  1. More than 60% of the population is under the age of 30. That is a fact! This young generation do not exactly have a recollection of IRAN/ Iraq war. That said the support of saddam in the eighties by the western governments to go into war with Iran is well documented. Not sure what this overused phrase to term "arab spring has anything to do with Iran. But since you mentioned opportunity to oust mullahs lets reflect on the infamous "green movement" almost three years ago backed by CIA that didn't have any impact on "regime change". Why should it be any different this time?
  2. Absolutely! But i still think the whole notion of such comparison is ludicurous to the point that when you see it pop up again and again i cant help but to roll the eyes...
  3. Whilst I appreciate your praise of young Iranians theres is nothing much lately coming from media that instills any confidence/ hope of the western government support for them other than which next US candidate is gonna drop a bigger bomb on Iran. ( thats to put it very mildly) so gainst that background you are faced with a very young population of IPAD and Iphone generation that despite all the appetite for western values stand firm behind an otherwise unpopular goverment should their lives be threatened by constant rhetorics of threats by foreign forces.
  4. Iran is not comparable to germany under hitler nor USSR. This argument s absurd and totally baseless. Ofcourse there are always certain extremists who compare islam to islamofascism as there are the same fanatics who compare judaism to judofascism! Seems like none of these groups who advocate propaganda war on religion have learned their lesson. It wasn't islam that brought about nazism nor communism to this world...Now with both threats long gone it seems very very convenient to fill the gap with islam. Oh yes. Forgive Iran if she wants to protect its territorial integrity against foreign invasion when both her neighbours are already invaded. Any country in that region with a bit of sense would do the same to protect its sovereignty. Well...equally, it comes down to the hard fact that if people like you are wrong 80 MILLION IRANIANS have to pay the price not Israel!! Unless ofcourse you like many others on this forum have a 'vested interest in Israel' to push for this ideological war between Iran and the west. Neither do you. If you live in Canada or the west what is your interest in that region? That aside, more importantly what if you are wrong about this?
  5. Hi Michael, It was never my intention to use profanity. I merely posted a quote from the article posted here describing half oof Africa. If quoting an article which uses that kind of language is not allowed here I will refrain from using quotes in future.
  6. Me neither...But hey according to some that may be the case especially when you reference half a continent a "fucking desert, dude"!
  7. Exactly! Iran has more to lose as we are talking about 80 million lives. Besides, they have already had their fair share of casualties and miseries when dragged into an eight year bloody war with Iraq and literally cost lives of millions of innocent people...But I guess some are oblivious to this fact and just turn a blind eye when it's convenient...
  8. Based on what? What is your evidence other than heresay? Infact, what would Iran/ the clerics gain from picking single handedly on fighting the west? Israel government may think so to make a case to justify their attack on Iran... That doesn't mean they are right!
  9. Oh well better to call Iran the "satan" than the other stereotypes on this map.... Same phrase used to reference USA as the "great satan"! Oh the irony of it...But seriously Canada the land of vegetarians??? That's gotta hurt! http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2012/feb/17/stereotype-maps-tsvetkov More galleries to view Europe and middle east and northen africa from same perspective: http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/gallery/2012/feb/17/stereotype-maps-yanko-tsvetkov
  10. Point still stands...it is hypocrisy to listen to saudis when they themselves are not exactly the beacon of democracy. Afterall arabs are not exactly friends of Israel either and when it concerned matters regarding Israel violating UN resolutions arabs voice dId t exactly materialised.
  11. Same arab league that vetoed another arab country Syria? Same arsb league made out of puppets like Saudi Arabia royal family with poor human rights records? Yes hear hear....
  12. wtf are you talking about? That maybe true and I don't dispute it. But...Again wtf has this to do with Iran? Aye, I get it the current regime in Iran has somehow some links to nazi Germans Sigh...Again you are moving off topic...We were talking about travel restrictions...I reiterate the same point as I made earlier. There has always been travel restrictions to and from Iran to Israel even prior to 1979 revolution. Infact Egypt is the only other country that has travel restrictions to Iran. This is not a big secret. I am not denying that Iran enjoyed a better relationship with Israel prior to 1979. Infact I would have endorsed a better relationship between both countries but chances of that is non existent at the moment. (to put it mildy) And ffs do not assume that anyone who opposes your views has somehow connections to the Iranian regime. Just an advice up to you to take it.
  13. Why? Is that what you are pre-conditioned to?
  14. Damn right it is. I would imagine there are also travel restrictions for people travelling from Israel to Iran. But hey let's not your frustrations get the better of you. Calm down! Aye. The good old grand mufti. Same BS argument on every thread to divert from the subject. That's the best you can come up with. The same regurgitated crap on every thread!
  15. Exactly right. But hey in some eyes that was still the fault of Eyeranians...
  16. Jawohl jawohl Herr Obersturmführer!
  17. So what? After the revolution many Iranians left Iran. They lost their wealth and money and were not even jewish. Whether jew or non-jew why do you mention one group??? The law in Iran states that any ethnic minority in Iran has a representative. Jews have representative as do many other ethnic groups. Whether there is a flaw or not with the system why should there be preferential terms for one group and not the others? So what? This has been the case even before the 1979 revolution....
  18. Yup! A a bunch of drivel as expected! Shift the goal post when it doesn't suit the argument and throw another link from Memmri. How original!!! As if thousands of other videos they have posted on other countries hold a value. On the other hand the previous link you posted showed live testimonials by REAL people inside IRAN. Incase you have forgotten I have never condoned the action treatment of Iranian government of its people whether jew or others, which is very different to promote bombardment of a country with lies and falsify the truth with one sided argument. Ah wait...I am being called anti Israeli and you just stopped short of calling me anti semite... Wow! Watch out everyone the finger is pointed at me. That old chessnut...Do I give a flying fuck about your opinion or other paranoid individuals here who brush off the anyone who thinks differently? ...Better think again...I'm just saying like it is. Don't like it? Tough shit.
  19. O'really? Which part? Perhaps you and your fellowtraveller can both take a trip to downtown 'Tehran' and share a falafel over how cruel those evil Eyeranians are a "fucking tumour, true believers" really are Just watch the video you posted carefully instead of nitty picking....Towards the end they interview this shop owner who travels to Turkey and from there to US and Israel to see his family without any travel restriction. But what is really important is the very fact that despite all the sanctions and economic hardship levied on Iran this guy always choses to come back to his home country Iran after visiting US and Israel...Needless to say that these sanctions are hurting not only Iranian jews but all Iranians.
  20. Sigh....Your focus on how the event before that war started is totally false and at best fabricated! The territorial dispute over a river between the two countries was the source of conflict resulting a provocation by Iraq to invade south western Iran funded by US military. The intention of the west was to engage Iran in a prolonged war with Iraq to weaken the country and the influence of the islamic revolution. That war resulted in the death of millions of people on both sides! What breeds extremism is the very notion that everybody who critises the policies of Israel gets a label inappropriately as anti semitic. The irony is that the very people who defend Israel at any cost against any critisism and at the same time negate their own shortcomings vis a vis numurous violation of UN charters are doing a disservice to the jewish state.
  21. Well, you have to question the way the original poster has worded the title giving the misperception of generalising all blacks and the way they govern... On a more specific note I remember a couple of years back when britain withdrew the knighthood from Mugabe (and quite rightly so) Nevertheless, you wonder why such a dictator like many others enjoyed a rather good relationship with britain before.
  22. Well...one would argue that an average american wouldn't give a damn on what is going on in that region regardless of the fact that these wars cost trillions of dollars and a burden on economy...Unless ofcourse if one has close association/ loyalty to a certain country. Iran poses no danger to USA but certain policymakers make the average joe blog believe that this is the case...
  23. You think Gadaffi was bad wait a bit longer. Now that the steam is off Lybia lets invade another country in the name of "democracy" to improve human rights and what have you. Krikey, you would think the indigenous population of Lybia had it easy.
  24. Absolutely! I guess you dont read much of my posts regarding poor human rights in other countries... My concern has always been about poor treatment of people including Moslems by their governments. That said my reservation about the motives of western governments precedes that argument... People like me Rue?! Who the hell do think you are to judge me. Don't think I needed to ask your permission to post...Spare me the lecturing. It will only make you sound like a pompous git.... Stop acting like a drama queen. It really doesn't suit you or your statement. Glad you're making some headway with constructive criticism of this group. Keep it up! Dont shoot the messenger. But since you mentioned in your own words the more you go on about this the more paranoid you will sound... Evidently. Congratulations!
  25. Neither are jews...That should be quite obvious to you as both arabs and jews despite being semites can't live with eachother in peace...
