  1. I just heard this morning that Godess had been murdered. I was told you know the details. This is terrible news. Can you tell me what happened? The last I heard was her former husband had passed away and she was taken time away from the forum.

    Thanks,

    Pete

No, I don't even know Goddess, let alone anyone in her family who would have my contact info.

      Where's the post by eyeball?

I've seen and read it  but I can't find it now.  He said to ask you for details.

I guess we can consider that post as a disinformation.

Hopefully Goddess will see this confusion and set the matter straight.

According to her last post, she took a break from the forum after her ex-husband who she was in good terms with had a heart attack. That was back in Sept 2023.

@Queenmandy85,  can you please give the link to Eyeball's post.

      ****disregard please.  Found it.

      Thanks.

  3. Just to provide some context, I predicted Turner would beat Mulroney, Secretary Clinton would beat Trump, Trump would beat Biden and I am predicting Trump will win in 2024 and Poilievre will win in 2025. See where I am going with this?

    Take care,

    Pete

No I don't see where you are going with this.  But perhaps you could explain why you think Trump will win in 2024?

People underestimate his marketing ability. He is a campaign savant. I am willing to bet former President Trump will win the 2024 election. (However, I am unable to wager $. My Church forbids gambling. UCC)

Then perhaps he should have won 2020, by that reasoning.  But something stopped him in 2020, and i think that same force would prevent him in 2024.
Some new unexpected movement will have to happen for Trump to beat the courts, the media, his political enemies and win an election in 2024.

  4. "Eg, our government’s stance that Alberta oil needs to stay in the ground, and we can’t build a pipeline eastwards, and we will import everything we need from Saudi Arabia, ... "

I didn't want to derail the thread so I hope you don't mind me using this to ask my question. I must be missing something. If we continue exporting our oil, what plans should we have in place to ensure future generations have access to our petroleum resourses for the thousands of essential products derived from oil, particularly lubrication, without which you cannot operate any machine? The oil belongs to them as much as it does to the current generation.

LIFTR's won't melt down, are far more effeicient that Uranium reactors, cannot be used for weapons, and much less waste and shorter half life so storage of waste is less of a problem. The fuel, thorium, is more plentiful than uranium. Uranium still is required in the short term until the LIFTR's come on line.

It's a lot better than trying to support 20 billion people with solar panels and windmills.

You clearly know a lot more about it than I do.

There are other molten salt designs, not just liquid fluorine. Just the idea of liquid fluorine makes me a little uncomfortable.

Also I recall that thorium fueled reactors can be used to make weapons-grade plutonium. That is one of the obstacles to implementing the thorium-uranium fuel cycle, where used/ spent uranium fuel rods become the fuel for these, and their waste goes back to being used as the uranium fuel once again. Almost limitless power. But due to the concerns about nuclear proliferation, the technology is suppressed.

  5. ".returning our Nuc wpns to the US did not require any vote, neither did conscription all ideas that were drafted and implemented in Parliament. "

A quick note. Conscription was put to the voters in the 1942 referendum. Conscription if neccessary...etc.
