And it will bring crime, so the money will be spent in jails, cop salary, judge, social workers, insurance. Gambling does not create new value, it just collect money and re-dispatch value that hard working people created, and in the same time, take a large part of the wealth by the bosses of casino, and tax suckers, and some interest groups. It make tax payer suffer more. and at last, more and more people who actually create value will move away, if that becomes true, Toronto can be another Detroit.

Is this kind of "democracy process" ultimate goal? If it is, why? can it be eaten like food, can it be wear like dress, can it be live in like house? or can it be driven like a car? If it is not the ultimate goal, is it a means, a method for something else? is it for reflecting most people's want and will? If this is true, can current system meet this requirement? If a law that most people object can be passed, if there are many laws passed every year that most people did not know and possibly against most people's interest, can such a system meet its requirement? can such a system work as designed? in such case, what is the difference between this system and dictator system?

Because we have a representative democracy and their representatives voted for it. It doesn't matter what they personally support and oppose because we do not have direct democracy. So what? There's a process for establishing a legitimate government. Those that win the seats are there because there is a legitimate exchange of power. By getting the most votes in your riding. Then your MLA (or MPP in Ontario) has a constituency office for you to address your concerns. If you don't contact them about things, then you leave the responsibility of your representative to make the best decision on your behalf. Seriously, this is really basic stuff. This is the fundamentals of our political system. How do you not understand this? I did not deny there is a process. What I said is the people selected through the process can not represent most people, they represent a small interest group, their party. The government itself is a interest group. Ford lowered the office expense of this interest group when economy was in bad condition and lots of people lost their jobs. That is the true reason the interest group want him leave office, they don't represent the people who give votes, they represent themselves. You're free to give your opinion on any of the laws passed. Keep in mind that we do not have direct democracy, but rather representative democracy. You vote for someone and they make decisions on behalf of the entire constituency. Don't like the decisions they make? Vote for someone different next time around. The fact still remains that the representative that gets the most support ends up representing the entire constituency. Yes, I have the freedom to give opinion (outside the forbidden areas laws (such as hate crime) do not allow), but that can not change anything. Most laws were passed when most people don't have attention, and some are even with cheating like bundled with other bills, or bundle items with other items, or after cheating misleading media campaigns. Laws can be passed even most people object it, like Ontario's Bill 13 which giving implicit legislative support for prejudice against minority, religious and cultural groups; promoting a uniformity of understanding and making Ontarians’ school choices meaningless; ostracizing many who are equally committed to the cause, in forcing the acceptance of one anti-bullying approach on all schools; using an anti-bullying bill to bully some Ontarians into relinquishing their parental responsibilities and constitutional rights ( http://www.thestar.c...rts-to-bullying ) ( http://www.cbc.ca/ne...t-alliance.html ) So the point is, the "representatives" do not represent most people, they represent only the interest of their own small group. You have a better system? Although I have many ideas (I have posted some, like I said we need not any representative, we need to vote on each law item by internet http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=19262&st=45#entry699168 ), I have no money to do experiments. And in Canada, we might even don't have the freedom to do such experiment because of those existing ridiculers laws which are there without even a debug process because the real purpose of lots of laws are for the interest of small groups instead of most people.

Obviously you don't understand democracy. One judge and one random person is not enough to turf him from office. You need an entire Legislative Assembly of democratically elected representatives voting and passing legislation first. Sorry you don't understand how democracy, the judiciary, or politics works, but Ford was democratically removed from office. How many laws are there in Canada, how many content can you tell me? Most people don't know, even just the number. If people don't know it, how do you know if they support or object it? For the "democratically elected representatives", we all know those people are there just because voters thought their rivals are even worse. How can those people "represent" you? How many laws they passed each year, how many did they ask for your opinion? how many do you know exactly what is the purpose, what is the side-effect, what is the risk when it is abused? How many people know that? When someone try to use those laws, that you have no idea when and for what the law is there for who's interest, to attack you, you are always going to be said to break it which represent yourself. "Democracy"? just a beautiful joke.
-
This incident shows clearly that so called "democracy" is a lie. If Ford is elected by people, one judger with one randomly picked guy is more than enough to let him left the office. The legal system is just a weapon for attacking. When someone want to use it for his or his small group's own interest, he don't care if most other people's interested has been damaged. They are the real thugs who destroy Canadian economy and the people's life. And the legal system make such destruction possible.

Funny logic of a Chinese elemetary school kid said he learn for world
bjre replied to bjre's topic in The Rest of the World
For the politicians, it is obvious that western politician have to cheat. Otherwise it will be very hard for them to win the election. Who can be more dishonest than western politicians? it will be hard to find. For the ordinary people. In Mao's time, most people were honesty. Now it is different, when China becomes more and more like the west world. Lots of people try to make money by cheating just like those in west world, when you go to a shopping mall, you found lot of their ads were just cheating, when you use internet, or cell phone, you found there are lots of hidden fees they did not talk about in their ads, if one day I can find some advertisement does not contain cheating, I would try to think if there are much big cheating behind, newspapers misleading, television cheating, survey try to fool people, google try to put the content that satisfy their own interest in the top of the search results. But still people in China are more honesty than in west world, because now still much less laws are in China than in west nations. For example, no hate crime, people can hate whoever they like, they can honestly talk about that, while in west nations, you can not talk about some groups of people even you hate them, otherwise, you will have trouble. When the time comes China has same amount of laws as in the west nations, freedom speech will be controlled by the same amount of laws, there will be same ratio of dishonesty. -
Funny logic of a Chinese elemetary school kid said he learn for world
bjre replied to bjre's topic in The Rest of the World
At least we can see that even kids knows that US is one of the important reason that the world is not peace, even conflicts are typically made in name of peace. And millions of people 's right and freedom of living are typically be taken away in name of "human rights" and "freedom". And one can be arrested and facing public intoxication charges for telling children that Santa Claus doesn’t exist in a nation that is said to have freedom speech. Obviously, the lies in west "free" world is much more than in China. It is good to know there are some people who understand some truth even when the kid is just a non-talent, maybe need-to-help kid. -

Nothing important, even so, it is hard to translate. Can be like the following: The teacher is smiling ( maybe because find the kid can think of teacher, or satisfied seeing the kid make some kind of progress that can write a longer compesition at last) Or the teacher is amused or laughing ( maybe because of the funny content) -

The original post is here: if you can understand Chinese. I guess the kid should be 12 or younger because he/she mentioned graduate, so he/she should be grade 5 or 6. -
This is translated from a composition of a Chinese elementary school kid, who said he learn for the safety of the world. Wednesday, November 7, sunny weather Time flies, just get to the semi-final examination. I have now started intensive review. I must begin work hard now. Because if I do not work hard, my scores on my report card will not increase, then I will be scolded by the parents, and I will lose confidence, and then I will not be able to learn well, so that I will not be able to graduate, hence I will not be able to find a good job, and earn a lot of money, so I will have no money to pay tax, so the government will have no money to pay teachers, so the teachers will have no good mood for teaching, this will affect the future of our motherland, so that China will have difficult to rise and degenerate into a barbaric nation. When that happen, the United States will be suspicious of weapons of mass destruction in China, The United States will launch a war to China, the third world war will break out, then one of the parties will lack the strength and have to use nuclear weapons, the result will destroy the natural environment so that it will break a big hole in the atmosphere, this will make the Earth's temperature rising, polar ice will melt, melting glaciers, the Earth's water level will rise, all humanity will be drowned. The conclusion is, for the safety of lives and property of all mankind, I want to work hard on the review in the rest of the few days and pass the exams, not let the tragedy happen.

Laws are for interest groups gather wealth, if any hard-working people's life be destroyed, that is not law maker's business, all what they care about is the boss of them can make more money. A teacher says her life was completely destroyed by a teenager’s allegations she sexually assaulted him when he was 15. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/crime/article/1257946--teacher-sex-trial-allegations-of-abusing-ex-student-destroyed-her-life-former-french-teacher-says Whether she did or not did something wrong, her life has been destroyed. Does she have any human right? No she does not. Even if that was what she did, what is the harm to the boy? Didn't he saw any naked statue? Didn't he saw his mother's breasts when he was young? Only when he related those things with ugly thought will those make harm, if he has, who gave him those ugly thoughts? The media, the movies, and many others. If he does not has those ugly thought, what is the difference between the touch with any cloth on a sofa? That is the most significant part of this, that is where your tax dollars went. And you also need to pay tax for judges, cops, prosecutors, and other legal industry money suckers. That might be the ultimate purpose of the laws. I can not imaging any positive side of those laws.

Make poor pay is not the answer. If you make poor unable to make living, that would be back to old time described in novels by some 19 century Russian writers. That is the same with to kill the hen for take the egg. That would lead to revolution, wars. Peace will leave us away. The better way is make poor have more money, make them rich, then ask for more tax. Don't use laws let the greed banks and insurance company to rob too much money from them, don't expand government payed work too much, don't make too much laws that feed too much greed lawyers, cops, judges, and CAS workers workers. So that people can leave some of their heard-work income to themselves and have more possibility to increase opportunities to become rich.

Government job cuts make NO economic sense
bjre replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It is not about austerity, it is about unfair, no freedom, wasting, and robbery. Ehealth scandal a $1B waste? Who did that? "the qualified professionals". They take money from everyone. Whom else can do that? Too many people include lots of immigrants that can not find a professional jobs and had to rely on welfare or sell cafe in Tim Horton's. So many people have come to Canada, they should create a large market demand and provide a large sum of tax to make Canada better. However, Jobs are need certificates and licensed that controlled by monopoly. When they need to see a doctors, they find not so many doctors are available; and no one among them are allowed to be a doctor. When they need a house to live, they found they are not allowed to build their own house, they have to buy it with a high price and give mortgage provider same money as the house price. When they need drive, they found, as an oil rich nation, gas price is 6 times high than Saudi Arabia and 10 times high than Iran, but they are not allowed to build their own refinery. When they have a kid and apply for a birth certificate, they need to wait for a whole year, but they simply can not find a job to prepare birth certificate for others. This is Canada, too many people held the job but just do a little work but ask for big money, so many blood suckers are waiting for feed too, in the meantime, so many others can not find a job that they are good at, so that they can only do low income jobs, or become a welfare sucker themselves. This certainly limit the potential of the ability for them to increase market demand and provide tax. -
Report: Wait Times at Hospitals Across Canada Worsening
bjre replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The problem is due to monopoly. Canada is a nation of monopoly. Too many jobs need a license. That is the way our tax dollars goes to small interest groups and make the labor price highest in the world. Government takes money from us, Banks takes money from us, Insurance Companies takes money from us, everyone who do real work that create real value suffer from all those. Health system is one of those who ridiculously takes money from us. Ontario has 8.76 million people, the health system takes us $48 billion health budget, that is $5479 from everybody no matter if you ill or not. $11 billion payed to 25000 doctors, that's 440k for each doctor, how much mayor Ford get payed for a year? Others profits to various interest groups. The problem is easy to solve. Abolish doctor's license, Anyone can be a doctor, Anyone can choose doctor who himself trust. Any doctor make an severer accident should go to jail and not be a doctor again. That will solve the problem. -
The truth is so simple and I have mentioned so many times. The tax is too heavy, 50% of each worker's wage become income tax and sales tax, which be used for CAS and legal system to create more and more new laws and build jails for new defined 'crimes' and give ticket to drivers and bully single moms and children. And mortgage company takes same amount of money as the price of house as interest for buying a house that need a worker to pay. And mortgage company need no money to lend you money, simply input a number in your account, they can take same amount of money as you buy a house that need you work for many years. And people have no rights to build their own house, you need a license, lots of work need license, that effectively restrict competitions. Canada is not a free market. You have to pay more for this. These factors makes Canada's labor price the highest in the world, that makes job opportunities go to other counties continuously. The solution is, stop create any new laws, review each old laws and abolish most of them. lay off most tax payed jobs and make anyone has the right to create a company to do those jobs, so that competition is possible. and cut tax is possible. And make mortgage company need 100% cash before they and lend anyone money. That will solve a lot of problems.

Cops don't want to catch thieves, they want make things bigger so that they can use more police power and ask for more tax dollars. they don't care if less people will pay tax. They care for themselves only. Now cops send the message clearly to the community: go thieves go, play with hard work peoples, until they fight you back and cops will share some dollars in this way, and thieves will be safe.
-
No surprise in such a monopoly culture. The problem is easy to solve if 1. allow anyone to build refinery plants if sell to Canada only. 2. allow anyone to build oil wells if sell to Canada only. One more important condition (the most important one): It should not be sell in the futures exchanges markets to benefit the fat cats only, even in Canada.

Canada politicians love to pass secret laws
bjre replied to bjre's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Trying to decode what you're saying here. A person breaks a law but the person did not know such a law existed. So the person gets charged and pays to hire a lawyer. bjre, just because a person doesn't know a law exists doesn't mean that law was passed in secret. Remember you're in Canada here, not in the old country. Did the politicians said that people has rights, and they keep said via all media that: But when politicians make new laws, why several people can decide it, and it can be passed when most people don't know it, and have to be bullied with those laws they don't even know? If most people don't know and don't care, why it is so important to make this law when there are too many other things need to fix? Is this so called "Democracy", or democracy itself is just a lie? Maybe politicians are just like cops, who love to catch single mothers and give tickets to drivers much more than catch murders. -
Canada politicians love to pass secret laws
bjre replied to bjre's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Because although most people pay tax for the high salary and retirement benefits for the politicians, most people don't know such BILL, even after it passed, still most don't know it, until someday, some one get charged will he notice it and hurry try to find a lawyer and spend some more money. What is worse is, their kids be brainwashed when they did not even know about it. -
Canada politicians love to pass secret laws and make more "criminals" and send you to jails with those laws. Recently, they want to promote gay rights, but at same time take away others human rights and don't want their child to hear of that. So more and more child will brainwashed in that way. I am not sure what the politician want, but I guess this has to do with the legal industry lobby, which will make legal industry to make more money from your tax dollars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=MkIs4EL1HQ0#! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=MkIs4EL1HQ0#! https://www.familyfreedom.ca/ http://www.p-first.com/ http://www.evangelicalfellowship.ca/

Vote: How do you feel about crime in Canada?
bjre replied to MiddleClassCentrist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I believe only those who drink and drive need to need to be punished. Those who drink and destroy other's property, drink and hurt others should be punished for destroy/hurt. Those who drink and hurt themselves should pay the medical cost themselves. -

Vote: How do you feel about crime in Canada?
bjre replied to MiddleClassCentrist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I believe the correct way is educate kids in schools to be able to have responsibility to himself, to his family, and to others. That would be more effective, instead of let the kids do whatever they want, jail the parents who want to educate them, and then punish those who does not receive proper education, which is for the legal industry take more tax dollars only. -
Vote: How do you feel about crime in Canada?
bjre replied to MiddleClassCentrist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Too many people were defined to be criminals according to laws but they actually did not harm to anybody. Too many real criminals like murders, gun shooters are at large. Cops are busy catch single mothers, hard working husbands with the help of CAS, and busy give out tickets that the amount of tickets in Toronto each year is more than the number of the residents there. Courts are as busy as hospitals. Jails are not enough that politician want to build more. Those are the business that paid with our tax dollars and charity dollars. -
You can see, Subway is the most efficient way to decrease the traffic amount in downtown. Even you don't live in Scarborough, and Scarborough, if the subway built, you could enjoy less cars in the downtown street, parking lot, better air to your health and much more. (The economy benefit for you has not taken into account yet.)
