NDP apologizes for embellishing CV of 'Vegas' MP
RNG replied to RNG's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm right wing, closer to the US model of libertarian. I'm hoping the Canadian Libertarian Party will shed it's wingnuts and approach the US model. But I am definitely not Liberal. And I think, with some intelligent regulations, the free market will always provide a greater good for the greater number. -

I did not apologize. I just pointed out that your golden commies are as corrupt as any of the others. -
Unfortunately, that tends to stand for what they believe will get them the most votes. And it has been so for a long time. The great misfortune is that the Tories have learned well from the liberal success and now do the same thing.

NDP Constitution - An exercise in Marxism

Owning and running Air Canada? -
He's been donating for 27 and a half years? That's loyalty. (By law, $400.00/yr is the maximum you can donate.) (Yes, I know this is relatively recent so he might have done a big one before this law was passed.)

Just one of many google hits for "crime rates in canada". http://www4.hrsdc.gc.ca/[email protected]?iid=57

I call bull on that one. I have tried to search this on google but most things I find require a paid subscription. But many people I admire and respect say you are wrong. So give us a link. And crime stats have been dropping for years, according to the Calgary Herald and the Vancouver Sun. So where's your non-anecdotal data?

I was born in Saskatchewan, lived there quite a while and still have many relatives there. I then lived in Alberta for years. Unfortunately I now have to be in the Greater Vancouver area. And all three of those provinces are different from each other. There are different cultures in each.

NDP Constitution - An exercise in Marxism

A total monopoly. I'm not sure how efficient they are. I do know that the oil industries in Mexico, Venezuela and Russia are a joke. I've worked in all those places. Given the oil reserves Norway has, it would take a Trumpesque type of idiot to blow that. -
Who really isn't "paying their fair share"?

The fallicy of your argument is that you claim $8 a day per kid is cheap. What if a private school could deliver it for $6. See how that works. -
NDP Constitution - An exercise in Marxism

So give me an example of a sucessful socialistic country. Venezuela, Cuba, the former Soviet Union. Economically, China is about as socialistic as the states. The Scandinavian countries are often held up as examples but does the government own Volvo - Saab - Ikea - and on and on. Government ownership of business is a major fail. -

Of course not. But I love the hypocrisy shown by the NDP in this case. Not saying that all of them haven`t done the same time and time again. -
KINGSTON, Ont. — The NDP is apologizing for a biography that stated a rookie MP obtained a diploma from an Ontario college -- when, in fact, she hadn't. The party says a staffer modified the online biography for Ruth Ellen Brosseau without her permission and it regrets the error. Brosseau made national headlines for vacationing in Las Vegas during the election campaign. The NDP released the statement after St. Lawrence College said Brosseau never earned a diploma in advertising and integrated marketing communications from the school -- even though it's included in her NDP biography. A spokesman for the Kingston school says she is not a graduate. The NDP says Brosseau never actually told them she had earned a diploma from the school, and only stated that she had studied there. The party says she is two credits shy from completing the program. The 27-year-old cruised to a stunning election-night victory in the central Quebec seat of Berthier-Maskinonge, even though she never set foot in the riding. The NDP has acknowledged that she must improve her French skills to represent a riding that is 98-per-cent francophone. Brosseau lives in the Ottawa area, some 300 kilometres away from the region. http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/TopStories/20110510/ndp-resume-110510/

Only half the time. We're at 100% on this one.

But that is knowledge of law. He is referring to "justice" in a moral rather than a legal sense. And I agree.

I remember at least three Canadian Government official investigations into why gasoline is "too expensive" and non of them found any evidence of manipulation. It was supply and demand. Obama is currently doing the same in the US as a sop to the electorate and I'd be willing to bet that the same conclusion will be reached by his experts.

I'm not arguing one way or the other in terms of parties. I am arguing that polls and pollsters are POS's.

Libs are supposed to say that to their latest (after Iggy, but he lost) hero? -

Because that's half the fun of being here. Enjoy the lunacy. -
Actually, I used to read and enjoy her columns, as long as she didn't get on one of her anti-Harper or anti-Conservative rants. She did offer up some interesting opinions at times.

And I thought I was a hard right a**hole.

Come on. Wandering into the tribal lands of Taliban dominated Afghanistan and expecting sweetness and light?

Yes.

Well reasoned and well stated. Thank you.

No problem there, and as I said before, violent crime is another subject, and one where capital punishment, if applied properly, would fit.
