Why is 9/11 still a big deal?
ft.niagara replied to anticlimates's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Uh, that's great TokyoTakarazuka. But what does it have to do with the topic? Should I share a good stew recipe with the class now? Mr. anticlimates continues to troll antiamerican crap, comes up with crap topics like 'why is xyz important?', and then has the gall to lecture others on propriety. The strategy is idiotic, and the topics are STUPID. -
Time is not on his (Castro's) side. Because he is dictator for LIFE, the world will get to savor his decline in public. Maybe at 85 he can give one of his three hour rants, standing up. Like with Arafat, in the end, the US will get to PRIVATELY snicker. I wonder what he will do with all his money. He'll probably take it with him.

Canada without a Military?
ft.niagara replied to Army Guy's topic in Canada / United States Relations
'Support your claims' is a broad brush which runs the risk of censorship. Many a vote at election time is cast from 'a feeling' about so and so or such and such. Sometimes these feelings are crafted from personal experience, things read or seen in the media, or from pure thinking things out. I think most of Iknowbest's opinions come from all three. As far as Greg's differentiation between Quebec leaders and people is concerned, what's the difference if the leadership is elected with an overwhelming plurality? -
Canada without a Military?
ft.niagara replied to Army Guy's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I certainly have enjoyed this thread especially IKNOWBEST inputs. I think the thought that Quebecors controlling the Canadian Government is understandable to the extent that any PM of Canada MUST be bilingual which probably leaves out ALOT of Canadians. Further, I think the lack of a Canadian military is understandable given Canada's proximity to the US. What I think the lack of a military doesn't give Canada though is a place at the table of current events. A go with the flow attitude does not go unrecognized by the rest of the world governments or people. -
Canada had a 6 BILLION dollar trade surplus last MONTH with the US. That was equal to the trade defecit the US had with Japan, whose people also have a buy Japan policy. I noticed that you did not address the hypocracy of Canada's honky tonk Niagara Falls, Canada, which by the way is also a 'shared' area. Your user name 'caesar' reminds me of an old know it all who was so well liked that everyone took a shot at poking him.

What I do not understand is a statement like this coming from a Canadian. If there is so much disagreement with the political makeup of the country, where is the opposition party? I get the impression that there is no strong two party system in Canada. Canadian and Russian politics seem pretty similar to me.

I am an American. I disagree with the US lecturing other nations on human rights, and democratic governance, all be it for a good purpose. In the same way I think it presumptuous for any nation to lecture the US on its responsability to act in concert with some hypothetical 'world view'. Usually, upon just a little investigation, the lecturer is nothing more than a hypocrit.

US Missile Shield over Canada
ft.niagara replied to theloniusfleabag's topic in Canada / United States Relations
While saving human lives might be an ideal, places like Somalia and Indonesia have shown that not everyone wants the help. And lets face it, there is a racial over lay to Rawanda. These people are expendable in the world's eye. -
Everything from building a home, to driving a car, to building a steel mill, or an auto plant has an environmental impact. It is hypocracy when Canadians desecrate the beauty of Niagara Falls with honky tonk hotels, change the weather patterns around the falls, and then bitch about development at the Artic Circle. What else is new?

My Gosh is that anticlimates funny. And heck, that name anticlimates is even funnier. Why not chose something really catchy like 'NuclearWinter'. The fact that you joined in late (23) January, and already have 83 posts, all antiBush, speaks volumes. Why not just stick with signcarrying, too cold out?

Buddy, face it. You are a semipro flame thrower. You troll not only this board, but you admit to trolling others. You come up with idiotic topics like this one, just so you can troll some more. Your intention is not discussion, but akin to civil disobedience on the street. You are hooked. You love the attention. Your purpose in life is not positive. You are a phony. A blow hard, Buddy. Doing a favor? Fat chance. Actually, the more I read (I only started at maybe the tenth page) the funnier you get.

Of course you don't have to do anything, let alone address anything I say. I am merely here defending my country against harsh attacks by a Canadian (anticlimates) who trolls this board and other boards with antiUnited States administration rhetoric. Forum Protocol should not protect a flame artist from receiving in kind what he dispenses.

This is the attitude of liberal Canadians. This is why Fox News will be good for you eurika. You and anticlimates need an attitude readjustment. You are perplexed when everyone does not agree with you. You are puzzled when you are unable to control the arguement. Fox News will help change the political landscape for the better. Heaven knows that it is long over due. Change will happen because the compelling logic for it is inescapable. Don't fight it, just let it happen.

The way you worded this, ie "Canadians", rather than "Canada" shows you are speaking of the Canadian people, not Canada's government or policies. I'm wondering what you base this enlightened bit of trivial on???? It comes from simple observation. The majority of the people elect a government. Canada has a secure socialist antiAmerican government. The whole English speaking world supported the US in Iraq, EXCEPT Canada. In Afghanistan Canada did participate and while there experienced an unfortunate accident. Why was there an accident? Was there an accident because the soldiers were shooting at the enemy, no, they were shooting at TARGETS at night. While I realize that not all Canadians are cowards, my impression is the Canadian military is inept, and almost nonexistant. The government is probably afraid to deploy them. Further, my impression is some of this holier than thou BS expressed on this board is based more on fear than on responsable action.

I agree, Stoker seems to be doing a good job defending GWB. I think that anticlimates seems to make it his job to 'troll' the internet with his antiBush sentiment. I guess there is thread after thread of it from Mr. anticlimates. The only additonal comment I would have is many times there is some reason or logic to a username. Many times they are not apparent to anyone but the user. With 'anticlimates' I have no clue. Perhaps he is against climate change?

Did it ever occur to you that Bush is not stupid. He knows the Iranians are not good for their word. He does not want to attack Iran, but if they get the bomb, he can wash his hands and sleep tight because it is Europe's impotance, and Russian colaboration. One advantage the US does have from the nut cases in the Middle East is distance. Except for the delivery by a freighter, or through Canada perhaps, Europe is more at risk than the US. Anything is possible, but i would expect a bomb blast in Rome or Paris MORE likely than in NYC. The US can say "we had out assurances". The Bush administration has positioned the US well. Iraq is in the heart of the middle east. The US will not be leaving there soon. Oh, and don't dismiss the possibility of an accident happening to the Iranian reactor.

What happened to the influx of Sore Losers?
ft.niagara replied to I miss Reagan's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I have two toy french poodles, one is Harry and the other Daisey. Both have been neutered. Now I know what to call Harry when he is bad: 'fifi'. -
Why indeed! This thread was started back in September. It seems to be the longest running active thread. Fox News IS the most influential news service in the US, bar none. Obviously, people can not tune in. What's the problem? CNN has really two channels. Obvious solution, remove one of CNN's channels: Headline News. To be truly informed about what your neighbor to the south is thinking, an enlightened person would want at to least have access to Fox News.

I didn't realize that anticlimates was a female. From now on I will try to be more gentile in addressing her.
