  1. Don't tell that to Rick Santorum. He might mix up Iran for Israel and launch an attack on the holy land if he became president god forbid Judging by the level of lobbyists however that would be unlikely.
  2. Oh I am well alive but then refuse to keep my head in the sand unlike some of the ignorant nominees for the republican electorate who cannot even get their geography right and yet want to talk about ME politics: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=10768206 It is no secret who in the UN pulls its muscle to change this dynamic. It has always been the US the biggest financial sponsor of the UN. Infact US and Israel have been pushing further sanctions against Iran by trying to get recognition from other member states... It's interesting how selective you are when looking at events concerning kurds, shi'ites and sunnis that make up iraqis. Fact is Saddam killed many kurds and Iranians in halabja in 80s with chemical weapons. Where was the US the mighty saviour prior to the Gulf war when these attrocities were committed??? Fact still remains the sanctions imposed by the US/UN post gulf war did hurt iraqi civillians being a kurd, sunni or shia.
  3. Yes...The sanctions were a genocide committed against ordinary iraqi civilians. Under the US pressure UN and other nations complied as they are already doing the same with Iran. dejavu!
  4. These sanctions are there with only one purpose. To hurt ordinary Iranians. How many iraqis did the US kill through their systematic sanctions in the 90s. No rational person can deny this as a genocide. And we are going to watch them do it again?!!! As with Iran, tougher sanctions will bring nationalistic sentiments amongst younger generations of Iranians and will bolster the position of an otherwise unpopular government. And quite rightly so. If you come to screw another country don't expect a pat on the shoulder and expect to receive hey thank you for coming in to "liberate us" in the name of demmocrASSy... If you were always bulied by a guy with a stick you could stop the bully by gettting your own stick. Iran wants self preservation like any other country. If the west wants to impose sanctions on Iran's oil and gas export it strengthens the case why Iran should seek alternative energy in the form of civilian nuclear energy.
  5. Iran has been subject to sanction for many years. Frankly these have become a PR stunt. At the end of the day they won' hurt the regime but just ordinary people.
  6. It is failing because the whole system of governance under the labour is a sham and people are still paying for their mismanagement of economy. Its a fact of life that all these cuts were necessary. That said UK still enjoys a three star credit rating, has an interest rate at par with Europe's largest economy Germany. And all this despite a deficit 4 times the size of her GDP. My concern is this hole within the Eurozone that is dragging all other stronger economies into a quagmire...
  7. You know it beats me. On one hand he is not short in defending Israel on every single occasion their government is criticized even if they have violated the internalional norms but wouldn't mind if the rights of other countries is trampled...It's is rather astonishing that he never falls short to criticize the leaders of the middle eastern countries for their brutality yet thinks removing a democratically elected government is just a "great idea"!!!
  8. Getting Canada's approval will strengthen their position.
  9. Perhaps if you assure Iranians that it's not about drying them out of oil everytime the sh-t hits the fan and we have economic problems here and play the war drums "bombing the country to stoneage", when human rights card is played to justify your action you may be able to convince them that you are genuinely interested in them and treat them the same as other citizens of the world. But when you have policies that even interferes with internal policies of the country (such as removal of Mossadegh in 1953) then you will have a togh time understanding why things don't go so rationally. I am not condoning the actions of Hezbollah but am merely saying that surely these things should start with some good old housekeeping.
  10. By saying this you do realise that if Mossad's involvement happens to be true and they did attack that would be an act of provocation. Right?
  11. But you are paranoid and out of depth. It not for me to tell you that. It's just the way it is....
  12. Very flattering. But you are a terrorist. A forum suicide bomber with paranoia. I won't hug you though it might be contagious!
  13. Rapturing conservative party member? No thanks... Have seen enough already. A paranoid one too..
  14. You have missed the point completely and am not gonna waste it...Just read again and then come back.
  15. well let's just cross that bridge when we come to it.
  16. By that you meant when Ghaddafy gave up his nuclear ambition and became a friend of west. Yes I know where that ended up. Thanks for confirming my poiint.
  17. Too much paranoia. Take it easy might get a heart attack.
  18. I would argue that lifesppan will be even shorter giving up nuclear ambition given that all west is interested is how to milk the oil without any hassle of dealing with nuclear and ofcourse use the human rights issue and hezbollah and and and to make the case for it.
  19. yesh DoP you hear many things. We know...No need to elaborate
  20. Yep! I have kind of sensed this...
  21. Then why so much talk about this and hoo haa? God knows how many times these rhetorics and video has been on display. Let them initiate it and see what happens...As they say bring it on!
  22. Why would it show Iran's intentions to be less than peaceful. Let's look at it the other way round. If Iran's intelligence service carried the same thing in Israel would the reaction of the west been the same. Let's not forget that Ehud Olmert praised the explosions of the facility and hoped there will be more. If it was the other way round it would have been considered act of terrorism. If that was the case and Mossad was indeed involved in this Iran has shown considerable restraint.
  23. Errm technically speaking no if the Mossad thing happens to be true. Because Iran is supposed to be the bad guy here so even by going public it will implicate what Mossad has done which brings it to the crux of the matter. Oh no Iran is making nuclear bomb to destroy Israel. And then we will have the same conversation again.
  24. If Israel is going to have a pre-emptive strike against Iran without being attacked first then why should Canada be dragged into this? I don't get this!
