Why Do You Hate Justin Trudeau?

The photo above reminds me of Bob Stanfield visiting a Toronto Argonaut practice during an election campaign. They threw him 13 passes. He caught twelve. Guess which one appeared in Time Magazine? -

Why can't Canada destroy the US?
Queenmandy85 replied to John Otis's topic in Canada / United States Relations
This has to be the dumbest topic on this forum. The US is the first world power to help poorer nations because it is the right thing to do. Look at the way the USSR treated East Germany as compared to the way the US treated West Germany and Japan. If not for the US, we would all be living under the domination of Russia and China. How many refugees has Russia taken in. -
Why Do You Hate Justin Trudeau?
Queenmandy85 replied to Robert Greene's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
As disappointed as I am in our political leaders, I'll take all five of them over any others in the world with the exception of Prime Minister Ardern of New Zealand. -
Don't worry Taxme. The recognition that who you fall in love with is none of anyone's business aligns with your view that government should not interfere in our lives.

Why can't Canada destroy the US?
Queenmandy85 replied to John Otis's topic in Canada / United States Relations
We could destroy the US, but we just don't feel like it. For all the anti American rhetoric above, they are pretty nice people, just like most people in the world. Evil knows no nationality. Virtue is international. -
Why Do You Hate Justin Trudeau?

I have to wonder where this "drama teacher" myth originated. He was primarily a math teacher. Also, was he a snowboard instructor or a ski instructor? Skiing is the highest level of human endeavour, thus you are elevating him far above any position like PM. -
Alberta and Canada Election 2019
Queenmandy85 replied to Ell's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
UPC will win handily but it won't change anything. The pipeline will get built in a few years if BC decides to accept it, oil prices will remain low until the Saudis raise them, God will continue to have influence as long as Islam continues to grow. All in all there is nothing Mr. Kenny can do to change the Alberta economy unless he grows a spine and starts transitioning to nuclear power. Alberta is rich in thorium. -
Why Do You Hate Justin Trudeau?
Queenmandy85 replied to Robert Greene's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There is no excuse to hate anyone. I am disappointed by the Prime Minister, and I won't vote for him again, but I don't hate him. I hate certain ideologies such as communism, or national socialism, but I don't hate communists. I've never met a Nazi so I can't say. I don't like certain ideologies such as Social-Credit (Reform) and republicanism, but I don't hate them. Prime Minister Trudeau revealed himself to be all show and no substance. My disillusion came as a result of the SNC affair which led me to take a critical look at everything else he does. My impression is they (the PM and the PMO) make decisions without thinking them through. I hate to admit it but he is just not ready. -
How Does Canada Get Out of Debt?
Queenmandy85 replied to Robert Greene's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What other radio network is commercial free, and provides programming such as Ideas, As It Happens, Quirks and Quarks, and the Current. On TV, there is the National, the Nature of Things, Power and Politics, Coronation Street, Sunday Scrum, Frankie Drake, and Murdoch Mysteries. Much of the programming on Global and CTV is American product. Private radio is one minute of programming interspersed with five minutes of commercials.I can't think of a single program on private radio that has any glimmer of intellect. -
How Does Canada Get Out of Debt?
Queenmandy85 replied to Robert Greene's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The reality of governing is everyone has their hand out. I ran for the Conservative nomination in my riding years ago and everyone I spoke to wanted to know how much money I was going to bring in to the riding. The only way to get rid of the deficit is to raise taxes. The electorate will not allow the government to reduce spending. In the "hot tub" election where the Devine Conservative government took on Roy Romanow's NDP in a reckless campaign bidding war, the Liberal Leader said these guys are lying to you if they are promising to give you $1500 for home renovations and cut your taxes at the same time. (Saskatchewan had record level deficits under the Tories) Liberal Leader Ralph Goodale said he would cut spending and raise taxes. He ran an honest campaign and only won his own seat. The only way to get elected is to keep running higher and higher deficits. I blame the voters like the caller on radio who said the problem with the government was they don't fix the roads and taxes are too high. -

Conservatives Silent on Homosexuality
Queenmandy85 replied to Robert Greene's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
My point is that, except for a few very observant Orthodox Jews, nobody follows the rules set down by Leviticus. Why do some people quote him regarding homosexuality but ignore him when it comes to all the weird stuff regarding diet, clothing and women's monthly cycles? Do you seriously believe God cares if you eat bacon or shrimp? Do you think God is concerned if you mix fibres? According to Leviticus, that is as bad as being gay. There are several stars out there about to go super nova and destroy hundreds of solar systems and any potential life in that region. That is probably what God is concerned with, not who your uncle or daughter falls in love with. As for the need for procreation, we have four times the number of human beings this planet can sustain in the long term. We don't need more kids. -
Conservatives Silent on Homosexuality
Queenmandy85 replied to Robert Greene's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
No, it makes Leviticus a bigot. Actually, he was neurotic if not psychotic. Before I retired, I was a Peace Officer. For 25 years, the uniform I wore was an abomination before the Lord. I occasionally ate bacon and eggs for breakfast. I had to work on the Sabbath, a crime punishable by death according to Leviticus. I am sure that occasionally, when two men lie down together, one or both might be stoned. I am sure that occasionally, when a man lies down with a woman, one or both might be stoned. -
Canada needs more nuclear power plants
Queenmandy85 replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes. Why would you say I wouldn't? My only condition would be embed it in leaded glass blocks, give me a backyard large enough (a small acreage near Saskatoon) and pay my expenses and $100K / year. -
Liberals spend more fighting lawsuit than lawsuit asked

The stiffing the vets policy goes back to the Great War. I have never understood why governments of all stripes in this country try to ease their financial problems on the backs of the people who fought for us. -
Diefenbaker = Trudeau Jnr: Bomarc
Queenmandy85 replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The difference Deifenbaker is that he stood on principle. He refused to let Kennedy dictate Canadian foreign policy and stood up for keeping American nuclear weapons out of Canada. As a result, the American CIA interfered in the 1963 election to get their boy, Pearson into power. Trudeau Jr. is standing on a cynical ploy to get votes. You are right about one thing; principled Conservatives were die hard Diefenbaker loyalists and we still are. -

I am wondering why you find it necessary to mention Minister O'Regan's health. If he had cancer in remission, would you have said "Trudeau's good friend and cancer survivor? Or if he was diabetic, would you have felt it necessary to mention that? Or bi-polar? Parkinson's? -
American democracy and its double standards
Queenmandy85 replied to imnotyou's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This is not an American problem. Racism and hypocrisy are found all over the world. The difference is, the Americans recognize racism as wrong and are trying to resolve it. It is a condition that has existed as long as humanity, so don't expect it to be solved over night.- 76 replies

Canada needs more nuclear power plants
Queenmandy85 replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
More people die in motor vehicle accidents in Saskatchewan in one year than have died in the entire history of nuclear power plants. The first nuclear accident occurred at Chalk River in the 1950's. A volunteer, a nuclear engineer from the US Navy, went in to shut it down. Nobody knew if he would survive. He is currently 94 years old, still works as a preacher, and is a former governor of Georgia..., oh and he was a President of the United States. The only person who died at Fukushima died of a heart attack. Children who were born in Hiroshima after the war were statistically healthier than their peers in other parts of Japan. The only plant to "blow up" was Chernobyl. It was badly built and operated by untrained staff. We won't be doing that again. Nuclear waste takes up little room. Storing it isn't a problem. -
Regulatory logjam has cost Canada $100 billion
Queenmandy85 replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Oil and coal should not be viewed as fuel. They are the basis for over 10,000 products. You cannot make steel without coke. You cannot operate machinery without oil for lubrication. ie., you cannot build a nuclear power plant without steel and lubrication. The world does not stop when you die. We have an obligation to our descendants. We seem to be fixated that the only jobs in Canada are in the extraction of resources. If you can't get a job where you are, go find another job in another industry. There is a lot more money to be made in the financial sector, computer science and engineering. That is why we go to school. Become a "bankster". Design new and better nuclear reactors for export and domestic use.
