Jewish school in storm over US 'gay conversion' group
kactus posted a topic in The Rest of the World
Full article: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-24029541-jewish-school-in-storm-over-us-gay-conversion-group.do Seems pretty scary that such a group as Jonah can exercise such extremist view. -
Nicely put Waldo! I must admit when I read his post it sounded to me as if he is giving his own input into this...Very deceptive indeed!

This is truely great news. I only wished more people like him get a positive coverage in the US and elsewhere.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6zP1xCFeUM&feature

Iranian Nuclear Threat - Real or Not?
kactus replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
BS...but then again that's the kind of regurgitated crap I was talking about. I have no love for the guy but the truth is he never said Israel must be wiped off the map no matter how much you want to twist this. Oreally? Then how come I see the usual crowd always paint the same brush when describing those evil eyeranians? Pull the other one... -
Iranian Nuclear Threat - Real or Not?
kactus replied to Hudson Jones's topic in The Rest of the World
Beats the logic. The 'usual suspects' here on this forum have this twisted fantasy that Iran in the old Germany under Hitler. As if this couldn't be getting more ridiculous you will never see these staunch supporters of Israel showing any remorse for all those Iranians who lost lives during Iran/Iraq war and when Saddam used chemical weapons against Iranians and Kurds. Neither do they show any sympathy for poor indigenous population of iran who have to bear the burden of these tough sanctions. Its mind blowing when they remain silent on all these atrocities yet repeat the same regurgitated crap spewed all over this forum and elsewhere. That is the real depression!!! Yet they are always crying about the existence of Jews when so many other lives are being sacrificed and endangered by this crazy view of the whole situation. And all because someone thinks iran is going to "wipe Israel off the map".... -
Court finds Bush and Blair guilty of war crimes

wtf are you talking about?? Those protests were happening in thousands if not tens of thousands protested against the war. If that is not the real value of democracy when people voices can be heard then what's the difference between the west and some of these middle eastern/ african countries we often criticise for their lack of democracy??? France objected to this bloody illeagal war that Bush Blair et al started... The fact that some countries like Canada may have had some level of involvement in Iraq war in 2003 does not by any stretch of imagination bring their involvement to any comparison to the lies Bush/ Blair put together and fed to jo blogs that the war was justified on the basis that Iraq had WMD. This is despite ample evidence from Hutton enquiry and credible sources that proved otherwise: http://dr-david-kelly.blogspot.com/ The dodgy dossier: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_Dossier Bush and Blair knew fully well what that Saddam didn't have the WMD capability. The dossier was "sexed up" to make the case for the illegal war. -

You bet there should be...Saddam ruled Iraq for over 30 years. All those years when he was killing his own people, used chemicals against his own Kurdish people and the Iranians the west remained mute and let him carry on. Intact, Donald Rumsfeld (next to be tried) shook hand with Saddam when he was still the friendly 'puppy' of the west. Bush and Blair were the main instigators for taking Britain and US into an illegal war with Iraq with moral conviction that Saddam had WMD! This war had nothing to do with a political leniency for those who were against it but has everything to do with two liers who deceited public and pushed for it despite many mass demonstrations in UK and elsewhere against this war. -

Invading a country under the premise that they had WMD and forming the public opinion to go to war is different from how governments treat their own citizens. Not that I condone the mistreatment of their own citizens. -
What may have worked for Iraq (and i say may) does not have universal application. Iran is not Iraq.

Every country has its own domestic problems as well as external issues. Anyone who denies that has biased views.... There's absolutely no possibility that they want to "remove Israel off the map". See above. Those are you words not mine. If you want to change that translation to suit your goal that's fine but dont expect me to take your word for what he hasn't said... Not a all, framing me into something I never said or lumping me as someone with views contrary to yours is an old tactic....

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

A very interesting fresh perspective from Seymour Hersh A propaganda used ahead of Iraq war now being reused over Iran's nuke program:

Absolutely! It's the same theme with repeating fabricated stories like a broken record that these weapons somehow find their way into the hands of hezbollah bla bla bla as if Hezbollah couldn't have already acquired them from other sources... -

Well, atleast their conscious is clear that people don't buy anymore into the WMD stories Bush/ Blair cooked up before the invasion. Remember the Hutton inquiry and Dr David Kelly's death? Lessons to be learned on foreign policy. -
Excerpt from the article: And the report goes on:
-
It's no surpirse at all. ...Please stop twisting the words...Like I have said repeatedly I am not questioning the electoral process. But rather a quality of a candidate that IMO made a silly remark. That's all! In other nations people are able to express opinions about potential candidates that have a gaffe..
-
Convenient? Nah! It's just a fresh perspective of things. This whole thing is not even about Iran becoming nuclear...
-
I don't need to be reminded of political processes as I live in one of those nations. Sure there are other candidates that I may not know of nevertheless doesn't change my view of his remark especially when the potential post is to become the president of the most powerful country.
-
Seems like no lessons have been learned from the past...All this will do will radicalise more people aligned with their otherwise unpopular government.
-
Still fails to answer the question...If there was a proof why can't the report show conclusively that Iran has the bomb? Because they claim that it's for civilian purposes therefore no need to abandon the NPT. Could be...but you cannot take away the fact that their nuclear capability makes the north koreans deterrent.
-
Nevertheless, it's a sad reality why someone who calls Africa a 'country' slim or non-slim chance could potentially become a candidate for presidency deciding on foreign policies...Terrifying prospect...
-
If you understand me correctly you will know that the whole premise for attacking Iran is because of nuclear weapons. To date there are still no conclusive evidence that Iran has the bomb. Critics argue that for all the racheting up the pressure on Iran, Iran should abandon NPT treaty and call the bluff of americans. Afterall, North Korea is detterent of an attack. Hell, Israel and South Africa were never clear about their nuclear capability but both of them have them have it. Maybe we should drastically dilute this policy and make the whole middle east a nuclear free zone including Israel.
-
These rhetorics amounts to nothing but than hurting Iranian civilians in the form of sanctions. Afterall, this is not the first time these sanctions were levied on Iran and still it's business as usual. The regime is still in tact only the ordinary average iranians suffering. But then again since when did West ever cared for Iranian people for that matter. Iranians embassy is still operating in UK as it has always been.
