty funny actually. -
House Democrats Embarassed
Shakeyhands replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
CNN They like to talk the talk, but when it comes to actually voting the way they supposedly feel, they fold like a house of cards. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why am I not surprised that the Right have again twisted facts? -
an admission that the ancestors were treated not as they should have been by other ancestors... done.

at the end of the day it doesn't matter who authorized those flights... Bush is on the nut anyway you look at it. Also, any movement of aircraft would have to be approved at the highest levels of govenrment.. again, Bush's turf.... I'm more willing, to be truthful, to believe Moore whom I think genuinly loves his country before I believe the spinmeisters of Corporate America anyhow... -
US confirms, used incendiary bombs in Fallujah
Shakeyhands replied to GostHacked's topic in The Rest of the World
Lobbing mortar rounds designed to sear the flesh from people's bones into a heavily populated area is about as indiscriminate as it gets. Strawmen and victim-blaming aside, how does the morally repugnant act of suicide bombing relate to the morally repugnant act of killing civilians? Argus would say the difference is one of intent. That may be, but the intent here was pretty clear: to kill anything still in the city, insurgent or otherwise. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> have you ever seen white phosophorus before? Or more to the point of what it is, or what it can do? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/tfacts103.html **EDIT - sorry, posted before your response to BD. Informative none the less. -

No need to have to remember BD, I am sure that if things change we'll be right there beside them. -

speaking of losing moral authority.... It amazes me that the likes of Frist are more concerned with the fact something like torture and secret prisons is leaked as opposed to dealing with the torture and secret prisons.. God help the US now... -

Opposition Agrrement on Election
Shakeyhands replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think those that are talking about replacing Martin should seriously look at the party that they support. There is no way the population is willing to hand the reins to Harper. Won't happen. Maybe McKay, definately Stronach but too late for that. And as far as the rest goes, Mr Martin is the PM now, his party is governing this country. If the opposition wants to pull this government down on a non confidence vote, that is their right. I've yet to see a reason as to why Martin should follow along with this 'compromise' -
Martin says "NO" To Jocko's request
Shakeyhands replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
geeez.. you guys can almost taste it eh.. No way will Harper win, no way. Best case scenario for the CPC is a Liberal Minority. Dollar to a doughnut is Harper is gone after he loses this one. Sorry. -

Shakeyhands replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
An election would be the worst thing to ever happen to Mr Layton... or is it? Most likely outcome is another minority Liberal government for him to get his ideas passed into reality... Only loser here is us, having to pay for another election.... oh and Harper too. -

Do you think Robertson does his cause more harm than good? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pat Robertson and his ilk prey on those so dazzled with with fear of the afterlife (?) that they are incapable of thinking for themselves. It never ceases to amaze me that people actually donate millions and millions of dollars to this guy. It really is pretty amazing. He is a schyster in the tradition of PT Barnum. -

So what? He's the left's God. That's why it's so relevant. He was at the Democratic National Convention last fall. He is the God of the left and especially the kook-left. And now, we find out, as if we didn't already know, that he's a lying, hypocrital sack of crap. Becareful not to worship false god's. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lying about what now? -
I would have thought it was showboating and nothing else, afterall, we were promised a general election within 30 days of the final release of Gomery, it fits the same timeframe. I will say though I agree with August that it is symbolic, having others set the agenda does not either look good or feel good.

Ontario's Liberals; stupid or crooked?
Shakeyhands replied to Argus's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
how can you possibly think that that is a bad idea? Perhaps that one family only saved that much in one month, but its more about education. I think they are a great idea and a steal at $500. Good for McGuinty! If you look at it from your angle, it sounds more like something a party that only cares about big business would do.... hmmmmm -
Its all very Mod isn't it....
