  1. Supose Michael DOESN'T win the "Beautiful Minds" competition .... who else is waiting in the wings?
  2. Whoever thought out the best & timeliest treatment for her malady is the one I'm cheering for.
  3. I've seen these explainations. But they generaly come only from painfully-shy guys, the ones who simply don't have the nerve to ask a woman out on a date, let alone talk to Her.
  4. Well, here in Vancouver, most young men can only afford to buy and live in a tiny 400 sqare foot one bedroom place ... and THEIR main reason why they'd rather be a foot shorter is because they figure that that way the apartment would be much easier to maneuver.
  5. You stupid ignoramus idiot! He IS IN !!! Now go and vote! Thanks!
  6. Pull what off? If either side "pulls off" a minority government, both, Martin's & Harper's heads will be on the chopping block. What's next? Wait for the results of the 'Beautiful Minds" competition, hoping that Mr. Manning and Mr. Ignatieff end up in a dead heat and then duke it out as to who will lead? Only in our dreams.
  7. That is a toughie. I Read a lot, but mostly about military history/politics. Gwynne Dyer is a smart man, but a pundit. I always enjoy reading his stuff, though, his analysis and acumen are sharp as a tack. Margaret Atwood is one of Canada's greatest writers. Edgar Bronfman Sr., an astute and philanthropic ( in his own way) business owner. I think that this forum is marvelous. If there was a 'contributor of the year' award, I'd have to go with 'Greg the Administrator'. I have seen several other forums be ruined or cancelled due to flood posting, extreme racism, and general disrespect for others. Greg does a bang-up job moderating this forum, so no matter where you stand, 'intolerance' is not a part of the equation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Worried about geting banned too, eh? I understand.
  8. I don't think the French have a bloody idea what to do. They know what they SHOULD do, which is hose down the bloody holligans & pitch them all in jail. But this would put lie to their claims of tolerance. And the Globe finally put the French riots on the front page yesterday. But of course they used the occasion to tell us how wonderful & multicultural Canada is & how the rioters are just poor French kids looking for a break. Doug Saunders even had the gall to go on about how "the 60% of French citizens who live extremely well are realizing that their system is built on the shoulders of the deeply underprivileged" Hello?? How does one profit from a group of people who never work & live off the state? Lefties are starting to lose braincells faster & faster every year.
  9. I can well imagine why Melanie was holding off, hoping that David Suzuki would draw in. She probably has certain erotic feelings ever since she got hold of that picture of him covered with nothing but a skimpy fig leaf. Take away the leaf and I bet she'd be mightily disappointed. He's Japanese, you know. But you, Argus, I didn't picture you treating this competition so lightly and to think only of your pleasures ... in your case the pleasure of laughter. I was sure that you would be the one to cheer for a 'beautiful mind' that can do the most good for Canada. I was not sure whether you'd pick from the 23 chosen ones or whether you'd write in your own candidate like Melanie did, but I was pretty damn sure that Michael Ignatieff had to be at or near the top of your picks. That's who I would have voted for had I decided to vote with my head instead of my heart. A dead heat between these two 'beautiful minds' would be the ideal outcome, but I'll settle for either one.
  10. Because 'Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la, la la la la. ...
  11. The voting site is open now. http://www.canada.com/national/nationalpos...tuals/vote.html I've already cast my vote. I voted for Preston Manning. He sure as hell desrves it. If you already have a favorite, that's fine. But if you don't, I would greatly appreciate if you voted the same way that I did. Thank you, and God bless! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm so sorry, I had the URL a little screwed up and it wasn't working. But I fiddled with it a bit and it is working now. Sorry for the inconvenience. 13. Did you read your Andrew Coyne today? http://www.canada.com/national/nationalpos...68-a05406e0fd76 Very, very, VERY interesting stuff.
  14. Do you think he can beat Don Cherry ??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, the Racing Form that I've just purchased has Charles Krauthammer and Irshad Manji at even money, Mark Steyn third at 3 to 1 odds, and Preston Manning next at odds of 4 to 1. Your Don Cherry is in the 20th spot at 192 to 1, and Theloniusfleabag's Margaret Atwood is, as I figured, dead last. She's 199 to 1. Looking at my today's National Post they've got them in precisely the same order, minus the odds. They don't want it to look too much like a horse race, I figure. Good luck! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And just to show you that when I said "Good luck!" I meant it, let me point out what post Preston Manning drew. http://www.canada.com/national/nationalpos...tuals/vote.html Yup, post number one. With the speed that that man brought out the Reform party I KNOW he'll be hard to catch. That's who I'm going to bet! So again .... GOOD LUCK ! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And in case you're wondering how it could be that two 'beautiful minds' were profiled on Nov. 11 ... they were not. Preston was profiled the day before. My guess as to how this happened is that whoever is responsible made this mistake on purpose, probably because they worry that some people may remember you more and thus vote for you more if you were profiled on Remembrance Day. Guess who THEY'LL be voting for? Good luck! http://www.canada.com/national/nationalpos...uals/index.html "Candidate profiles » Naomi Klein, profiled by cartoonist Gary Clement, Nov. 11 » Preston Manning, profiled by Lorne Gunter, Nov. 11" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And who is responsible for Naomi Klein getting only six mocking cartoon frames and not a peep in her profile? Guess who her profilist, Gary Clement, is voting for? Good luck!
